More fun that you'd expect - even for older kids,

My son got this for his 9th birthday, yes, 9th. I've been watching him, his friend, his 11-year old sister, and her friend play with it for the last two hours, dancing and laughing. Any excuse to see themselves on TV I guess. (Reminds me of "Elf Youself" by JibJab.) They've added photos of themselves, their toys, and their dolls, created neat backgrounds, and hooked it up to their iPods. Today is Day One, so we'll see if it holds their interest beyond today. But so far, I'm pretty impressed. The UI is very easy for them to use, so I don't have to be too involved.

I was excited about this toy, so I'm bummed that it didnt' work out well for us. When taking a photo of your children's heads to place on top of a cartoon character, it's really hard to get a decent head-shot - and then it's hard to discern on the screen - it's not a crisp photo. So when the character is dancing around, it barely looks like your kids' faces on the characters. Also, by the time we used it the 3rd time, it was broken - the video output got really dark and you couldn't discern the background at all (which is the live video of whatever room you're standing in) nor could you discern any of the faces. So it broke pretty quickly. But I will say that the few times the kids played with it, they had silly fun!

My 2 and 4 year old really enjoy this. The adults also got a kick out of it. The picture quality is fine if there is enough light in teh room when you take it. Great gift for the price.

My two boys love this toy. They are 3 1/2 and 15 months old. They like seeing themselves on the TV and making different pictures with the charaters. I like that they can dance with or without the characters. At first my 3 year old didn't want to see the characters on the screen but now he likes to do both. My 15 month old gets a kick out of seeing his brother dance and be silly on TV. For the overall rating I gave it 4 stars only because I wish it could record at least a few minutes of them dancing. It would also be nice to have to microphones even if only one worked and the other was for looks. Aslo the camera adjust up and down to get better views. Well ours doesn't stay all the way up, it slowly drops down. This doesn't really matter because it will still focus fine just kind of a corky thing. Other than that it is a great hit in our house. It is fun for my husband and I to watch them dance and/or dance in the background with them!

My wife was looking for a toy she remembered from a few years back that allowed kids to do video karaoke. This wasn't exactly what she was thinking of, but it was close enough. It works well enough for what it does, our 3 and 4 year old like to see themselves dancing on the TV. The problem is that the funny never lasts long. The number of "effects" and such you can add to the video is limited, and the selection of songs is also rather limited unless you go through the trouble of hooking up an MP3 player. (Which is a GREAT option.) The issue is that my TV's inputs aren't exactly in an easily accessible place, and it makes it a pain to set up. It doesn't help that the kids tend to get bored with it after a song or two, so we rarely set it up anymore. This might be a better toy for slightly older kids that can set it up and run it on their own.

We purchased this for my two and four year old grand daughters. Never did I reallze that all of my grown adult children, their spouses and all of our other grand children would have such great fun changing facial pics and the bodies in the program. It was hilarious watching everyone "dance". Well worth the price for some family fun.

I was excited for my 3 year old son to receive this as a gift for Christmas since he enjoys looking at himself in the mirror and dancing or making faces. Out of the package, not so much. First off, the picture is a bit grainy. The music is bland (but you do have the option to hook up your own MP3 player). And the microphone stopped working after the first use. Disappointing so far. It only held his interested for about 5 minutes which is fine for his age. It might be better suited for an older child.

Super cheap find on some bargain site. They warned me that it would suck. I didn't listen. I'm a sucker for cheap plastic crap. To my shock the kid really likes this toy. He loves seeing himself on the tv. I suspect that as he develops he will be bored of this as it is very limited in appeal. It has however, come in super handy for the eldest child to use while practicing his magic tricks!

I got this for my 2 year old as she loves to sing and dance. I had great expectations for this toy but within first 5 minutes it went back to the box and will not use it again. You can not sing with it, it only gives you an image of yourself in the TV with no sound you could make (my bad - I thought it comes with a microphone but it does not, the piece that looks like one is a remote control). The few music tunes it comes with are some random songs we didnt even know. I connected our MP3 to play songs we like but even that didnt spark an interest in my kids (2 and 6). Fortunately i got this on HUGE sale for not even $20.00 so i am not sorry otherwise i would be really angry for throughing about $70 out of the window.

My three year old son loves this! He is quite a techie child, so I thought this may be a little to kiddie for him, but he becomes a ROCKSTAR for hours in front of the TV. Our older children use their ipods to stream music he loves to dance to through the device. A must have if you have a little star!
