The age info for these skates and the similar ones for boys is completely wrong. They fit up to a size 11 shoe (NOT size 12), which most children outgrow by the age of 4 or 5 (my daughter has small feet and could still wear the skates at age 6). The locking mechanism isn't perfect, so when you start your beginner child on them she might all of a sudden find herself rolling too fast. My daughter (a tentative type) did not learn to skate with this product before she outgrew it.

My 2 year old received these as a birthday present. I was very worried about her ability to use them by herself. However, much to my delight, after a little help getting into them, she can skate by herself! The only downfall so far is the fact that she wants to wear them everywhere, including bed! Highly recommended even for kids as young as 2!

I recently purchased on line "Barbie My First Skates" for my child. The product description never mentioned the maximum weight is 44 lbs. This weight limit makes these skates completely useless to my child. And, it leaves me with the time consuming chore of trying return the skates.

I thought I had found the perfect gift for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas! To my dismay, when the product arrived tonight, I found that I need to go through the hastle of returning the skates. The description states for ages 5 - 10. They would never fit my daughter as the skates are actually intended for children who wear shoe sizes up to size 12 and weigh 44 lbs. or less. How disappointing!!! This should be corrected immediately to save other parents the frustration I am now experiencing!

These adjustable skates that go over shoes are a great starter before inline skating. My 2-year used these at the roller rink; we only needed the easiest setting for a few minutes then she spent the rest of the evening on the middle setting and was cruising around really well. As she grows both in skill and size, she should be able to use them for several years.
My 5-year old managed to squeeze his 12 1/2 shoe in these so that he could practice with them a few times before using regular inline skates; it gave him the confidence to keep going with the inline skates.

My 5-year-old selected these skates with an Amazon gift certificate. As she is on the small side, has never skated, and wears a size 12 shoe, I felt these skates would be the most appropriate for a beginner. (The package states they fit up to size 12 shoes.) What a disappointment when they arrived and didn't fit over her size 12 sneakers!

I bought these skates for my daughter's 2nd birthday last year. She was scared to try them at first, but now she is skating by herself. She loves them and wants to put them on everyday. I never have a problem putting them on or taking them off. My daughter also has no problem keeping her balance.

My daughter loved these skates. They were easy for her to get on and off. They were very sturdy and quite easy for her to master. They are definetly a beginners skate.

Got Barbie for daughter (4), My 1st for son (3), both love them! Still on setting 1 (2nd roller locked) but they haven't fallen! Don't know how long they'll last but I'm very glad I chose these. They allow the kids to slowly get used to skating without the pain. Have to switch to setting 2 soon (they're bored), but at least they'll be used to them when they fall!

My daughter loves these skates. She was skating like her big brother in a matter of one afternoon. Great Christmas gift and very affordable. Made our hearts happy that she is enjoying them so much.
