I purchased this for my 2.5 year old son who already knows all his colors, basic shapes, the entire alphabet and can count to 10. He really enjoys exercising his knowledge and I thought this toy would be great for further solidifying what he already knows.

That said, I was very disappointed. The toy claims to teach numbers, letters, colors and shapes. Seems like a steal for the price tag. However, it only teaches 4 colors and 4 shapes. That's fine, I can overlook that.. But it claims to have 16 "learning" songs to help your child learn. Most of the songs have absolutely no lyrics whatsoever. I would say at least 12 of them do not. How is that teaching my child anything?

That, and for the 3 or 4 songs that actually DO have lyrics, they are pretty worthless. The alphabet ones do not even go through the entire alphabet, plus the same few songs are used with different lyrics for each of the functions (ie, colors, shapes, letters and numbers all use the same exact songs with different words).

Overall, I think the toy is a dud. If you got this on clearance for half the price, maybe I'd go for that, but not for the price they're asking. My son played with it in very brief spurts and then would ignore it for days. With most new toys he'll usually dedicate a nice chunk of time to it at least for the first week. This one barely got an hour of his attention the entire time we had it (about 3 weeks).

I also thought it worth mentioning that the toy is pretty large. It's got a handle for carrying, but it's pretty heavy and too big for your child to say, play in the car on their lap while you're out running errands or on a car trip. It's shape is bulky and awkward as well, but these are minor complaints compared to what I've already stated.

This toy's biggest strong point is it's durability. FP toys can take a lot of abuse and as the mother of a very active little boy, I greatly appreciate that. Some of the tunes are also catchy, though they would have been much better with actual lyrics..

My grand daughter loves this toy. She is just 2 and is constantly trying to get the microphone out of daddy's Rock Band. Now she can sing to her hearts content and daddy can rest a little easier.

My 2 year old loves to sing! The microphone on this toy is great she just loves it. She also sings the songs now. She's not really into the learning of the shapes and colors but I'm sure as she gets older she will enjoy that aspect as well. But the microphone was a seller for her.

I bought this toy for my nephew for Christmas and he loves it. He is 17 months old and he went crazy for this toy. It makes so many sounds when you touch different parts of it. The DJ sings and moves back and forth and is so cute and entertaining. I loved playing with it before I gave it to him. It also has ABC's, numbers, colors and other educational learning sounds. Great present for a child!

We bought this toy for our 2 year old and he loves it. Our 3 1/2 yr old will also play with it. Its easy to use and the kids love how he moves while playing music. They havent broke it yet so Im going to say its pretty durable

My son got this for his 2nd birthday and loved it. He is now 4 and still plays with it so does his sister who is 2. They both love that they can sing into the microphone. And I love the fact that it has volume control !

This toy was for a mentally handicapped child and it was great. The child was greatly stimulated by the lights and music. I always try and pick a product with some type of learning aspect so this was great!!!

I've purchased the Learning DJ for my nephews. They loved it. Hard not to since there's lots of blinking lights and sound.

You can try toys like this one in the store, so you can judge for yourself if the sound quality is all right or not good enough. I didn't have an issue with the sound at first, but some of the instrument selections on the right such as brass aren't as good as percussion, and you'll find that the do-re-mis are poorly articulated depending on the selected instrument.

The numbers do go up to 15, and the entire alphabet is present, but you must push the arrow buttons to get them all. That wasn't specifically explained in the manual.

The microphone/karaoke feature is negligeable, so don't buy this DJ for this feature.

The cuteness factor is there, but the novelty will wear off.

The music isn't as catchy as it could be overall.

The target age group is entirely off. The real age group for this DJ is 18 months to 3 years, not 2 to 6 as the box states.

My son has tons of fun with this toy. His sister got a karaoke machine for Christmas so I thought he should have a similar toy. He never even messed with "sissy's toy". He was too busy with his. He loves to hear his voice in the mic and he has picked up on some of the tunes and his letter and number recognition. He is learning but is totally clueless because it's fun. Love It!!!!!!
