The title here does not say it and the search does not find it, but this IS the Imaginext Pirate Raider. While some pieces, like the hull, are far more limiting than other Imaginext, it IS an amazing toy, and easy to add little walls on top for cabin space with your regular Imaginext. A huge ship. The hull pieces use a different typ of clip than regular imaginext so it can easily be sailed around the floor without coming apart. Theres a great 3 barrel cannon that can go below decks to fire out the windows. A worthy addition to any Imaginext collection, particularly the castle line.

I can't express how disappointed I am in this toy. While not difficult to put together, it is time consuming and takes a lot of attention to detail. My four-year old had moved on to something else while we did so. There are too many small parts that don't really stay on--the lanterns on the corners of the ship fall off, the side railings don't hold if you barely touch them, the parrot won't stay on the captain's shoulder, and you can't get the captain himself to stand in his spot near the wheel. While the system allows you to make the ship into different formations, I put so much effort into getting it together originally that I almost don't want to encourage my son to change it.While I had hoped to encourage imaginitive play, the only fun part of this ship is the shooting arrows and the mast that "breaks" and can be re-set standing up.

A lot of people have reviewed the Imaginext toys very poorly for their younger children. My son received the rescue station, construction set, and battle castle last year for christmas when he was 4. He liked them, but I was the one who usually built them so that he could play with them afterwards. This was very frustrating since the whole point of getting them was to promote his imagination and dexterity from building them. However, since he has turned 5 they are a whole new toy for him. He now spends a long time meticulously putting them together and then playing with them off and on all day till I make him take them back apart to put away. This year he has begged for the pirate ship and Buccaneer Bay for christmas!...I think it takes a little older child to appreciate the building of these toys...my 5 year old loves them!!!

Well we were excited about this, the whole family. But, as others have mentioned it isn't that fun. First off there isn't much you can do to it as it's a boat and unless you pull it apart and combine it with the lost fortress to make a cool Swiss Family Robinson type house; you're stuck with the boat. It has sat in tact for about a month now. The castle... well we still love that. My thoughts... buy the castle and lost fortress... forget the boat. Also the guys that go with this set are really, really hard to find. And the ladies would love to see a girl thrown in there every now and again.

My 3 year old recieved this for his birthday as he loves all things pirate. He and his daddy love playing together (he insists that someone play pirate with him though, because he needs help putting it together and such). The little pieces are easy to lose, but we have a special pirate "bucket" that we put all those pieces into which help him keep track better. He recently got some of the add-ons for it and we were pleased to discover the skeleton crew (which he has been asking for skeleton pirates before we even saw that add-on). AMAZINGLY - my 8 & 10 year old nephews STOPPED PLAYING VIDEO GAMES to play with this set. Now that is incredible!!!!!

Received as gift for 5 year old son's birthday. Took a while for assembly but he loved it. Other Imaginext toys from 3rd birthday were dusted off and now he "gets it" ... and knows how to play make-believe. Not for younger than 5 in my mind.

My sons (3,4 and 6) all loved the idea of the Pirate ship. They do enjoy playing with it; however, it falls apart constantly and it's not that much fun to play with a toy that falls apart everytime you touch it. I have to put it back together at least once or twice a day. We are considering super gluing the parts together. If I had it to do over again, I would not have purchased this toy.

I was so surprised by all the negative reviews on this toy. My son recieved it for his ... birthday and has played with it for hours every day since then, we also went and bought the Sea Serpent acessory. It only took about 15-20 min to assemble it in the beginning, which is standard for the bigger buildable sets like this. I worked on setting it up while he played with some of his other presents. All the pieces can store inside the ships hull which is great for clean up time. It seems like the parents who gave neg. reviews want the toy to look like it does in the picture ALL the time. Good Luck! ;) Maybe they should buy one for themselves and one for their child, that way they don't get upset when the kid disassembles some pieces while playing with it!
