5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait!
I was considering the Rainforest Jumperoo, but saw that this one was coming out, so we waited. I'm afraid this was a rather disappointing purchase. Seeing all the great reviews, I thought this would be a sure hit but after a month of trying this out, I created this video to note some of the flaws.

Please note that the seat has already been corrected. After filming this video, I realized I had the seat backwards. Despite the adjustment, my baby was still not able to comfortably play with all the toys so after a couple of months, we sold this jumperoo for half the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait!, February 16, 2009

I was considering the Rainforest Jumperoo, but saw that this one was coming out, so we waited. Our friends had the other, and I had noticed that due to the strait poles, the entire jumperoo shifted when baby bounced. The curved poles on this model solved that problem--it is very sturdy and there is little frame shifting no matter how my daughter dances. She loves both (uses the other at the babysitter's) and dances happily for reasonable periods of time.

If I have any criticism, this one does not break down quite as easily, but if you can devote the floor space to it for the time the child will use it, it is PERFECT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Jumperoo yet!, January 16, 2009
By
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
We bought this jumperoo three days ago to replace an exersaucer and old jumperoo all at once. We love that this combines the two into one toy. Our old stuff had already gone through one child and was showing a lot of wear an tear with our second child. This jumperoo is one of the best baby purchases we've ever made! It allows my 6 month-old to turn 360 degrees and jump his little heart out. There are several toys which keep his attention really well. He loves the music and lights. We love it because it cuts down on the amount of baby stuff we have out since it's basically an activity center and jumperoo all in one toy. Our little guy just loves the thing! His face lights up every time we put him in it. The assembly was insanely easy; no tools needed! It took my husband maybe ten minutes at the most to put together. I love the colors; mainly a fresh looking blue and green. I guess if I had to come up with one tiny criticism, it would be that the seat seems to be a tad bit snug. Not bad, just a little hard to get baby into sometimes. I highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a jumperoo or stationary entertainer!

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful!!!!!, January 24, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
this jumperoo is great!! I was a bit reluctant to buy it at first because it had no reviews. However now that I purchased it I cant be happier!!
My baby just loves it. He's 5 months old and at first didnt realize that he could jump. once he figured it out, he doesn't stop jumping!! The springs are great, the music and animal sounds are great, and the look of the whole thing is adorable. I put this together myself in a matter of minutes and if I want to take it apart it would be just as easy. It's also very sturdy. I would definately reccomend this for anyone looking to buy a jumperoo.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of leaping fun, September 16, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
My baby boy adores his jumperoo. He has had the busiest legs from the day he was born and I knew that a jumperoo would be fun for him. I was correct. He has loved it since we bought it for him at 6 months old. 3 months later he still loves it and divides his time between it and his playpen when it's time for Mommy to get some work done. My only complaint about this jumperoo is the price. It really is terribly overpriced. Almost $100 for a toy that has 2 toys that flash red, a few repetitive tunes and some assorted movable toys around the round tray is just outrageous. If you find a cheaper jumperoo go for it, for my baby anyway it's all about the jumping and the little hippo flower he enjoys teething on, I think he would have been happy with any jumperoo.

Another word of warning. The Precious Planet jumperoo does not fold up like the Rainforest jumperoo. I would have bought the Rainforest jumperoo if I had paid enough attention to the description. This is a big toy and will take up a lot of space if you have a small living room.

3.0 out of 5 stars SAFETY HAZARD- Can be TIPPED by another child, January 31, 2010
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
The new base design is a DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD. The entire unit can be tipped over VERY easily by another child. My autistic two year old with LOW muscle tone was able to tip it over with his baby brother (who weighs 17 lbs) in it. We had a rainforest jumperoo for my two year old when he was a baby and never had this issue the biggest brother (now 5) being able to tip that one. If you compare the two side by side you will see that the circumference of the base has been greatly reduced and a child that is able to stand can simply pull on one of the support bars and tip the entire unit over. I would NOT recommend this for anyone who has an older child or will have an older child around their infant while this is in use. If you are purchasing this for an only child or multiples of the same age who will never be around older children, then it's great. Because even left alone for a second- to use the restroom or answer the door, this is a big hazard. If you do have older children, I highly recommend the rainforest jumperoo as is has a wider base (the poles are straight rather than curved) and my boys have never been able to tip it. I gave this a 3 star because it is a highly entertaining item and probably not a concern if you don't have older children.

3.0 out of 5 stars I prefer the Rainforest Jumper, January 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
I already had the Rainforest Jumper for my daughter and ordered this version for when I take her into work with me (twice per week). This version is less interactive for her than the Rainforest version. The section with all the lights doesnt really have much for her to touch - it's not really obvious to her to spin the ball and she's too young to have the strength/ability to push the bar to make the lion spin. The rainforest version has the hanging monkey and parrot that she can bat at, and it also has a spinning wheel that makes animal noises & it's easy for her to make it turn. the whale is OK, but she prefers to spin the sun on the rainforest jumper.

