5.0 out of 5 stars one of our favorites
We have so many kinds of building toys. My children are ages 5, 7 and 9. All of them tend to be frustrated with sets that you can only look at after building. These stay together well! They are colorful and fun to play with after the building is done. My 9yo enjoys them as much as the younger children. I wished the price was more reasonable. Other than this it is an A...

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to attach
My four year old and I found these pieces hard to attach together. Not the blocks themselves, but the other things that are included, like the pole pieces. The harder we pressed the poles into the blocks the more frustrated we became. I wouldn't recommend this building set for ages 3-5 as the box says. Older children would definitely find this fun.

This TRIO set was a 2009 Christmas gift for our 4 yr old son with some developmental delays. He loves it, and has no trouble building with this set. He needs some help with the more complicated designs, but is able to figure out most of the plans on his own after some studying. It's one of the few toys that holds his attention for more than 2 minutes. After he builds something, he then plays with, leading to some of his first imaginative play. I don't know what it is about this toy, but it is really helping our son to focus, think and plan how to build things, and to improve his overall play skills. It's amazing! And, our 3 yr old son also loves it. In fact, I'm shopping tonight to buy a bigger set, because they fight over pieces and both want to be able to build their own creation at the same time. I'm buying the 100 piece TRIO building set with storage tonight. We get more value out of this toy than I could have ever imagined. 6-yr old cousins who come to visit also settle down with this toy as soon as they arrive. I highly recommend the TRIO blocks!

This was bought for our 4yr old son.. he loves it. I only wish there was more to this kit..you can only really build one creation from booklet at a time. So we will get more to add to what we have..this way we can build and build.
Highly recommend..

This was a Christmas present for my 4 yr old, who hasn't stopped playing with it since he got it. I also bought him an add on Trio set and will probably buy more as he gets older. This system fuels his imagination and is easy for him to use. This system is so much better than other's and allows for endless, creative combinations.

I ordered this for my nephew's birthday. He loves playing with this and is now requesting more from his mom and dad, so he can build bigger things. Also, my daughter has the bug set and loves playing with it.

My husband and I purchased this toy for our four-year-old grandson. He plays with it every day creating "insects", "dinosaurs", and other creatures. Now his 19-month-old brother is becoming interested in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRIO toys have been my son's favorite toy of all time, December 10, 2011

I got my son his first TRIO building set about 2 years ago. He is 6 now. Since then we have bought 3 more TRIO sets, because he NEVER GETS TIRED OF THEM. He spends hours building and creating amazing things with these toys. And, no worries about them falling apart once he is done. He is actually able to play with his creations. He has other building toys, but still comes back to these every time. I keep thinking he will outgrow them...but he has not. We are buying him another TRIO set for Christmas. Can't recommend this product enough. It's made well. The pieces all fit together nicely, and VERY durable. No tiny pieces like Legos or Knex to step on or find under the rug after trying to pick them all up. It's a lifesaver for any parent...take them on trips for keeping kids entertained in hotels...take them to friend's houses...very easy to clean up and put away.

I bought this after I bought my son another TRIO Batman Batcave set which he loved!! The TRIO line is great because they allow my children's creations to be played with without falling apart. This is a very cute set that my children have been playing with nonstop for the past week since they received it. I love the many possibilities that this toy allows. My sons have made all sorts of creatures!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5-year-old plays with TRIO blocks every single day..., March 31, 2011

My four-year-old son was given this set as a gift a year ago, and I've been meaning to write a rave review ever since. He has since gotten LEGOs but nothing, nothing compares to this toy in terms of how often he plays with it and how many hours and hours of creative fun he's had with it, with no signs of slowing down. In fact, we have a clean-up exception for these blocks--he can clean up his playroom area but is allowed to leave out the blocks, since they're going to come right back out anyway. They're so easy to click, brightly colored, with enough varied pieces that he's constantly building monsters, aircraft, you name it. Absolutely a wonderful, wonderful toy that inspires him to create, and a great gift idea.
