Fisher-Price Little People Lil' Movers Airplane

Amazon.com

"Ready for take-off…here we go!" Diminutive pilots in training can let their imagination take flight with this stocky, swooshy, wiggly-wobbly airplane. Measuring 12 inches nose to tail, and 8 inches from wingtip to wingtip, this sturdy plastic plane features a pilot, two passengers, a piece of luggage, a door that opens, six windows, including the pilot’s windshield, a handle over the cut-out top, working wheels (which make the pilot and passengers go up and down as if encountering turbulence), and the obligatory face on the front of the craft. Push down on the pilot in her seat (yes, her seat…we are in the 21st century, you know!) for flashing lights, a tune, flight attendant commentary, and swooshing airplane sounds. Judging from the outfits of the passengers and the palm tree design on the wings, this aircraft seems to be headed for a tropical port--airport, that is. What’s not to love? Check out the entire line of Lil’ Movers vehicles. Three AA batteries required (not included). (Ages 18 months to 3 years) --Emilie Coulter

My son got this plane when he was 19 months old. For several months now, he has been very much into cars, trains and airplanes. I got an email from Fisher Price showing this and other new toys. I let my son watch the demo for the airplane and he was hooked.

The airplane comes with a pilot, two passengers and a piece of luggage. Two of the three passenger seats as well as the pilot's seat move up and down as the plane is pushed along the ground. The plane has a side door which opens and the top is cut out for easy access to the passenger seating. When the pilot is pressed down, the plane makes noises, says a welcome to your flight message or plays a cute song. Red lights at the base of the wings flash in conjuction with the sounds.

This airplane is rather big compared to many Little People toys. It is about 12 inches long, 8 inches high and 8 inches wide. It's a little bit on the heavy side too, but a handle across the top makes it easy for my son to lift it for pretend flights through the air.

My daughter got this for her first birthday along with a bunch of other "Little People" toys. She loves them all, but the airplane is obviously her favorite. After three months she still loves carrying it around by the handle and playing the music and sounds. It's very durable because she's dropped it numerous times and it shows no signs of wear and tear. I've recommended this to friends and family with young ones. Now I'm recommending it to everyone here on Amazon.

I would recommend comparison shopping(I bought one at Target for about 16 dollars), but this is a really great purchase. My daughter is 2, and this is one of her very favorite toys. Not only does she play with it, but she uses the airplane to carry her "people" with her on car trips. During play dates, this is definitely one toy that gets used most of the time!

My 1-year-old daughter received this plane as a birthday gift and she loves it! She'll sit and play with it for a long stretch of time (amazing!).

It's easy for even the tiniest fingers to operate and she dances every time she hears the song!

Our kids have loved the Fisher-Price Little People toys, including this one. I wish that they'd design their doors a little better. Both this airplane door and the school bus door easily pull off, and are then easy to lose. That's not a major issue, though. The main problem is Fisher-Price's use of Hong Kong-based GP Greencell batteries, which other manufacturers use as well. These batteries are nearly worthless. If you leave them in your children's toys, any electronic features will become worthless as well. Every one of these that I've replaced has exploded, which in many cases destroys the circuitry and/or battery terminals to leave you with a toy that won't produce lights or sounds any longer. My strong recommendation is to replace these batteries as soon as your child opens the toy. Fisher-Price and others should either pressure GPI International Ltd. (HK) to produce quality batteries or else contract with a reputable battery manufacturer (although perhaps they know this and expect you to purchase replacement toys once the supplied batteries explode...?!). For this reason, which has happened repeatedly, I only rate this toy with three stars (durability and overall rating).

He gets hours and hours of play time out of all his little people toys each week (sometimes each day) but I really like this one because he loves to take his toys out of his room and into the living room and there is no carpet in the hall from his room to the living room and same goes for the living room and because of that I'd rather him "fly his plane" to the living room than to "drive his little people school bus" to the living room. I also like that it has a handle because it makes it much easy for him to grib and not drop it. All in all I love all this little people toys. They are all made very well. Fisher price thinks of everything.

My 2yr old recieved this item for her birthday and absolutely loves it. The aircraft makes several cute noises including the "bong bong" noise when flight attendents are being notified it's time to start moving.

The figures include a pilot, a passenger and an arrivals team member ready to greet the inbound passengers. This is great toy and especially good if your little one flies a lot or has an attraction to airplanes.

I would suggest buyers search for a good price online because some retailers (uh-um) tend to mark this item up 2-3 times higher than other merchants. Try the manufacturers website for a good deal.

I bought this for my 21 month old son who loves airplanes. He enjoys the sounds & song it plays when pushing the pilot down, and likes the up and down motion when rolling the plane on the ground, and opening and closing the door. Altho he generally plays really well by himself, this toy doesn't hold his interest too long. When i play with him, he will use it more, but he is really into moving parts, and this only has a door that opens and the people who move. So, if your child isn't so into moving and manipulating parts of a toy, this would be great. He does enjoy it here and there, but he totally prefers Mr. Potato Head becuase it is much more interactive.