Things I dislike about both version - the toy that dangles is kind of out of sight and really not that exciting (and technically they can be a bit deceiving in some of the picture where they show the object standing straight up when it never does that), and both versions have a spinning wheel to the right of the section with the lights/music that is really kind of a waste.

I also feel they cheaped out by putting in that little snack holding section instead of another toy - I'm not sure how many people are going to put Cheerios or something on a toy that the baby JUMPS in and would consequently spill all of their snack on the floor.

I know my daughter is only four months old and she may very well gain appreciation for these functions later, but I still think the Rainforest version is more fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Chance to Dance With My Grandson, May 23, 2010
By
Mamazabakaka "Tome Raider" (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
Length:: 0:15 Mins

As a grandmother with champagne tastes and a beer budget, one who wants to lavish everything on her first grandchild, I was a little wary of spending this much money on a plaything. When my grandson was first put into it at 5 months, he struggled against being put in, and cried to be taken out and I was sure I'd made a mistake. I put the jumperoo out of sight for a month, and then brought it out before a visit from him and set his father's old teddy bear in the seat. At six months, my grandson seemed to have forgotten his previous fear and was interested in what the bear was up to. I turned on the music and bounced the bear a few times, then asked him if he wanted to take a turn. He drooled approvingly, so I took the bear out and set him in it. When his legs collapsed for a moment, the music started and the little lights lit up and he jumped up and laughed. Right away he knew how to make the music come on, and as he danced to it, I danced like a crazy old lady with him and we'd never had so much fun! Now, at 7 1/2 months, he still loves to go in the Jumperoo, loves the music, loves the turning and rolling and sliding toys he's discovered, turns himself around and put his nose next to the plastic mirror and laugh. But most of all, he loves to pump his little legs and the way his face lights up when we dance makes it worth twice what it cost me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Baby likes it, but PROBLEMS, June 22, 2010
I'll start out by saying that my first purchase in this general category of toys for my baby was a Evenflo Smart Steps Exersaucer. My baby (4.5months) hated it! The seat wasn't comfortable and he would fuss after a few minutes of being in it. The seat didn't support him well in the front and we had to put a pillow in the seat to keep him upright, but the seat on the Jumperoo is much more comfortable and designed differently and he can happily spend a half hour in it. This seat doesn't spin as easily as the Exersaucer, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Another thing I think was a problem with the Exersaucer was that there was just TOO much for him. All the lighting up and obnoxiously patterned toys overwhelmed him and he would get upset, probably not a problem for older babies, but at this age it's just too much. I could tell we had a winner with the Jumperoo when he looked at the little lion and just smiled. He's just very content in it and not overwhelmed. He actually spends more time looking at us and bouncing than he does playing with the toys

I'll also mention the Exersaucer made my baby breakout in a scary bright red rash everytime he touched certain toys on it, so we had to get a new toy because I sent the exersaucer back to Evenflo for them to examine. That has definitely not happened with the Jumperoo, thankfully.

So the Jumperoo is a hit for my kid, if he were writing this review, he'd probably give it 5 stars, but I have a couple of issues with it:

1. The lowest setting is too high. My baby is 27in long and in the 97th percentile for height and his feet don't touch the ground... that just doesn't seem right to me.

2. HIS ELBOW GETS STUCK! I think this is a huge oversight on FP's part and probably a little dangerous. His elbow is constantly getting stuck between the triangular shaped toy that rotates around on the main toy at the front and the blue ocean-ish toy with the wheel that spins around (that's about as descriptive as I can be). Every time I look down at him (if he is facing a certain direction) his arm is stuck. The easy solution is to remove the ocean-ish toy... he hasn't shown any interest in it anyhow, but I'm really disappointed in FP for such a lapse in design.

3. I don't like the 25lb weight limit. It's fine for average sized babies, but I have a solidly built, very tall, extremely fast growing baby. I think he'll be over 25lbs by 6 months, then what will we do?

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, April 19, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Jumperoo (Baby Product)
I was a bit hesitant to spend anywhere in the ballpark of $85 for a toy for my 4 1/2 month old, but I had seen babies enjoying other jumperoos and my daughter recently decided she wants to be upright all the time, so I figured we'd give this a try. My daughter LOVES it! Sometimes she bounces, other times she's more focused on playing with the toys, but she will play happily (and independently) for 30+ minutes in this. It's height adjustable (she's 25 in. long and her feet just barely touch the ground at the lowest setting, so we should get lots of use out of this before she grows out of it), and with the circular base it seems really stable. There are toys all the way around the 360 degree rotating seat, and while she doesn't turn herself around yet, we can change things up for her every once and a while. We've been happy with other Fisher-Price toys for our baby (a Fisher-Price Hoppy Days Bouncer and a Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing), and I'm glad we went for this one.
