Baby kicks. Music plays. And that's just the beginning of this sweetly styled, oh-so-pink gym. Movable toys on the overhead gym encourage baby to bat and grasp. I'm 5 months old now and it feels like I've been stuck in this precrawling stage for an eternity. There you are lying on your back, staring at the ceiling, and nothing is within reach. You keep yelling at your mom or dad to play with you but all they do is stick a pacifier in your mouth or sing out-of-tune songs with made-up lyrics.

Thankfully, my parents got me a toy that I can actually use.
-The arch curves over my head and hangs toys at a perfect height for me to grab.
-The mirror isn't exactly the most flattering but it gets the job done. BTW, I'm a handsome devil.
-The piano keys are difficult to reach and don't really make much sense to me right now but might be cool later in my life.
-When I roll over, I can see the art on the pad. It's no Picasso, but we can't all be geniuses. The pad is made of quality, thick material which helps prevent my vomit from soaking into the floor. Yeah, I love my mom's breast milk and eat way too much of it until I vomit. So sue me.

There are some negatives:
-The overall durability of the toy is good as long as it is handled gently. Unfortunately, I have a couple older siblings who didn't get the memo. They detach the hanging toys which are only held on by C-clamps. Then they run all over the house and leave the toys everywhere. Once I start to mobilize, I'll be able to retrieve them, but until then, my parents have to pick them up for me all the time. It's probably getting a bit annoying for them.
-The arch is easily detachable from the base. I wish it locked in place so my siblings couldn't run around the house swinging it like they are swashbuckling pirates. Seriously, grow up.

Overall, this is a well-made toy that is great for precrawlers like me.

I have twin boys that are currently 3.5 months old. They love playing on this toy side by side. The piano has two modes: the first plays a short ditty when they kick a key, the second plays continuously for several minutes when they kick a key. The dangling toys are really interesting to my kids. They'll play with this toy for quite a while before getting bored. I always put a blanket down on the mat before I put the kids on it because they drool/spit up pretty often and it's easier to wash a blanket and replace it than wash the mat.

My 3 month old LOVES this play mat. This was our 3rd play mat purchase since the doctor suggested more tummy time, and this is the only one that keeps her attention. She will play on it for at least 15-20 minutes which is unheard of.

The quality is great. We have had it for 1 month now and we have not had anything break or tear up. The toys are entertaining and she enjoys looking at herself in the mirror.

I would highly recommend this play mat to anyone.

The little one that used this loved it. Did the entertainment last longer than 15 mins..no, but really I can't expect much more from a toy. The baby loved to kick and hear the music as well as swing his arms and hit the overheard toys. It was very easy to assemble and I felt comfortable enough to walk away from a few minutes without worrying about it toppling over.

The only negative that I can see so far is the mirror. It really isn't in the best place and when the baby tried to bring it closer the arch did bend some to where I had to distract the baby to get everything set back up. After that first try the mirror didn't seem to pose a problem and the baby was happy enough with the toys he could reach.

All in all a great product that I know will last awhile.

This gym is very nice and well thought out. There's not much room to move around as with a Gymini, but this is way more versatile.

The four hanging toys and mirror overhead are nice, but of course the piano is the best part. It has 2 different modes (piano and music) and 2 volume settings. There are four huge keys (the black keys don't play). The gym can even be converted into a tummy time gym, with the toys being attached to the pad for baby to look down at while the piano can still be kicked. Later on when the baby can sit up, they can play the piano sitting up as well.

Needless to say, this gym is best used on carpet instead of hard floor since the pad is thin. When the baby outgrows the gym you can always detach the piano, which is lightweight and has a handle for easy carrying. A worthwhile investment, 5 stars.

Here is the sum up right at the beginning - Fisher price has taken a very common baby toy and added another element to it. Sound.

This is one of the most common toys for babies. Lay the baby under it and let them play with the hanging toys. The basic concept is to stimulate them visually and promote movement so they begin learning how to use hand to grab or push. Eventually they fall asleep under it. Win-Win.

This one adds another form of stimulation. There are musically keys that the baby can push with feet. Although depending on how long your baby is, or if they push the keys, they may not be the most used feature. Though as a baby gets a little older (3-6 months) they may get used more.

Finally there isn't a lot of long term durability with any toys like this. The toy companies want you to buy it again for every child. I think the biggest flaw to this one is the price. At a suggested retail price of fifty dollars, I think it is at the high end of the market. Personally I would look to a less expensive one, though it would probably not have the piano keys. Plus to keep it working you always need to have working batteries.

All in all this is a nice toy and if the cost doesn't scare you off your baby will enjoy it! While I don't think it is going to help teach your child to be Liberace, it is an interesting intro to movement and the effects of pushing things.
