3.0 out of 5 stars Not enough friction
As others have suggested, the lion moves too quickly (at least on hardwood floors) for a beginning walker to manage. Our 11-1/2 month-old, however, solved the problem by turning the lion sideways and pushing. She loves it, and it hasn't scratched up the floors at all. She can manage it from behind on deep-pile rugs, but I think the angle she uses to push it sideways is...

No doubt in my mind that she'll be walking soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lion Pre-Walker, January 18, 2009

I bought this toy/walker to encourage and aide pre-toddler (9 mos & up) with learning to walk. It's adorable, yet still too light and easily tips over. So, I placed three (3) 16 OZ. canned products in space under the seat (in raised position for walking - baby can NOT get them out). This has helped weigh it down to the point where she can now use it to support her rather than tip over. She enjoys putting her Elmo on the seat and pushing him around and getting lots of assisted walking practice. Pressing nose makes music. Easy to assemble and seems fairly sturdy. Feel she will also enjoy being able to sit and ride fairly soon.

We bought this for our little girl when she was 8 months old. The lion is very cute, has a big purple nose that lights up when pushed, and it plays music. It really encouraged our daughter to walk and within a couple of weeks she was walking without holding onto anything. Now she's 13 months old and uses it as a ride on toy. You don't have to push the nose in order to get the music to play, sometimes it plays when you push it around. Great toy, highly recommend!

This is a great walker. I was hesitant to buy it at first since I found other walkers that had brakes on the wheels and this one does not. That has not seemed to make a difference however, as my 8 1/2 month old son has learned very quickly how to push it without letting it get away from him. I purchased this a little over a week ago and my son is fixated on this and wants to "walk" everywhere with it. It has a wide wheel base and is very sturdy. Great walker!

2.0 out of 5 stars A boring toy, especially for the price, May 29, 2008

I am surprised that this toy has an average rating of four stars. My daughter received this toy for Christmas when she was 9 months old and on the verge of walking. It is very cute, but for the price is very boring. All it does, except being a walker, is play music when you hit the tiger on the nose. And now that we have converted it to its ride-on toy mode, we find that it is less than stellar in that capacity, also. The wheels stick out from the toy, and so hit her feet and encumber her movement. We received this as a gift at a Christmas party, so my husband did not want to pack up the box for the drive, but if we did, I would have returned this walker a long time ago. I saw a V-Tech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker at Toys-R-Us for about the same price that looks much, much more interesting than this walker. It doesn't convert to a ride-on toy, but as I mentioned earlier, this one doesn't convert to a GOOD ride-on toy, either. (For a good ride-on toy from Fisher-Price, see the Little People School Bus ride-on toy - it is wonderful.)

Stride-to-Ride™ Lion

My one year old grandson loves to push his lion in his efforts to walk, which he still cannot do without holding on. This toy enables him to walk forward while still giving him the support he needs. His four year old sister "shares" the toy with him by using it as a ride on.

My son is learning how to walk and I think this is a great toy to help with that. He has only used the push behind option but I'm excited it still has lots of use ahead as a sit on toy.

Our son loves his lion. He is now 11 months old, he pushes it all over the house. He and Lion go on many fun adventures. I think this is one of his favorite toys. It plays music when you press it's nose, however it's also pretty easy to turn that feature off for quieter play.

1.0 out of 5 stars My son fell on it right away., February 18, 2010

I bought this today for my 10 months old son, who is pretty stable standing while holding on to things and is starting to take a few steps along the couch etc. I thought this would be a great toy to encourage him to walk more and become more stable.
He had trouble pulling himself up on it, because it tipped over on him or rolled away. I held it for him and he finally pulled himself up. As soon as he tried to take a step, the thing rolled away and he fell on his face (well, I caught him, but he would have fallen right on the back wheel). After that he seemed almost scared of the toy.
The music is cute, but that's about the only thing that I liked about this toy. I already have it packed up and it is going back to the store today.
