I was looking for books that would hold my toddler's attention longer than a millisecond and, given his obsession with cars, trucks and planes, I thought this would work. Not only did it do the trick, but he just loves lifting each flap to see what's underneath and goes back to this book time and time again. The book is divided into two-page sections, each with its own theme. Each section also teaches a different age-appropriate subject, such as colors or shapes.

Not only does it have a toddler's favorite things--cars, trucks, planes and trains, but it also has colors, matching, counting and shapes. Every scene has a learning concept, which is appropriate for children as young as 12-15 months. Our 20 month old loves to find all the monkeys, match the sea creatures, and point out colors and shapes. There is a school bus, skateboard, bike, van and ice cream truck all on the first page. Other popular vehicles with our child are the digger, dump truck and blimp. I like that all of the roles are not stereotypical either (ie, the construction worker is a woman). Fyi, the flaps are a little stiff in the beginning and don't lay flat after opening, but they loosen up with time and are always flat when you first open the page.

My son just turned two. He loves this book. He loves the flaps and all the transportation in it. He loves trucks cars so much. Perfect book

This was purchased for my grandson who is approaching 2 and gets very excited every time he sees trucks, planes, etc. He absolutely LOVES this book and wants it "read" over and over.Not only is it about his favorite things, it has wonderful "flaps" to open - a big plus in his eyes!

My three year old great grandchild just loved this book. He was fascinated opening the flaps and wanted me to read it to him over and over again. He spent a good hour just looking at this book and the other one I ordered for him. The construcion is very sturdy and the flaps open and close easily, it looks like the book is going to last for a long time. I was very, very happy.

My 1-year-old looks/plays with it in bed every night as she falls asleep. It's best to go through the book and pull all the flaps out yourself though, because little fingers are not necessarily coordinated enough to get under the flaps the first time through.

My sons love books and 'Little People' books are very sturdy, well illustrated learning books. Lots of interactive flaps they like to open and look at or have me explain.

Our son received this as a gift when he was 8 months old. He loves to flip the flaps and look at the changed pictures and it helped develop his fine motor and tactile skills to flip the flaps. Four months later with daily use, this book will still hold his attention for a good 20 mins unattended or half hour or longer attended. The nice thing is that there are a lot of concepts hidden in this book, so it will grow with your baby/toddler. Not all of the flaps hold the same amount of attention at this stage but he loves how colorful and busy the book is.

The recommended age range could go much younger than 2 years for the book content. It is realitively durable, but is not super chunky like baby board books are, so maybe that's why the age range starts a bit older. None of the flaps have torn with daily use, but ours has a crease in the cover where our son stood on it and tried to pull open the book. It is pretty impressive that it didn't tear.

I'd recommend this to anyone for their baby at around a year, or sooner for early learnersl

These books are great for kids in the 18 months+ range. The pictures are vivid and colorful. My son loves to lift the flaps over and over and over!

My girl is a year old and she loves these fisher price books!! They are as cute as shown at the site, and she loves to play with the flip flaps.
