My 16 month old's favorite new toy,

My son loves this pony. He bounces a ton with it and has a great time. We had a playdate this weekend and it was the favorite toy with all the 12-18 month olds I know. I will say I'm not crazy about the tv part. When we put it on, it didn't seem to do much, the graphics were just ok, and my son just wanted to get off his pony and sit staring at the tv. I put the video part away in the closet and he just happily bounces on the pony now instead.
Now that we've had it for two weeks, it's not the kind of thing that will hold his attention for long spans of time like the little people farm does, but he does have a lot of fun on it for a few minutes a couple times a day.

I bought this for my daughter's first birthday because it says it is best for 12mos - 3 years. I LOVED the idea of her being able to have something interactive with the TV that would also allow her to bounce.
The biggest complaint I have is that it really doesn't bounce that much. It does spin, but not that easily. It doesn't even rock back and forth. My daughter couldn't get it to move much, so there wasn't much going on on the tv. I don't think it's that she's not heavy enough- she weighs 22 lbs. If that's the case, they should change the age range. She absolutely loves bouncing, but this thing doesn't really bounce. Too bad...I'm going to have to return it.

My 2 year old son LOVEs his Smart Bounce and Spin Pony and he understands that the more he bounces and spins the more the animations react and provide fun learning. Sometimes I take it out to the porch where it also works without the TV...Very Fun...he pretends to feed it...so cute!

Fun Toy--Maybe I should've bought the more basic version,

My 19-month-old son, who is very energetic, really liked this toy, especially when it was new. He would get on it and bounce like crazy, but he never really seemed to get the connection to the television. I think he most likes the music and the sounds that it makes when he gets on and plays. He enjoys the toy alot, but I think he would have enjoyed the more basic Bounce and Spin Pony just as much and it wouldn't have cost as much or been as much hassle for us.
The box that connects to the television requires batteries, which I don't understand. If it is going to be connected to your television anyway, they could have just included a power cord and it would've been able to be plugged in right next to the TV. Be sure that you have a way to connect it to the TV as well. Between the DVD player and the cable box, we had to go out and buy a switching box to be able to connect it to the television. First I bought Y connectors, but that didn't work because even with my DVD player off, there was interference in the audio and we couldn't hear the sound from the Smart Bounce and Spin Pony's television component. Once we bought the swiching box (a box that allows you to connect several components to your TV through the same audio/video connections--about $15) and got it set up properly, it works very well, but my son doesn't seem to notice that there is a relationship between what he does on the Pony and what happens on the TV. I think one reason for this is that the connection doesn't always work. I mean that not every time he does something on the pony does the video respond (kind of like a faulty remote). So all in all, I wish we had just bought the more basic Bounce and Spin Pony and saved a little money. As far as durablility goes, we have only had it for about 6 weeks but, my son has jumped on it pretty hard and it doesn't seem to have harmed the toy. Although setting up the video component was complicated for us, putting the actual toy together was fairly quick and straightforward. All in all I think it is a good product. I'm not really sure about the video component. Maybe it isn't well designed to get the child's attention and make them understand the connection, or maybe it is just my son.

I do home daycare so I figured this would be an excellent way to incorporate education and fun into my toddlers' daily experience. I was wrong. Although the kids love to play on the pony, the TV part of it seems useless. The kids are so enthrawled with the pony that the TV just fades into the distance for them. Even my [...] gets frustrated when I ask her to look up and see what the TV is doing while she rides. The concept is great, don't get me wrong. I just think it needs a lot of improvement.

My 13mo was so afraid of it at first but his big brother, who is 3yo, did an awesome demonstration for him. Now he gets on and actually caught on how it works pretty quickly. The cause and effect kept his attention and he is very excited when he is playing on it.
The different levels allows my 3yo to play for a little while but he goes through the activities too quickly. That's OK with me because now I don't have to worry about them fighting over it. I also love the fact that it is cordless. Nice product!!!

I purchased this for my one year old nephew, HE LOVES IT !!!We have lots of fun. What his mom likes is that it grows with him. She also likes the fact that it does not have to be used with the TV. It can be ridden as a pony alone,or hooked up too the TV for it's learning features.

I have a 3 year old and a 19 month old and both of them ran to this toy at first. They both like sitting on it but neither of them were interested in the TV parts and it squeaked pretty bad. I love the idea but it takes up a lot of room for as little as they sit on it sometimes.

My son wouldn't even let me finish screwing in the handlebars before he jumped on and started riding his pony. We haven't tried the interactive function with the TV yet, but I have high hopes for it.

My 14mo old daugher likes this toy and gets on it at least once or twice a day but not for long. She won't just bounce on it but instead insists that the TV be on with it. She bounces for awhile but usually spends more time changing settings from the buttons located on the horse. I wish it would bounce easier and maybe rock back and forth. My daughter loses interest fast, maybe she'll grow into it.
