I really love this seat!, August 25, 2005

This really has been a wonderful addition to our home and our baby always loved this. He would sit and watch the little fishies spin and listen to the music or the bubbling sound effects. He never seemed to be bored! I would feed him in this and after his meal, attach the toy bar and have at least 15 minutes to straighten up and clean up. It worked great for me to catch 10 minutes here and there. Sometimes he would even fall asleep when I would use the vibrating feature.
Luca used this from about 2 months until about 9 months and I changed the batteries 3 times.
I liked having the ability to change the sounds from music to water effects. This bouncer enables you to put it in interactive mode where your infant's movements will cause the toy bar to react with lights and sounds. Perhaps around 5 months,my little guy discovered and really enjoyed this feature. All your baby has to do is wiggle or kick their little feet while seated in this and their little movements will make the toy bar react. You can also switch the toy bar's lights and sounds into a continuous mode. This is great for when your baby is younger.
I was sorry when my son outgrew this because it was something he enjoyed so very much.
Our neighbor is now using it for their 3 month old daughter and they love it as much as we did.
One final and wonderful feature of this is the ease of removing the pad the great way the fabric washes. Mine was always in the washer and dryer and never shrunk or faded! The plastic cleaned extremely well. After 6 months of continuous use and cleaning, this product looks brand new!
Very, very pleased with this!

A must have item, August 2, 2005
Bouncer seats are perhaps one of the greatest baby inventions! This seat is very aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. The lullabies are quite soothing and the vibration seems to have a calming effect on my daughter. I agree that the aquarium bar makes it hard to be face to face with your baby, but odds are good that if your baby's in this seat, you're trying to get something done in your home! And the point is to have her look at the calming sea creatures and bubbles, not you! We had stopped using this when my daughter began sitting up alone around 5mos. However, now that she is 11mos., we pulled it out of the closet in the midst of cleaning and she has rediscovered it, and enjoys it in a whole new way. Although we cannot leave her side when she is in it now because she can topple over as she tries to climb out, she does enjoy having some down time in it and will sit and relax for as long as 20 minutes. I highly recommend this bouncer seat (or another- they're really not all that different and none last for more than a few months- why spend a ridiculous amount of $$?).

Water in tank evaporates over time; how to refill, May 2, 2009
My oldest son (5) loved this bouncer, so did the kid we passed it down to, and so does my youngest son.
It's already been amply reviewed but I thought people might be interested in how it ages:
- active toddlers WILL be fascinated with sitting on the chair part, and torture it until it's no longer safe for infants, so put this toy away promptly when the kids are too big to sit in it (we had to replace the seat after my friend's son broke it)
- the water in the tank evaporates over the years so the bubbles no longer do a good job spinning the starfish, etc.
We refilled the tank ourselves with the following equipment:
phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, heat gun, glue gun (or epoxy), big sterile syringe, sterile water
1. remove toy bar so it's no longer getting power
2. unscrew screws in the white part of the toy bar and open it up. Note the positions of the kick toys and buttons, which will probably fall out while you're trying to refill the tank.
3. on the upper part of the tank, search for the plug for the hole for filling the tank. It's sealed on with something like epoxy or hot glue
4. CAREFULLY blast the plug with heat gun until the sealant is soft enough that the plug can be pried off with flathead screwdriver
5. use the big syringe to top off the tank with more water.
We noticed that the old liquid in there made swirling patterns where it met the new water; we reckon that the old liquid might contain something like glycerin to make it more viscous, or preservatives to keep it from getting yucky
6. reseal the plug onto the tank with hot glue or epoxy... actually we lost the plug so we filled a small plastic button with hot glue and stuck that on... time will tell whether it does a good job sealing the water in
7. try out the toy bar in the seat and rejoice if it works!
8. take it out again and replace the buttons and kick toys (orange fish goes on the right hand side, from infant's point of view. The fish face in, towards each other.) Close up the toy bar.
Hope that helps keep some of these excellent toys out of the landfill!
