2.0 out of 5 stars Stranded in New Orleans
We bought this car for my daughter and she rode in it 4 times before it left her stranded on the side of the road! The gears stripped in one of the wheels and it had to be towed home by daddy. She's under 40lbs, so rule out any thoughts that she may be too heavy for it. It is a really cute car with realistic details and she loves the "red" convertable look of it...

The only complaint: the back wheels spin occasionally if there is one occupant: when this happens, an adult has to go in and hold the rear of the car down to help the car regain traction... I guess if the manufacturer made the rear of the car heavier, this problem wouldn't exist. But, overall for $200, I am very happy and my son loves it!

My older daughter received this as a gift for her second birthday (Jan 2007) and by the summer had mastered steering and the gears. My younger daughter, one year old, also loves to go along for the ride. She sits in the passenger seat and gets to control the radio! I love that it's an adjustable two-seater with seatbelts. They both love riding in it and I feel it's safe and durable. We have big rocks/boulders around the edge of our yard to keep cars off our property and when she was first learning to drive would occassionally crash into them. At most the car got a scratch or two and she was fine. We actually plan on purchasing another one for the baby next summer so they can ride together! I would highly recommend this toy for hours of fun!

Unfortunately it's back to the store in less than a week, not durable enough for the high cost. We are very disappointed.

My husband and I bought this as a christmas gift for our three year old daughter. It was very easy to assemble, and there aren't too many stickers. The look is pretty authentic and my daughter is quickly figuring out the steering. Our only complaint is the rear wheels spin a bit with her as the lone occupant. This was mentioned by another reviewer. But it is still an awesome toy, and I'd buy it all over again.

I couldn't wait to give this to my son for his 4th birthday. However, when I realized that I had to put it together, the sweat started to drip from my brow and I got tunnelvision like in the movies.

I hate putting things together and you can see it from the Spice Rack that can't hold a jar or the toilet that leads people to slide foward when sitting on it. It's not in my genes and I'm kept away from projects from my wife...she'll do them because she has patience or my 7 year old daughter or hire someone.

It took a couple days, especially having to do it in the garage while my son was away. The instructions were awesome and I actually did it all by myself. Give me a special clap and a gentle "aah!"

My son's eyes bulged out when he finally saw his present. He is all about cars and now he parks it in the garage and I'm relegated to parking outside, because "now we have three cars." He straps the "Speed Racer" helmet he got and he's ready to go. He even drives to the end of the driveway to pick up the paper.

He loves it and Fisher-Price made an awesome car. So, I'm ready for the challenge to put together your car if you buy it!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kids Hot Rod, May 26, 2008

My 5-year old loves this Mustang. He has used everyday over the last two months! Runs great on sidewalks, drives and other hard surfaces. OK on a short lawn but drives slower and drains the battery. Electronic sound radio needs batteries. Arrived about 1 week after ordering via common carrier (truck).
Takes one hour to assemble some smaller parts. A COUPLE OF NOTES: MUST CHARGE 18 HOURS BEFORE FIRST USE so plan ahead to do this! Also requires 6-8 hours to recharge - buy a second battery for extended play. My son is very small for his age, larger than average children will feel cramped in this toy. Overall good value with free shipping.

My daughter just turned 4 and loves this car! It is pretty simple to operate. The construction is durable and has heads turning when she is cruising the neighborhood. The only issue is that she is on the lighter side of her weight scale and the tires spin at times. I would recommend to buy.

This product is fun for my chidren to ride, they act as if they are driving like I do. The only downside I seen so far is traction when the child is too light or they find themselves in gravel.

it's not exactly sturdy, I mean we have two other power vehicles (a hummer and a jeep) and the hummer far exceeds the other two, and the jeep is a few steps ahead of the 'stang. It is very, very cute and my twins (3) love it so much. It's not really worth the shipping charge so you'd be better off going to Walmart or something and shelling out a little more the toy you'll still save lots on shipping. It was also really easy to build (power drill, and a quick read through the directions before beginning and it was done in a half hour or so).

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

My son LOVES his mustang! He drives this car every chance he gets. While we are happy that we purchased this the mustang has a design flaw - the car isn't weighted heavily in the back end and as a result it "spins out" when taking off in either forward or reverse. My son thinks it's cool but it resulted in us needing to get new tires on the car just 7 months after we purchased it (the car does have a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty so the tires were covered) and we will have to purchase tires again in the future as he has already begun to wear out the new set. I can say that we are getting our money's worth out of this car!
