Mountie tyrone is wonderful, my nephew absolutely loves him. Very hard to find these dolls in good shape. Plus it came with batteries which was great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for little Tyrone fans, November 9, 2007
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Backyardigans Mountie Tyrone (Toy)
My mom bought this singing Tyrone for my son, who loves Tyrone.

The volume level is fine; not too loud for little ones who hold him close. The only complaint I have about the toy is that it's not terribly cuddly, which is something that little ones probably expect and want from a plush toy. The body contains the singing unit and there's little padding around it. Also the hat is hard plastic instead of fabric, which makes it difficult for toddlers to hold/hug Tyrone around the neck. But this hard body and plastic hat happen to make the toy quite durable (for example, the child holds Tyrone by the foot, the hat is what's dragging on the ground).

The music is a good quality and really sounds like the Tyrone you're used to hearing on the show (unlike some Backyardigans singing toys). He sings "Mountie on Duty" (tune of "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain) and also speaks lines like "Mountie Tyrone reporting for duty."

So whether or not this is a good choice for you depends on what you want from the toy. I think if you have a Tyrone fan to buy for, this is a good choice. Mine likes it and gives it lots of hugs even though I think it's a little less than 100% cuddly. But it's Tyrone! Who can resist? ;)
