Customer Reviews

The actual chair can stay in either a rocking or reclined position.

Also, the colors on this rocker are very vibrant, which babies love, and the toys are interesting enough... I just wish the song would play a little longer.

Just wanted to add another cautionary post here about your baby tipping over. My 7 mo. old was within a second of face planting as she reached for a dropped toy--I luckily looked over and caught the chair right before she smashed into the hardwood floor. It's kind of disappointing since I think of Fisher Price as a gold standard in child product safety, we grew up with Fisher Price products ourselves. Some other people have written here not to use the chair in rocking mode with infants of this age, but this isn't really made obvious, and I naively thought that since the product says 'safe up to 40-lb. toddlers', it was engineered to not tip over. It's not a bad product overall, but this is something that anyone who uses this chair should be aware of.

We've had this rocker since the summer of 2002. That's over 10 years and it's still going strong! We used it with our first, then our second 2.5 years later, and now we will be using it with our 3rd, due in June. Not to mention all of the nephews we've used it with in between. This is a really great little chair. It rocks, it's sturdy, it's nice and tall so you're not hunched over, it has a simple design and comes apart easily to wash it. We use it for everything with the babies from feeding time to play time to nap time, and all the babies who have sat in it have loved it. The fabric is so durable too. We've washed it a million times, and it's not really even faded, and that's after over 10 years of use!

I really cannot recommend this rocking chair enough. Your children will use it from 3 months to 3 years and beyond. It really is perfect. If you're going to register for one thing to keep in your living room, get this.

This rocker has been a lifesaver for me. My son likes to be held all the time, and this is the only thing that he will sit in for long periods of time so that I am able to get anything done around the house. I have never put batteries in the vibrating feature because he does fine without it, so I can't tell you how well that works. I have never let him nap in it like another reviewer suggested, but it would be great for doing so. The seat also reclines, and it is great for feeding time, because they are sitting at a higher angle. My mom has even bought one to keep at her house, and my mother in law wants to buy one as well. Also, the colors on this rocker are very vibrant, which babies love, and the toys are interesting enough... I just wish the song would play a little longer.

I bought this for my 9 month old infant son who has always been up in the 95 percentile as far as weight and height and it's perfect! He used to love his Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper by Fisher Price since birth until he learned how to sit up very well at around 4-5 months and then tried to continuously climb out of and twist around in it all of the time (even while strapped in). Now, I like this one because he fits very comfortable and has room to grow with it, a great transition from the Rock 'n Play Sleeper. I was worried that this would have been too babyish for him now at 9 months. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works perfect for him and he stays entertained by the toy bar attached. Also he sits right up in it and watches TV and even sleeps in it like he did with his Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper (supervised..and NOT overnight). He loves the vibration option and being rocked in it. This is a great buy and I wish that I had bought this when he was a newborn but the Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper worked just fine then and even now as the weight limit is 25 lbs. but this Toddler Rocker goes up to 40 lbs. All in all, this is far more comfortable for my little guy now that he's grown a bit more! I use this Toddler Rocker as I did with e Rock 'n Play Sleeper, allowing me to shower and keep an eye on him while he waits for me to finish..since he likes to be close and I'm a stay-at-home-mom! This is even cheaper than the prices in local stores too! He spends more time in his Fisher Price items than his Nap Nanny Chill Portable Recliner!

If I could go back in time and not purchase this product, I would not purchase it. At first it seemed OK. My daughter liked to play with the hanging toys and she would rock herself a little and have fun. In the beginning she enjoyed the chair. As time went on and our daughter grew, the chair did not "grow with her." I say this because as our daughter gained more weight, the rocking would cause the toys to fly back and forth and hit her in the face repeatedly. The chair is just clumsy in general. When the child is older the chair can convert into a toddler chair, so it might be OK to bring it out again at a later date. But in between being a small infant and a much older toddler who can sit in the chair, there is a time frame during which the chair is just not useable. I am only speaking from experience, but basically I had to put the chair away when our daughter reached about 9 months because she kept getting slapped in the face by the hanging toys, which of course made her cry to be taken out of the chair. So, with that in mind, you should decide if this chair is really right for you and especially for your baby.
