I bought this for my 21 month old son about 3 weeks ago and I am not kidding he has not stopped playing with it since. He has every toy under the sun and is pretty much only interested in this one since bringing it home. HE actually found it at the store and taught himself how to work the display. It comes with a software cartride that has Dora the Explorer, Sesame street (Elmo) and Sponge Bob, this sampler is one of the best ones, just awesome. Hubby and I know all the songs now and my son has become a master dancer at this point. From the second he started playing (he likes to play with it standing) he started shaking his booty like there was no tomorrow (cutest thing you've ever seen). He loves that he has the control to choose which "page" he wants to be on and which song he want to here. The interactive touch screen is FANTASTIC and works perfectly every time. The microphone may be the best childs microphone we've ever seen, it works great and he loves that he can record himself on this. We now own ALL the cartridges and every single one is fantastic. Each cartridge teaches something new, and he truly uses every single one every single day. My son has learned so much since playing with this and really enjoys learning. I cannot recommend this more highly especially if your child loves music as does mine. This toy is a MUST HAVE!

When visiting her older cousins, my daughter got to play with this toy, which belonged to my 3 year old nephew. He is special needs, and can be VERY hard on toys. He would drop it, throw it and step on it on an hourly basis. The fact that it still worked like a champ after at least 6 months of him owning it was a miracle in itself.

They sent us one as a gift for my daughter, 13 months, after seeing how much she liked it, and she cannot get enough of this toy!

I love that it is durable, literally - she stands on it sometimes, and it's fallen I don't know how many times. It's not too big for her to carry around or manipulate, and she figured out how to work it immediately.

For now just listening to the songs, watching the screen rotate and making noises into the microphone keeps her happy. But her older cousins love the educational games on the cartridges they have, and really get a kick out of singing into the microphone.

The cartridges are big and sturdy, and easy for a child to put in himself if they are old enough.

It would be nice if the microphone cord were longer, but I'm guessing it would be a safety hazard to make it longer. Teh speaker is REALLY loud but some clear packing tape over it muffled it enough for our comfort. A lower volume control would be nice.

Overall, I've seen it work for a 13 month old, 3 year old and a 5 year old. If it broke I would replae it immediately, only one other toy we own gets more mileage.

I was very disappointed when I saw that the original LTM toy was discontinued and sold out at all stores and only the LTM Plus was available. I went to the store to test it out and was disappointed by the demo...thought it was pretty boring for the money. But I decided to buy it anyway and I am very glad I did. We took it out of the box last night and tested it out (out of demo mode) and now I can't wait for my 18 month old daughter to play with it Christmas morning! We originally thought of buying it beause she liked the original LTM so much that she sat on a strangers lap at Target to play with it...VERY fun toy!

My daughter got this for birthday 3 months ago (2 years old) and plays with it nearly every day, for up to half an hour at a time. She got the non-plus version that does not record your voice and play it back - and I don't think she's missing anything. Hers came with the Elmo scavenger hunt and we bought Dora's music festival adventure. She is a hugh Dora fan. Both tapes get a lot of use. This toy is easy enough for her to use alone, though she likes to share it with her grandparents (not me, hummm.) Anyway, she loves it.

My 2 1/2 year old son loves this toy. He plays with it nonstop for a couple hours. I have bought all the different cartridges for it and they are all educational and fun. However, we are on our third one in about the past year. The first one we had maybe six months and it started to make strange noises, and the touch screen wasn't working properly. The second one worked fine in the store but almost as soon as we got it home, the touch screen stopped working completely. The only reason we got a third one is because he likes it so much. I just wish it was more durable!

My son is an active two-year-old who loves to run around and I was surprised by how much he was captivated by this toy. He receives hours of enjoyment and has learned so much from his Learn Through Music Plus system. He has several of the software cartridges and he likes each one, especially Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clue's Singing Playdate. However, as much as he enjoys the software cartridges, his favorite aspect of this toy is the microphone. He records himself singing along with the cartridges, saying his name and reciting numbers and the alphabet.

Please note that my review is based on my daughter's experience from 18-21 months old. It was purchased for her as a gift. As a mother and an educator, I think that this product would be better suited for an older child as it is quite hard for a child younger than the age of 2 or even 2 1/2 to sustain the attention needed to interact with the games, etc. I would recommend waiting to purchase this for your 18 month old. I am an advocate for Fisher Price products as I feel Fisher Price is pretty accurate in guiding parents to age appropriate toys. However, with this one I feel they missed the mark. In addtion, the screen is simply too dull and dark in color to really see exactly what you are pushing. For this reason, I personally would not have bought this toy.

We received this as a gift for our 2 1/2 year old. Like others I felt the screen was dark and hard to see. But since it was a gift I decided to buy a few additional cartridges. Within two months the forward and reverse buttons were not working correctly. The cartridges were messed up and the toy was not reading the page we were on. We tried new batteries, taking the cartridges apart and re-rolling the tape, nothing worked.

My daughter enjoyed the songs while it worked but would get frustrated when she reached the last frame on the tape it and it would automatically rewind.

IT was fun, but did not last long enough to justify the expnes. If I could give it a 0 for durability I would.

I bought this for my 3 year old neice, she loves it. She received MANY toys at her birthday party however she spent over an hour during her party playing with it. It is a wonderful and fun learning tool.

I purchased this for my 25 month old daughter for Christmas. She seemed to really like it so I purchased just about every tape that goes with it. Unfortunately, less than 2 months later the forward and rewind buttons quit working. This is not a very durable toy as my daughter really didn't use it but once and awhile. In addition, the screen is extremely difficult to see. I would not purchase this product again in the future.
