Everyone will love this one. We all thought the original was good-This one is GREAT. If you don't smile or laugh then you must be a grouch. My grandaughter will absolutely adore this one as well as everyone else. 10 stars for laughter and durability..:) :)

After you get past all the safety latches on the elmo live encore you will be amazed at how life like they have made elmo in comparison to some of the other versions(rock n roll elmo and limbo elmo come to mind). One thing that I consider negative is that his speaking/singing/instrumental voice is loud. For a toy that doesn't travel, and is meant to be watched, and poked it doesn't seem an appropriate volume. I would hate for someone to scream a short story at me. Second, his body is kind of hard plastic so he is not snuggable, I would have thought that they would have fixed that from the first version, but I guess they didn't have enough time to add some stuffing. A suggestion would be to add some clothes to him, maybe an infant coat, if you want to snuggle with him. Although his jokes aren't funny, the fact that he has crickets chirping and then laughs at himself is definitely funny. This toy is just entertaining, and it doesn't need to be anything else. I can't see anyone learning anything from it, maybe if he had interactive question answer that would be more helpful, but when they create that it probably wont be worth the price they want to charge. The mechanism is quieter than the first version, or else they just raised the volume on the speaker, but either way it is less noticeable. All in all I think it is a great toy if you can get it at a discount, not worth the original price. We purchased it for forty nine ninety nine, and I can live with that.

I bought the Elmo Live Encore when it was on sale last week here at Amazon. We received Elmo today and I must say that he really does move around pretty well. You'd never mistake him for a live action version, but it's pretty darned good, if I do say so. So far, my 23 month old son really likes this toy. He was playing with it before I even got it all the way out of the box (which required a master's degree and hands-on technical training, but I digress).

Once we got it out and started it up, he had quite a time with it. He loves just watching Elmo talk and move around, although I don't know how much he understands. I don't really think it's a terribly educational toy, but that's not why I bought it. At any rate, Elmo has been on the coffee table, and then he took a trip to the kitchen table, and then to the kitchen itself. Elmo was an honored guest who got to watch dinner being cooked tonight. My son also wanted to take Elmo to dinner with him, but I explained that Elmo was entitled to his own dinner break and couldn't play right then.

My only _real_ issue so far is that Elmo yells. Hasn't he heard of inside voices? Thankfully, it's not so loud that it would damage hearing, but you definitely couldn't take him to church or to the library with you. Minor nit-picky stuff: I'm already getting kind of tired of the stories about Big Bird's birthday and the Three Little Pigs. But, I guess, that's not so bad since my kid makes me read "Silly Sally" over and over and I've gotten used to repetition to an extent. Oh, and the little chair. I wish it were bigger (not that my son actually lets Elmo sit down or anything).

All in all, loads of fun so far and overall worth the purchase.

Who does not like Elmo? Great price for great product. He offers dozens of cute phrases and several songs. Recommended!

My grandaughter loves it! She interacts with Elmo!and very educational! Great!! She and I could sit together and have a joyous time!

My 2 year old daughter LOVES this toy and so does my 7 month old son who watches on as my daughter squeals with laughter as she presses Elmo's nose, chest and toes and watches Elmo's antics. Initially, had a few kinks but this vendor/seller was just wonderful in responding to my inquiry related to a slight kink which worked itself out. Great toy.

I bought Elmo live as a gift for my nephew on his first birthday. Though he is just an year old, he still has a lot of interest in this toy. He especially loves it when Elmo laughs and tries to imitate some of its actions. Its fun to see him playing with Elmo.. He still does not interact much with Elmo, but he just loves the sight of it blabbering. Most importantly, as any one year old he does push around the toy and it falls down many times a day and now its been 6 months he has been doing so and the toy is INTACT and FUNCTIONAL!! and one advice, dont forget to buy/gift rechargeable battery with this one as the batteries die very fast. It plays for no more that 5-6 hours on a duracell battery.

After playing with this toy once at a friends house my 1.5 year old son fell in love. Since it was discontinued in Canada I was happy to find it on Amazon. Although the button are difficult for him to find or press, the hours of fun are endless and this had been the best toy purchase in a long time!

LOVE Elmo Live!! Kids think he is so funny not to mention all my adult guests find him just as entertaining!

My daughter is 1 and she loves this doll. she is so enamoured by it when it talks and moves. If you child loves elmo - he/she will definitley love this doll. the only bad thing is that you can't really cuddle with it.
