Product Description

Product Packaging: Frustration-Free Packaging

Its a reclining infant seat with a fold out kickstand great for feeding baby. Adjust the seat upright so baby's movements create rocking motion with stimulating toys and music to enjoy. For naptime, you can remove the toy bar and switch on calming vibrations. And as your child grows, it becomes a toddler rocking chair. 1 D battery is required (not included).

The best thing is that this rocker is made to serve children from newborn to toddler who can sit and rock by himself. So far I have tested it on my newborn. The chair offers two options for him - a rocking chair with entertaining toys (including one musical) dangling over his head and a sort of portable bed where he can comfortably take a nap (this is converted from a rocking chair by a lever). My child as of now can only stare at the dangling toys, but I expect him to be able to play with them in a few weeks. The chair has been very helpful in getting him to sit up when he is awake so that I can face and play with him, and the sleepy position - for keeping him asleep but away from his crib.

If there are any suggestion I would make, they are: it would have been nice to have a head holder (like car seats have) and that the rod holding the toys was a bit sturdier. Otherwise, not a bad investment.

My girl was born early and stayed in the NICU for over a year... needless to say that I was looking for a chair she would enjoy, which will help her support the heavy Ventilator tubing because of the Tracheostomy she had--- This Chair was heaven sent... she loved the music, the vibrations, she is a big girl now (walking and off the vent). it's her favorite TV watching chair...I'm even nervous about changing the chair... she has figured out how to unlocked herself out of it...lol....
We have used this chair until today on a daily basis... bought it in Sept 2011 and as of 1/31/14 she still enjoys it... the color is fairly the same after many washes. I don't usually write reviews on amazon but this chair brings sooo many memories of my girl... this was one of the "normal" activities she enjoyed (rocking herself in her chair)... she loves her pink chair...

If you see this more as a toy than a crib/playpen, I think you will be satisfied. It is designed for occasional periods through the day, not as a place to leave your baby. I can rock it easily from my chair (using my foot) and it is built with enough stability to keep me from worrying about a rollover. It can also be set in a fixed position, but I use it mainly for the rocking motion. The overall engineering is good, but I would recommend an upgrade to the "toy" bar. The items there are not baby-fascinating, but they could be. I'd like to see the sticker-covered plastic bits replaced with soft, dangly, *detachable*, *washable* toys.

Consider this rocker for a newborn, and you'll get your money's worth as it transitions to toddler-size.

We bought this for our baby when he was about 9 months old. You should never use the rocking chair position for younger babies because our boy flipped in it just by leaning forward. He was seat belted as well which made him stuck to the chair. Since that happened, we only used the kickstand position for him to conveniently take naps in, in the living room. Our baby is now 13 months old and doesn't use the chair at all. It is readily available but it's not easy for him to get in and out of by himself, it slides back in the hardwood floor if he tries. All babies are different though, you might just love the chair but other than having been a convenient napping place, it's useless to us.

I have this chair but in a different color. I registered for it before I had a baby, so I didn't know much about anything. No, my son is 8 months, and I've had time to form an opinion. The following are some things to note:
-This chair only has one vibration strength- other chairs have several.
-The chair only play music if you pull the center elephant
-Your baby won't be able to pull on said elephant for several months
-This means, you must keep pulling the elephant
-In fact, baby won't be able to play with any of the dangly toys for a while (my son probably didn't reach for them until about 6 months)
-By 6 months, we weren't using this chair much because my son seemed to want to climb out.
-The rocking position is only for kids that can stand up and have legs that reach the ground
-The toy bar comes off- if you are lazy (like me) and want to slip baby in with the toy bar on, you are likely to bump baby on the head
-Baby will not enjoy said head pump. This makes mama feel terrible for being lazy.

So, I used this chair a ton in the first 3 months while I showered or cooked. It worked out okay. My baby never fell asleep in it. My parents and my sister had different vibrating chairs. My baby tried those out, too. I have to say, he liked those so much more. He was always falling asleep in the one at my parent's house. Theirs had ocean/water sounds and a cool ocean scene to watch that seemed to relax him. My sister's offered a stronger vibration which he also seemed to like more than what this seat had to offer.

In the future, I will see how he liked the seat as a toddler. Until then, it's a dust collector in the corner.
