This toy is very attractive, but it's a pain. The circular part of the track never stays in place and is always somewhere else in the house besides where the toy is. Also, the part that drops the cars onto the track also falls off easily. Small children don't know how to reattach the parts to you are constantly putting it back together. The ferris wheel detaches constantly also and the merry-go-round flings the people out. Totally frustrating toy for small children and it is usually ignored, in pieces, and I personally hate the thing. We all love the other toys, (ie. farm, house, fire dept) but this one falls below expectations in a major way. We suggest you buy another toy. :(

The roller coaster that wouldn't.,

Although my 2 year old occasionally played with this toy, he found out early he could remove the track simply. Do this a few times and the track doesn't hold true anymore and the cars won't make the loop...if Six Flags had these kind of problems with their roller coasters, they'd be out of business. Well, once the roller coaster wouldn't work, it became a source of frustration for him and we had to remove it from his room. The other 'rides' didn't interest him very much, and he much prefers the old stand by of his farm, schoolbus, and city.

I hesitated to buy this toy because of the negative reviews listed here, but when a friend offered to buy this for my 1 year old's birthday, I agreed. She loves all the little people toys. Although I have to put the cars on the track and help her get them started, she loves to watch them go. She also loves to put the people on and off the ferris wheel and watch me make it go.I have had no problems with the cars staying on the track and I find if they start going slow, I just wipe the whole track with a diaper wipe and the zoom along again. This is a cute toy.

I agree that the loop only occasionally works for my children so now they don't play with it at all. It does come with a piece of paper that tells you how to keep the loop in working order, but the suggestions don't really work. Also, the people don't stay on the airplane ride when my children turn it. The only part they like is the ferris wheel. Once I get over spending the money on a toy they played with about 10-15 times I am sending it to a thrift store.

I have to say this is the least played with set we have. And we have A LOT of little people. It is really a cute idea and when it is played with my daughter likes it, but the cars don't stay on very well or they don't make it all the way to the end of the ramp and out of the clown's mouth. It is also very large and although the pieces store inside it, it takes up a lot of room for storage.

This set looks like a lot of fun, but it is just not all I expected, nor what my kids like. The parts come off way to easily (ie: the ferris wheel and swings), the cars do not do the loopydyloop very well, leading to frustration, you have to get it on JUST RIGHT and even than...it doesn't usually work, even for an adult. This toy is hardly ever played with, it lost its appeal the week that my daughter got it for her first birthday a year ago and has hardly been touched since. Usually the little people sets have been a winner, but this one is not worth the money and space it takes up. Unfortunately it is rather large, and when a toy that large is not played with...well I consider it a waste of space. The Little People Farm set is played with on regular basis as well as the bus and safari set. We have the sets from a few years ago when Fisher price didn't have to put noises on ALL their toys! BUT, that is a pet peave that I won't go into today.

My two-year-old daughter received this for Christmas and the things that most people find negative about it I see as positives. I am glad it doesn't play music; it gives my daughter an opportunity to use her imagination and sing songs herself as the Little People ride the rides. (Besides, it is one less toy to get batteries for.) And while I understand that it can be frustrating for kids to get the wheels of the car between the tracks, I think it has improved my daughter's dexterity. (She can do it with no problem now.) And no, this toy may not teach the alphabet or numbers, but it is educational in the sense that children can imitate their own real-life experiences at an amusement park. And yes, the rides come off, but being detachable is a bonus as far as I'm concerned because it is much easier transporting the ferris wheel and airplane ride to Nana's house than bringing the whole toy. I must agree that the seats are poorly designed because the people fly right out, but experiment with the people. Some of them have smaller holes on the bottom than others and fit better on the ferris wheel. (My daughter has turned the people falling out into a rescue scenario. Cheryl the Paramedic comes and patches the victims up.) AS far as quality goes, we are lucky in that we haven't experienced the same problems others have. Nothing has come apart or broken; the rollercoaster works every time. But I have to admit, the plastic is a little flimsy. If you are concerned about durability, there is a new Little People musical ferris wheel out now and a new Little People Fun Sounds Park that has a tea cup ride and a smaller roller coaster.

Let me start out by saying I am a big fan of little people & had them as a child & have bought them for my child. BUT I really dislike this toy!! It looks like lots of fun but the cars won't loop the loop & stay on the track which is pretty much the whole idea of the toy. The ferris wheel & swing are mildly entertaining but my daughter ignored the entire set until she realized that some (& only some) of her hot wheels cars will run the loop completely. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay a dime for this toy as I got it free from a Pampers giveaway but unfortunately my belief in Little people has been tainted & I will be more careful when purchasing them. I really thought their standards were higher but I guess this one slipped through their qc department!!!

I bought this when my daughter was about 17 months old and she loved it. My two and a half year old liked it too but it held my younger childs interest longer. She was able to use all of the peices- they were perfect for her level of dexterity. The loop-the-loop really does work- even if you use toy cars on it. And in the classic Fisher Price style, there is a place to store all the cars and people under the merry-go-round so they don't get misplaced. Little hands can disassemble it but it is easy and quick to put back together.

This toy is a piece of junk. I bought two. One for my niece and one for my 17 month old. They both loved it for about the first 10 minutes. After that the cars couldn't make the loop & just fell down. The problem is that people don't fit properly into the cars. Because the people fall out-the cars don't weigh enough to manuver the loop. Both had the exact same problem. I usually love the Little People products. This toy is not up to Fisher Price's normal quality. |
