5.0 out of 5 stars This one got us HOOKED on the Little People
This has become one of my favorite toys. My daughter just turned 1 and she adores it. it comes with the mother and a baby in a car seat as well as her stroller. The van has eyes which move when the wheels spin and you can honk the horn. It also palys the music to If You're Happy And You Know It.... when the horn is honked again. It does seem a bit loud but it plays for...

3.0 out of 5 stars BEEP BEEP!!
It is a cute toy to play with for the kids....on the noise level-it is rather on the loud side-and sometimes annoying, especially when it says VA VA VAROOOOM BUM BUM BUM VAROOOM(in an annoying womans voice) overall it is a fun toy.

It does seem a bit loud but it plays for only a short time when pressed. My daughter can't fit them in properly yet but she gets them in the car and pushes it around anyway. I love this toy because it is one of the few for children her age that lets her use her imagination. I will be picking up the Little People Zoo or Barn next since my daughter loves animals. This toy is durable and easy to clean. It can also be taken everywhere since it is a good size to carry along. The only thing that bothers me is that my daughter always throws the mom on the floor and plays with the baby. Is she trying to tell me something ;-))??

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun to use with Little People, August 17, 2004

We purchased for dd when approx 1 yr of age. At first she was only slightly interested in the car part and even less interested in the fact that it played music and that she could place people in the car. However in about a month, it became a favorite of her's. We always bring along on trips to Grandma & Grandpa's as we know it's sure to occupy time and spur creativity.

PROS:
- Small enough & Light enough for little ones to push around easily
- Play several catchy tunes such as London Bridges and If You're Happy and You Know it, in addition to a few sounds (ie car noises, a horn honking)
- Hatch that opens in the back to place buggy (or wheel chair from the Little People Bus Set) or to place/ remove People from car
- Large Window and Roof openings to place/ remove People from car
- Comes with a few "people" and can be used inter-changable with other Little People sets
- "MegaBlocks" Disney Block Buddies fit in the car seats also (we happen to have the piglet, pooh and tigger set)

CONS:
- PINK IN COLOR ! Not very gender nuetral.
- Sometimes it's hard to place/ remove People from the car, as their arms get stuck in the window and roof openings.
- Depending on which People you try to place in the car, 2 people that have arms extended on each side of their bodies do not fit next to each other in the front seat, which frustrates dd.
- Music is slightly loud, however not to the point that I'm putting cotton in my ears :)

OVERALL THIS TOY HAS GOTTEN A LOT OF USE IN OUR FAMILY AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute... but really loud!, January 28, 2004

This little mini van is very cute, and my 3-year old daughter loves it. Being a music nut, she especially likes to push the button and play the song. I do wish the van had a volume control, though, because it's REALLY loud! This seems to be an issue with a number of Fisher-Price toys, like the Little People Ferris Wheel / Carnival set. The van is also pretty sturdily built, except for the open-able tailgate, which my daughter took off almost immediately. Again, I've had this sort of problem with other Little People toys' doors. This isn't a big deal, and it certainly doesn't affect the toy in any other way. It's also fun to use the mom and baby with other Little People sets, and vice versa. All in all, an above-average toy.

My daughter has loved this car since the day we bought it. The thing that first got her attention were the sounds. She loved to hear the baby laughing and the horn honking. She also liked the "engine" sounds. She loves to just push the car around and even puts the mom in the stroller and acts like it's a car too! It is such a great, fun toy at a super price.

This Melody Mini Van is very entertaining for the child and keeps them entertained for hours. It is very safe for the child and can be used with various little people items. I recommend it very highly!!! It can get a little irritating if you stand there and listen to it for a long time, but the child loves it.

Our One Year loves this toy. She started playing with our 4 year old boys cars and so I got this for her to not only be a bigger car to push around but for her to start a collection of Little People...she drags it everywhere and loves the music. She has even packed the figures in the van as to give the whole neighborhood a ride. She somehow figured out that the back door opens and put the baby stroller in and then closed it...I didnt even show her, so it is educational in that it teaches a child all about a car. I would reccomend this item to anyone it is cute and fun and our volume is not too loud as others have said, and I am pretty allergic when it comes to loud noises!

4.0 out of 5 stars great wheels!, October 2, 2003

My 11 month old was facinated by anything with wheels, but it was really hard to find a car for babies. We found this minivan, and it seemed a great introduction to the Little People collection.

The car comes with Linda the mom, Ashley the baby, and a stroller. Although my baby does not understand role play yet, she is happy to put the 'family' in and out of the car, and push it around the floor.

The only two things that I did not like about this were: the bright PINK of the car. And the music is SO loud, with no volume control to tone it down. It plays two songs and giggles, says vroom vroom and beeps the horn. I might take the batteries out... :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvolous Mini Van, June 6, 2004

This mini van deserves 5 stars overall because I can pretend that it drives anywhere! The grocery bag can make the people go to the grocery store and home if you have the sweet sounds home. The possibilities are endless. It is education valued because it shows safety-for instance: the baby in the carseat. It scored 4 stars on duradility because the trunk came off a few times. Otherwise, I LOVE it!

I saw that some parents only put 1 star for educational. So not true! This toy is one of the first toys that my daughter was able to learn how to put and take. She loves to put the mom and baby in and out of the car. She even knows to put the baby in the back, mom in the front. Also she never could understand how to push buttons until this toy. Now she tries to push everything that looks like a button. She is 10 months old and I have never seen her play this way before. A great toy!
