My 5-month old baby used to be quiet when she woke up, and would then cry for me. Now she wakes up every morning and plays with this toy, and I know she's awake. She greets me every morning with smiles instead of tears. Also, we took a 6-hour car trip last week and placed this toy at the foot of her car seat. She used her feet to play the music, and she slept and played with the mirror the whole trip!

I bought this for my daughter when I read that having a mirror in baby's crib is good for them. There were a lot to choose from, but I went with this because I really like the other Sparkling Symphony toys we've got. At first she didn't really seem interested, but one morning I heard her through the baby monitor--she'd figured it out! The barrel at the bottom spins easily and activates the music and lights, and now she spins it repeatedly after she wakes up. (It's become MY alarm clock!) Although I don't think she's caught on to the mirror thing yet, she does love watching the lights and she's discovered that cause-and-effect thing with this toy's help.

We got this toy for my daughter when she was 3 months old. Now she is almost 7 months and still loves it. It is great to entertain her while I run do something. It is also great to teach the cause and effect relationship. It is one of our favorites because the music is actually pretty nice and not annoying like some of her other toys!

A way to communicate before he started speaking!,

I really love this toy and so does my little one. We first hung it in his crib when he was about 3 months old and now at 5 months he is still going strong with it. We have his crib in our bedroom. My son does not cry very much but communicates using this toy. At night when he wants to nurse instead of getting all worked up with a big cry he sets off the music by spinning the rattle at the bottom. It is our signal that it is time for me to get up and feed him. The sound is actually very nice and a fine way to wake up. I love the other worldly glow that comes from his crib from the lights. During the day time I can put him in the crib for at least 10 minutes while he bats it with his hands and feet: good for a quick shower! I never use the setting for continuous play since he is more than willing to get it going and I don't want it on if he is sleeping. While visiting another home recently I saw that they had it attached to a walker. The baby loved wandering around the house looking at herself in the mirror while making music as well. Highly recommended!!

My 6 month old son has been enjoying this toy since he was about six weeks old. At that point we had to activate it for him or he'd turn the bar accidentally but it fascinated him. For months now he has been able to turn the music on at will. I don't even have to turn his monitor on at night anymore, when he wakes up he just turns on the music and I know he's awake. I've also found lately that he likes to turn around and kick the bar with his feet to turn on the music or get under it and pick it up to see what's behind it. Once he could lift his head well on his stomach he also loved "finding" the baby in the mirror and we'd see him in his crib "talking" to the other baby!!! I'm simply amazed how many ways he has discovered to play with this toy and, as the oldest toy he has, how fascinated he still is with it. This is simply the best toy we own. It's especially captivating in a dark room with the lights going off. I appreciated the way the lights coordinate with the notes in the music, lighting the same light for the same note. I hope this will help him learn more about music is structured. Get this toy, for yourself and everyone you know!

My son recieved the Sparkling Symphony Mirror as a gift right after he was born. He is 21 months old now and this is, by far, the best toy he has. He loves the music and flashing lights. We have ours attached to his crib and it's the first thing I hear from his room every morning and the last thing I hear at nap time and bed time. At first, discovering how the tumbler makes the lights and music sound were facinating. Now he likes to turn it over and use the switch on the back to turn it on and off, and from the one song at a time option to the string of songs option. The lights and music are great AND he gets to look at himself in the mirror! This is a very durable toy as well. When my son has turned himself around in his crib during his nap or night time, and the mirror is at the other end when he wakes up, he kicks it to get it started. Sometimes those kicks are pretty forceful! Besides cleaning finger prints off the mirror and replacing the batteries twice, this has been a very low maintenance toy. We have a brand new baby boy (7 weeks old) now, so our oldest will be moving into his new room and into a toddler bed very shortly. I know I will be buying a second Sparkling Symphony Mirror for the new baby, because our oldest son just isn't ready to part with his yet! I highly reccomend this toy, and have purchased it as a gift for several of my friends. So far, everyone else has loved it too.

Love this toy but too loud!,

This mirror has been hanging in my son's bassinet and then his crib since he was 5 weeks old (he is now almost 6 months). Even after all this time he still loves it. Almost every morning I hear him playing with it as he wakes up. The negatives - it is really too loud I think and has no sound adjustment. Our son plays with it sometimes when he wakes up in the middle of the night, which is not particularly fun for us over the monitor. Also, sometimes he hits it by accident in his sleep and either wakes himself or us up by doing so. I don't turn it off at night though because sometimes he uses it to soothe himself to sleep in the middle of the night. All in all, a very good toy.

When I first got the mirror she didnt pay it much mind. She just gotten home from the hospital and all she cared about was eating, and sleeping. But now at 5 wks she loves the music and lights. About a week I was showing her how to spin the wheel and her eyes lighted up.Only a few days ago, I witnessed her hit the wheel at the bottom and start the music herself! How fast they grow up. I recommend this toy for all new parents, my advice though is to make sure it is low enough in the crib so they can touch the bar.And Get the Mommy Bear, the teddy bear that makes the womb noise..it works wonders!!

My 11-week old has enjoyed this toy since she was about 7 weeks old, it was actually a Christmas gift! She learned immediately how to spin the barrel to start the music. She is fascinated with the mirror and the flashing lights! At first we could not believe she actually knew how to spin the little barrel since she was so little, we thought that maybe she used random hand movements, however as we saw her progress we found out that she knows exactly what to do. She now waits until the music stops to roll it again and again and sometimes just holds on to the barrel. This toy will stimulate your child's mind while providing plenty of enjoyment. I told my husband that this was the perfect starter toy for a newborn and the music is cute too!
