Product Description

Baby kicks. Music plays. And that's just the beginning of this sweetly styled, oh-so-pink gym. Movable toys on the overhead gym encourage baby to bat and grasp. Move the arch down for tummy-time play, or let baby sit and entertain you with a piano concert. And now with a removable piano, you can take the musical fun wherever you and baby go.

My 3 month old LOVES this play mat. This was our 3rd play mat purchase since the doctor suggested more tummy time, and this is the only one that keeps her attention. She will play on it for at least 15-20 minutes which is unheard of.

The quality is great. We have had it for 1 month now and we have not had anything break or tear up. The toys are entertaining and she enjoys looking at herself in the mirror.

I would highly recommend this play mat to anyone.

My baby loves this mat! She plays, kicks, and coos! She's now growing out of it because she's rolling both ways but it was great from 3 to 4 months!

This toy is fantastic for children. I own another version of the Fisher Price Kick and Play Piano Gym,and it has easily lasted a year without any problems. Here's the review on this specific Pink model.

The toy sets up quickly and easily. It also disconnects quickly and easily. It is lightweight. The gym mat is 3 ft tall and 22" wide. The piano part is 13" wide and 9" tall. The piano contains four pressable white keys (each key is 5" H x 2.5" W). The batteries can be changed by unscrewing the battery part on the back.

The soft flexible bar that holds the toys above, connects easily into the holders, and also disconnects easily. When connected, it stays in place, even when the baby grabs and pulls on the toys. The toys connect and disconnect easily to the bar, and the mat. They also stay in place when connected. There are four toys that connect, and two of them have rattles inside, and the other two offer different play. NOTE: If you connect the flexible bar and the mirror is facing the other way, remove the bar from the holder, slightly twist the connectors on the bar, and turn the bar around. You have to twist the connectors because the bar connects a certain way into the holders.

The music/sounds are pleasant, really good quality, and the audio levels are low and medium, both comfortable levels. There are two audio volume levels, and an off switch. There's also a switch for short play and long play. In short play, each of the piano keys will play a single different sound when pressed followed by a few seconds of music. In Long play, the keys will automatically play music for up to 15 minutes.

The toy is durable. The bottom portion that connects up to the piano is medium thick plastic.

Our very premature seven-month-old (5 mo, adjusted) visibly loves laying and playing on the Kick and Play. She reaches one hand up and joyfully grabs a toy hanging above her head. She kicks her feet and smiles when the music sounds out. My physically developmentally delayed eight-month-old nephew also enjoys laying on it.

It is well put together. Since we got it about a month ago, it's been used extensively but there are no rips or breaks. The individual hanging toys detach and re-attach quite easily. All the different components are removable, which is convenient for storage.

Additionally, the potential age range usage is even higher than may first appear. When baby grows a bit older and is able to sit up on her/his own the piano adjusts orientation such that the keys are flat and playable by hand. Our own child is too small for this still, but it's nice to know that the Kick and Play won't quickly antiquate itself.

My daughter is only 2 months old and she loves spending time on this toy. The pad is cushiony and everything holds together so far. I got this toy because my daughter has very active feet and it works to the T. I also like how it grows with her, although switching from play time and tummy time I don't take the toys off the arch, I just take the arch and lay it on the floor in front of her. But it is real nice that the piano turns so when she sits she can play and when she is even bigger the piano comes off and she can carry it herself. This fits my wants and needs, I would play it again

Here is the sum up right at the beginning - Fisher price has taken a very common baby toy and added another element to it. Sound.

This is one of the most common toys for babies. Lay the baby under it and let them play with the hanging toys. The basic concept is to stimulate them visually and promote movement so they begin learning how to use hand to grab or push. Eventually they fall asleep under it. Win-Win.

This one adds another form of stimulation. There are musically keys that the baby can push with feet. Although depending on how long your baby is, or if they push the keys, they may not be the most used feature. Though as a baby gets a little older (3-6 months) they may get used more.

Finally there isn't a lot of long term durability with any toys like this. The toy companies want you to buy it again for every child. I think the biggest flaw to this one is the price. At a suggested retail price of fifty dollars, I think it is at the high end of the market. Personally I would look to a less expensive one, though it would probably not have the piano keys. Plus to keep it working you always need to have working batteries.

All in all this is a nice toy and if the cost doesn't scare you off your baby will enjoy it! While I don't think it is going to help teach your child to be Liberace, it is an interesting intro to movement and the effects of pushing things.
