This toy is nice but for the price it really should include the extra accesories like the treasure chest, etc. Also, do comparison shopping. This is currently selling here by some other vendor for $69.99 while in the Fisher Price website it sells for $20. Target also has it for $20.
Now, if the kid is over 3 yrs old, I would suggest going with the Fisher PRice Imaginext Pirate Ship. Much much better and complete. Sells for $30 in the Fisher Price web site.

My 2 1/2 year old son wanted the Peter Pan Pirate Ship from the Disney store. Unfortunately it's $60, looks flimsy and didn't seem near worth the money. When I saw this in the store I knew I had to buy it.

My son plays with it all the time. He loves making people "walk the plank". It allows him to be creative and let's me see his imaginitave playing at it's best.

It's a very well made toy. It's sturdy and has lasted through my son's rough and tough way of playing.

I would defintitely recommend buying this if your young child.

We got this for our 22 month old for Christmas, and like all the other Little People toys it's fantastic. He loves playing with it, and tonight spent most of the evening launching anything he could find out of the cannon (the pirates, the parrot, basically everything BUT the cannon ball!). Our three year old and seven year old have also been having fun with it. I expect the pirate ship to hold up well, since we still have the Little People Farm that we got for our daughter over 6 years ago and it's in great condition after years of tough play! This is a unique and cute toy that kids just seem to gravitate toward. And yes, it's a pain to get out of the box, but well worth the effort!

My recently turned 3 year old daughter really loves the Little People toys, and I love them, too. She has a castle and a few little additions with a small selection of people. I wanted to add something more fun and found this pirate ship online. It seemed perfect and fairly inexpensive for a Christmas gift (I actually let my mom get it for my daughter, so that she'd be guaranteed a very much loved present from Nana! ;-).

When she opened it on Christmas morning, no other present mattered for the rest of the day. She adored it! She'd come running often to exclaim over some new part of the ship that she discovered: the parrot stand makes three different sounds when you put the parrot on it; the cannon really shoots the (harmless) boulder; the captain's cabin opens up for access to the interior bed, etc.; and a plank appears out the side of the ship with a turn of the wheel (the castle's princess has spent an awful lot of time standing on the pirates' plank! ;-).

More than 5 months later and the pirate ship is still a regular part of the play day. The pirates are friends with her castle people and they interact happily. I highly recommend this toy for little girls, and I'm quite sure little boys will find equal or greater pleasure in having it, as well!

My 4 year-old grandson LOVES trucks and cars, but the Pirate Ship moved up to #1 on his list this birthday. I don't think he even knew there was another fun world out there other than cars and trucks. He plays with the pirate ship all the time . . . on ground and in water.

My children loved this toy. It had all the possibilites that were apparent in the advertising. I would recommend it to parents who want to give their kids an interactive ship with minimal pieces to keep track of regualry. We took it with us on a trip. It kept them active but wasn't something we had to assemble or fuss over. Also, you can't vaccum them up---another big plus for me!! We love it!

My 2 year old son has grown to like anything with pirates in it. I had a hard time searching for things he likes. I just happened upon this toy while browsing the store. He absolutely loves it! He wouldn't let it out of his site when I brought it home. He hasn't lost interest in it at all.
