Great potty for keeping in the car, but not suitcase travel,

I bought this potty first because there were a few negative reviews about the much smaller potette (which you can find on Amazon as well..). However, I later bought/used the potette for a trip, so am comparing the two below:
This Fisher price one is big and sturdy, has it's own case, you can use plastic grocery bags or trash bags in it, etc. and it's great for keeping in the car for "kid potty stop emergencies". However, it is pretty bulky and would not be handy for any walking, hiking type excursions (I'm talking about around town, botanical gardens, etc. where it would be inappropriate to let them potty in the grass/nature areas & where public toilets are either absent or gross). The potette however, is perfect for such things - it's much smaller, has handy bags with absorbent pads, and comes in it's own little bag. The pottette is maybe 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick and 7x7 inches when folded into its bag - easy to stick in your backpack or even a bigger purse. The Fisher price on-the-go potty is significantly bigger! When folded up into it's case it is about 12-14 by 12-14 inches in size and 5-6 inches thick. Not good for a purse at all, and takes up a lot of room in a backpack or suitcase if traveling. It does come with it's own handle and shoulder strap, but why lug such a big thing around when the potette will fit directly into your purse or pack? And the potette doesn't weigh anything at all while this might add a pound or two to your load. We recently went on a cruise from Puerto Rico down through the southern Caribbean. The potette potty was PERFECT!! We went to many national monuments, parks, a volcano & other outdoor sites which had NO public toilets (or super gross hole in the ground toilets) - we easily set up the pottete and the problem was immediately resolved. It's easy to remove the baggie and tie it up so you can avoid potential messes until you find a trash can. The potette was AMAZINGLY portable and handy for our 3 year old! TAKE HOME MESSAGE: The FP potty-on-the-go is great for in your car, but buy the potette for travel where you want to carry a kiddie potty on your person!

This is the best On-the-Go Potty,
This review is from: Fisher-Price Potty On-the-Go (Baby Product)
I have this On the Go Potty and love it. It is a bit bulky and does not fit in the basket of my Maclaren umbrella stroller so I purchased the the Potty Bench which folds more compactly.
While the potty bench Travel Potty has a storage for wipes or tissues on the side it is rather small and now that my daughter is getting older (3 1/2) she already seems to be getting to big for it. Sometimes she pees right over the ring as it is very small and then it is a mess to clean up. It uses 1 gallon storage bags which also sometimes leak. Since it does not have its own storage bag, it tends to get a little dirty sliding around the back of our SUV. I usually find a Cheerio or Cheese Nip when I open it up. I much prefer this Fisher Price On-the-Go Potty. The bag has the storage for wipes, TP, and Purell wipes for our hands. Would highly recommend this one. I use the very small Hefty garbage can liners which have never leaked for me. I usually throw a few napkins in the bottom to absorb the urine so that clean up and throw away is easier. As for storage, it hangs right over the handle of the stroller.

I highly recommend this potty.
I ordered this potty for "emergencies" (e.g. roadtrips and outings at remote locals). However, my daughter likes it so much we use it a lot more than I thought we would. Very easy to assemble and dismantle. The On-the-go-potty comes with supplies but then you can buy a box of disposable nursing pads for absorption and a pack of 4 gallon trash bags and that should last a very long time.

Mrs. Potty Mom in Winter Springs FL,

I saw this on fisher price sight and I fell in love with it! I was able to find it @ Toys-r-us store. My 3 y.o daughter seems to love it too! It comes with a carry on so you can take it anywhere. I usually keep it in the back of my suv.
It's especially very convenient when there is no place to stop when she really has to go . I just pull over in a parking lot, open it and she sits in it and goes! It helps avoid accidents in her car seat. The only drawback though is that it has a built in cup. It's not removable. My daughter doesn't seem to mind it. I don't know if fisher price makes one for little girls.

I purchased The Go Potty for road trips, trips to the mall or other places, and I love it. Its a relief that my two year old does not have to use a public restroom. This is a very good purchase and well worth the money.

We got this potty for our two year old and have nothing but good things to say about it! What a wonderful idea, leave it to Fisher Price!! Its compact enough to fit in our Peg Perego P3 stroller's basket, holds wipes and extra bags in it's OWN bag, strong enough for our 6yr old to use in emergencies, lighweight, can use any type of bag-recycle grocery bags!!, and a built in deflector for boys-WHAT A LIFESAVER! The first day we had it we must have used it at least 5 times, we just set it up in the back of the SUV and no need to find a gas station-it's great!! One thing I must note, I see no need to use the absorbent pads, just tie up the bag and toss it. One downside is that they are SO hard to find, I called a dozen stores in our area and NO ONE had them so we had to order online. My cousins saw the potty and are ordering one for their toddler also!
***UPDATE*** I called F-P to see what the weight limit is for this potty and they told me they had a 200lb person sit on it with NO PROBLEM!! WOW, we will be using this potty for a LONG LONG time!! We love it so much we got a second one so we have one in each car. Wonderful product worth every penny!!

Opening so very tiny! Girls only!,

I am so disappointed in this product. My son is 16 months and well on his way to being potty trained. I needed something for travel and after reading the reviews, thought that I had found the perfect potty to keep in my car/take shopping. I do like how that the potty is sturdy and comes with its own carrying bag, but that is where my happiness with this product ends. From the description and reviews, I really thought that this seat was generous as far as travel potties go.
My son is average, 33" tall, 28 pounds, but he does not fit over the opening! In order for his "boy parts" to comfortably fit, he has to be sitting so far back that he looks like he's about to fall off the back! I don't know what he would do if he had to go #2. For measurements, the opening is approximately 4.5"x6" at the widest point of width and length. I will be returning this and sticking our regular Froggy potty in my car. This potty may work fine for girls, but I absolutely do not recommend this for a boy.

Great Idea,
This review is from: Fisher-Price Potty On-the-Go (Baby Product)
I looked at both this and the other smaller one. I went with this one and then got one of the travel seat covers. This potty is the greatest for trips or when you are not near a rest room. My 2 year old, which i have used this to potty tran her and i am able to pull over anywhere and let her go with out havig to tell to hold it any longer then it takes me to pull over. I just keep it in which ever of our two cars we are in that day. However i have not carried it around with us i use the seat that folds up for her and keep that in her bag which in now a little back pack with the potty seat a change of pants just in case and any other tp etc we need, and she carrys it.

This potty has been great! My 3 year old daughter loves it and therefore, so do I. It's so easy and fast to set up and we use it far more often than I anticipated. I originally purchased this potty for 'emergency' use only, however, I've found we use it when public restrooms are unsanitary, on road trips, or just in the grocery store parking lot when the need arises and it's just not convenient to go back inside. The potty comes with bags and pads and when I ran out I just bought some smaller, thicker trash bags that work great! It comes in a handy travel case that just slides right under the car seat. I would totally recommend this potty.

I just love it!,
This review is from: Fisher-Price Potty On-the-Go (Baby Product)
My 18mos. daughter using this potty about 3 weeks now, when we go out and she love it. We use it on the trip, when we go out to the playground or just to shop. We don't have to use public restrooms it is hard any way and not clean enough. This potty always clean since no one else using it. Easy to open it and fold it. It fits all kind of bags example garbage bags or plastic shopping bags are good too. It's all worth it!
