4.0 out of 5 stars Good Swing, April 11, 2006
This review is from: Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along Swing (Baby Product)
We had registered for this swing along with the papasan full size swing. We wanted something we could take to peoples houses with this smaller portable unit. We did not recieve the full size swing for our shower so we decided to just try the smaller one. Now that we have it home and put together the size is perfect for our smaller house. I think a full size swing would take up too much room. It is nice because you can pick the unit up and move it to another room even if the baby is in it. The swing mechanism is a little on the louder side (I have nothing to compare it to right now) but our daughter does'nt seem to mind it. The lights above capture her attention and I like that as she starts to grab at the toys she can make the music go by pulling on the dangling fish. I am not sure how well this will hold up with a larger child being so low to the ground and more compact. Overall we like the swing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best swing on the market!, April 9, 2006

My daughter absolutely loved this swing. She also had the big Aquarium swing which only lasted 9 months. This swing is still a great swing but it is too small for her now because she is 18 months old. We used this swing more than the big one because she preferred it. It was used as a regular swing not a travel swing so it has held up really well. You cant go wrong buying this swing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Swing has pros and cons, January 1, 2006

There were many advantages to this swing:
* Size was good for our small house
* Was easy to fold up, or even just carry to different areas of the house, or on trips
* My son loved the music and lights
* He was really thrilled once he got a little older and realized he could prompt the music by pulling th fish on the sides
* It was really helpful early on

However, there are also several improvements that could be made:
* Even from the beginning when my son didn't weigh as much, the swing was slow
* It ate through batteries really fast
* Once my son was able to sit up, the swing was not really stable enough for him, in fact it really just seemed unsafe at that point.

Overall, the swing is good, but won't last as long as a larger, sturdier one.

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves it!, April 29, 2006

We purchased this swing because we do a lot of travelling from house to house and wanted to bring the swing along. My sister has a big swing and complains that it is bulky. This swing was a terrific buy considering that we lug it around our house. I have even taken it to work with me!

The lights keep my daughter's interest when she is in the mood to be entertained. The rocking motion is nice. The other reviewers mention the swing going too fast, but I think that it is fine. It even goes a little slow at times (usually when the batteries are draining). Rechargable batteries are a MUST with infant swings. Our little one LOVES this swing. She is 10 weeks old and has been in it since birth.

The only issues I have with this swing are:

I wish that there was a setting for lights only (There is a setting for music only and lights/music together)

The little swinging fish knock against the side of the swing if they get twisted. Annoying until you figure out what the problem is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this swing - small and strong, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along Swing (Baby Product)
Our daughter loves motion, but we didn't have a swing. I was reluctant to buy one more piece of equipment. However, we wanted something to soothe her when our arms got tired. I decided to buy a small, portable swing rather than the larger one because we have baby stuff all over the place. It works like a champ, and I don't think we would need a bigger swing. I'd highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!!, May 5, 2006

We have the full sized aquarim swing and our daughter loved it!

I was looking for a a good travel swing because we travel a lot. I tried 2 others and they were horrible. I finaly convinced my husband to buy this one and our daughter loves it too. She loves to watch the lights and the fish on the side. One time we were at a hotel that said they had a crib but they didn't so we used this for her to sleep in at night and she slept soundly for 8 hours in it. She's 9mths old now and still loves it. I would definately recommend both the full size and travel size Aquarium swings.

4.0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves this swing!, May 2, 2006

I got this swing to take with me to work and so when my mom keeps my daughter she could have a swing without having a bulky full size swing. I actually like this swing better than our full size one. This swing allows my daughter to lay back and it supports her head. She loves to nap in it. It folds up great and is easy to transport. The only thing that I do not like is that the lights don't have a setting just for them and when you turn the lights/music setting on it does not last long enough to keep my daughter entertained.

We registered for this swing just to keep in the car in case we ended up somewhere where our baby would be bored with nothing to keep him entertained. This swing is perfect for that. He loves to look at the fish and the lights and the music is great. I love that he can activate it himself by pulling on the fish that hang down. It folds up nicely and is compact enough. It seems pretty sturdy (he has been in the 95th percentile since birth). It is very entertaining but without being annoying. I definitely recommend this. I wouldn't use it as my primary swing, but it is good to have with you on the road.

2.0 out of 5 stars Swing with a mind of its own, March 25, 2006

This swing is VERY quirky, we are on our second one...it seems this swing will decide which speed it wants to go regardless of the speed control knob. It is very irritating to put your newborn in and have it set on 1 and then come back and your child is swinging at a disturbing rate of speed. Sometimes it will go horribly slow and you have to crank the dial up , then you put the knob in the same place again and it will go insanely fast. Overall I think this swing is... sketchy. We still use it when it will go a decent speed and I'm in the room...but sometimes i still get annoyed and just shut the stupid thing off. I would totally take it back but we got it as a gift and keep it so nobody gets hurt feelings. Also the lights are so high up that younger babies under 2 months cant really look up and see them. So there isnt much to enjoy for them. The lights are okay and the music is too, and its nice to have a dial to control volume. The babies don't seem to mind it. (I have twin boys 2.5 months old.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for our house, December 29, 2005

We bought this for our second daughter who's been using this swing since she came home from the hospital. She's 3 months now and its safe to say we all LOVE it! Its close to the ground and sturdy so we feel better about our dogs being around it. We love that it doesn't take up alot of space, its portable, and its automatic so we don't have to keep cranking it to keep her swinging. We think its waaaaay better than alot of other swings that cost an arm and leg.
