We got this for my son for his first Christmas. He was about 6 months old at the time. He really seemed to like it, played with it often and would seek it out as he learned to crawl and grab at things. Hedgehog is still with us at age 2 1/2 and is still our favorite! He goes with us everywhere and at night my son puts himself to sleep by "petting" hedgehog! He can now make the nose squeak himself (which he thinks is very funny) and still enjoys how soft hedgehog is. It has been great for helping him learn his colors as well! Hedgehog has been washed MANY times (at least 10) in a pillowcase in the washer and looks as bright and is as soft as the day we got him! An excellent toy for babies with the rattle, crinkle feet, squeaky nose, and textures, but also a fantastic toy for toddler! Excellent toy for an excellent price! We give them to everyone we know as baby shower gifts!!

This hedgehog is very bright and cute. My daughter is 4 months and not interested in too many toys, but when I presented this her little eyes lit up. Good for teaching colors.

I just bought this adorable hedgehog for my 3 month-old daughter. She loves the bright colors that I will teach her later on. Good quality construction, good price, and all around versatile toy! So satisfied!

I got one of these years ago for my twin boys, and they LOVED it. Because it was brightly colored, it got more use than any other baby toy we had. They even learned to crawl because they wanted it when it was across the room, and I was busy with the other. They had it, and played with it for a good 2 years, before I decided I was having no more kids, and gave it away. Boy am I sorry. I plan on getting another one soon, as I am having another one soon. Yes, it's not the most exciting toy for mom or dad, but the one we had is now with it's third family, and still getting a ton of love, almost 5 years later. And, it is soft, and easy for babies to grab and play with.

PROS:
-It is colorful
-It squeaks, so is possibly more interesting than stuffed toys that do nothing

CONS:
-Poor construction, I was so shocked when I saw threads coming out of it, and those felt 'hairs' falling off...right out of the box
-Doesn't 'do' anything for this price, unlike gloworm, which costs less - lights up and sings

BEST USE: Maybe 6 mo age range

RECOMMENDATION: Not worth the money.

It doesn't really do anything and isn't made very well. My son LOVES tags, so we thought this would be ideal - that he would play with the large felt 'hairs,' but he never liked this toy and has ignored it since day one. He prefers Lullaby Gloworm, a simple small blue dog made by Carter, and a small stuffed Tiger.

My daughter got this for christmas she was about 4 months old..she loved the bright colors and the rattle. She is now 10 months and this sleeps in her crib with her. We recently found out that the nose squeeks! Too cute!! I am not one for stuffed animals around my house but this is a keeper! We love it!

The hedgehog arrived from Amazon and it is adorable....soft and colorful. Unfortunately,the nose does not squeak at all nor are the ears crinkly (two things that are described in words and pictures on the box).....I'm guessing that something (or someone) on the assembly line malfunctioned and neglected to include the features (squeaker and crinkly-sound fabric) that would make these item more than a cute (and quiet) stuffed animal.

Dear hedgehog, thank you for calming our daughter every day! I bought this when my daughter was six months old, and when I showed it to her, her eyes lit right up and she reached for it immediately. I don't know what it is about this rainbow-hued stuffed animal, but my daughter just goes wild for it. She is now 11 months old, and gets about as excited when she sees the hedgehog now as she did the first time she saw it. When she is very fussy/cranky, my husband will throw the hedgehog up in the air with a spin, and my daughter erupts in peals of laughter. Even at her fussiest, she can't resist giggling through her tears when she sees flying hedgie. The colors are just great, so vibrant; we have gotten lots of compliments from others who have seen it. The textures of the felt tabs, the beanbag bottom, and the crinkly feet are wonderful. The squeaky nose is challenging to activate (wish the squeaker was located a little farther out toward the tip of the nose rather than embedded so deep in the snout), but our daughter is amused when we make it squeak for her. The colors and textures are such a great combination for young children, this is just a really well designed and unique stuffed animal.

My friend's daughter is going to have a baby in January. For her shower I found alot of hedgehog products. The mom-to-be loves 'em! I found sheets,a soft blanket,knit pj's, and even a bouncer with baby animals, including a Hedgehog! When I saw this Fisher-Price hedgehog, I had to add it to my "themed" gift. It is so cute and the bright colors are something babies love.

I first saw this hedgehog featured in a magazine, and I instantly fell in love with it and knew I had to buy it for my then unborn daughter. I was happy to find it on Amazon and promptly ordered it.
I am very pleased with it. I have it at the foot of my daughter's crib with some other "friends."
It is indeed very soft and visually stimulating. The colors are bright and vivid and will help her learn her colors. The squeaker in it's snout area (not the orange nose itself,) crinkly feet, and the bead-filled underbelly are fun and stimulating.
It does take a washing well when washed in the washing machine tied in a pillowcase or zipped in a lingerie wash bag.
