5.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera For Young Kids
My 4 year old got this a few days ago, and he loves it! I liked the two eyehole feature, but he seems to do fine just looking at the back like a regular digital camera to focus on what he wants to take a picture of. It has an automatic flash when needed, a power button, a trash button and two playback buttons. Also has a cord to plug into the computer to download...

It has an automatic flash when needed, a power button, a trash button and two playback buttons. Also has a cord to plug into the computer to download pictures. Very durable and big enough for small pudgy hands to grip onto. It seems to have rubbery stuff on the outside to make it more slip proof as well. This is a perfect 1st camera for young kids in my opinion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get the kidizoom instead!, February 13, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
After reading all the reviews, I chose to get my two year old (she's a very old two) the Kidizoom for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we discovered it was defective and I quickly ran to Toys R Us to get a replacement. All they had was this Fisher Price one, so we got that instead.

This week, I found the Kidizoom for an amazing price and got that one as a 'backup' camera, so I've been able to compare the two.

First of all, the "pictures" that this one takes are laughable. My cell phone takes better pictures by far. The flash is completely spastic, and you can't control when it goes off or doesn't.

When I first imported the photos, I was shocked. I'd heard the pics weren't great, but seriously? They barely register as images.

Also, the button to take pictures is in a really hard place to reach.

The only thing I can say is that it's very sturdy - so if your child is going to hurl the camera around or something ... well, maybe just don't get them a camera at all!

The Kidizoom takes clear shots and you can change all sorts of settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TOUGH, FUN, AND DURABLE LITTLE CAMERA, November 24, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
My youngest granddaughter won second place in our county fair with one of the photos she took on my backup point and shoot. I recently grabbed one of these to encourage her more. The camera's been dropped, tripped over and just about anything else you can think of. She's just turned 7 and is already going to town with this little camera. a great price, too!

Camera is durable and well built. my 3-yr old can operate it by himself and thinks it is fun. However the photo quality is very poor. Even at the highest res the photos are so blurry it's hard to tell the subject. For the money, I would think it would produce at least half decent photos that you can actually print off. I wouldn't buy it again.

3.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it, but the picture quality isn't great., February 9, 2010

My son has so much fun with this easy to use camera. He is almost 4 years old and quickly learned how to take pictures, then view them. He LOVES it! Also, the camera has an automatic shut-off i he leaves it on, which is very helpful. He also likes the sounds it makes when turning on/off and switching modes.

I am not impressed with the quality of the images it produces, but printing these pictures is not really what excites my son. He just likes to have them on the camera to look through.

I'll get the negative out of the way. The picture quality is poor, even when compared to cheap digital cameras. If you're looking for something for your kid to take great pictures, this won't do.

Now, if you're looking to give your toddler/young child something that they can walk around taking a billion pictures of everything (well, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit on the picture count, but I gave my daughter this for Christmas, and by Jan 1, there was over 500 pictures on there), and have it hold up to the usual wear and tear a kid puts on his/her toys, then this is definitely for you!

This camera is extremely durable. It's been dropped down concrete stairs, wooden stairs, and on the sidewalk, thrown at a sibling (who wasn't hurt), attacked by the cat, and knocked off of multiple surfaces around the house, and there's not even a scratch on the thing.

The dual viewfinder is a thing of beauty for little kids, too.

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible quality pictures, even for a kid, December 28, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

We got this based on the fact that it is 1) durable and 2) Fisher Price (normally a trusted brand in our household). For what we paid for it, it seems to be a huge mistake.

Pros:
Durable
Two viewfinders so little kids don't have to shut one eye to take a picture
Flash
Looks nice

Cons:
We have ONE major con. The picture quality is TERRIBLE! They are very dark and grainy. It is hard to see what you take pictures of. My 3 1/2 year old will play with it for a few minutes and then gets bored because the pictures are so hard to make out. Definitely would NOT buy again

2.0 out of 5 stars Screen is too small, December 4, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
My 4yo daughter loves our digital camera (she actually can take really good pictures), so I wanted to buy her a drop-proof digital camera of her own. She literally used it once and then had no interest afterwards. I think this is because the screen is so small and the pictures are grainy and dull in color compared to real digital cameras.

It's a waste of money for a toy camera when the low budget digital cameras are the same price...just unfortunately, the "grown-up" digital cameras are not drop proof.

3.0 out of 5 stars DONT BUY IT - GET THE VTECH KIDZOOM!, September 28, 2010
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
Our daughter got the Vtech a couple years ago. It's so much better! The VTech has backgrounds to overlay on the pics for fun, it has games built in too! AND the resolution is better.

Grandparents made the mistake of buying this Fisher Price camera. It's going back! The pictures are over exposed and look way grainy. There are no features. No games, no backgrounds and it's junk. Taking it back.
