Yay!!!,

I got this for my 2 year old son. My oldest boy loves knights and dragons, but my 2 yr old cannot really play with some of his toys. I love Imaginext because there are no real small parts and it creates durable, reasonably priced toys that get their imaginations going. This dragon has a button that allows your child to make it flap it's wings and another to make it "chomp" and it can move its arms legs and tail. All three of my kids loved playing with it (even my 4 yr old daughter). Most of all my 2 year old can play with my oldest together with these and seeing them all playing together makes me very happy.

In my opinion, this is the best preschool dragon. It's not too cutesy (Fisher Price) which is good, because how can your young knight do battle with a happy smiling dragon? It's not too scary, which is good because hello, it's a toy for littles. No batteries needed, another plus. Small size for little hands, and relatively easy for little hands to manipulate the dragon to make it open it's mouth to pretend to breathe fire or operate its wings to fly away.If your preschooler is into knights, get the Imaginex castle too--another wonderful product and better than Playmobile for the under 5's because there are no chokable tiny pieces, nor are there 100 of them!

My son first got this toy when he was around 2 I think. I was afraid that he'd be scared of it since the dragon has claws and a fierce expression, but he loved to make it's wings flap and it's mouth open and close. The toy is pretty sturdy and durable, so it survived being pulled, dropped and thrown across the room.My son is now 4 and he still plays with this toy all the time. He no longer tries to pull open the mouth and slam it against the wall, but instead uses this dragon as the "bad guy" fighting against his Rescue Heroes and Planet Heroes (and sometimes against his Lego Pirates in a battle for the hidden treasure). With no need for batteries, no electronic lights or sounds to break, this toy has brought literally years of imaginative play. I can't say enough good things about the Imaginext line of toys from Fisher Price. Definitely a good choice for preschool aged and up. Nov 2009 update: my son is now 5 and a half, and this dragon has joined forces with a line up of other dragons and dinosaurs (mostly from imaginext). These fierce creatures are now doing battle with Lego pirates, Playmobil knights, Transformers, and even our cats. They have survived show and tell at school, and countless playdates. Still a well loved toy with no signs of slowing down!

My 3 year has so much fun playing with his dragon and his Imaginext Adventures Castle! He plays for hours!! What an imagination! This is much better than video games and TV! The Imaginext toys really help little ones use their imaginations at play time and the toys are durable! The only thing I have to say is that Amazon is WAY OVER PRICED! I bought the dragon at Toys R US for $10.00 and I bought the Castle for $45.00 on Ebay and it was the bonus edition ... had extra pieces.

This dragon toy was purchased as a gift. The little boy was happy to receive it, and still plays with it today. It encourages him to use his imagination for hours of play. The toy is interactive, lights up and makes sounds. A good choice, and a reasonably priced gift idea.

When our 3yo son asked Santa for a Dragon for Christmas my husband & I just about fell over because he'd never talked about dragons previously (I found out later he plays with them at preschool). Frantically, I started my search. Most Dragons are simple plastic toys that have no moving parts, altho' they did fit within our basic requirement of an "open play toy" that allowed my son to use his growing imagination. But this Dragon far exceeds our requirements - it has just enough movement and allows nearly limitless imaginative play. He pretends the Dragon is breathing fire as it moves its head when the bottom lever is pressed and that the Dragon is "flying" (when he presses another lever to make the wings move). The arms, legs, and tail are also positionable. My son has hardly put this toy down, and my 5yo daughter asked "if you can find a Dragon like that next year, I would like one for Christmas."

I probably have more fun with this dragon than my son. We both like it a lot. It has wings that swing up and down. Head and mouth that moves back and forth. Even a mount on its back that you can attach some of the other action figures to. My only complaint is that the dragon has trouble picking things up in its mouth.

We have owned this toy for about 2 years now and being that my son is more into dinosaurs than dragons is likely the reason this isnt brought out as much. But when we do play with it, depending on how silly we want to be or exciting, it is alot of fun. It is really neat that you can move a lever to get its wings to flap and the head to move forward as if it is blowing fire (or if you are being goofy you can pretend its talking about silly things)!
