5.0 out of 5 stars Trio's are Fun
This is a great addition to the larger set, the castle. However, if you want something small, it works for that as well. There's enough to keep kids entertained, no matter what their age.

Sorry. I wanted to like this product and so did my 5-year old son. He loved the concept. But the pieces are just too darn hard to put together. My son was so excited to have a new toy that he thought he could put together himself. Two or three times, he tried for several hours to put the tower together (he was very intent on doing it himself which I thought was great), but each time he ended in tears because the tower would crumble as he tried to complete it. Great concept - poor assembly mechanism.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not age appropriate., January 12, 2010

Very well made and put together was then fun to play with. My son is four and is very good with his hands and putting lego's together. It is something you need to sit down and do for them. He could not take them apart.
My daughter is 10 and it took her awhile to put this together.
And she is very swift when it comes to doing anything like this.
Not saying that it isn't worth it, just that the age should be upped!

I purchased this for my son's birthday a year ago. At first he was unable to play with it because he had difficulty puttingthe TRIO blocks together. Now at 5 years old, he plays with them ALL the time. Great toy for the older child.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!, February 15, 2011

My son is 3 years old, he will be turning 4 in April. We were lucky enough to get the sample toy car when they were giving them away. His eyes lit up when it finally arrived. Yes, he sometimes has a hard time snapping the pieces together, but most of the time he can actually do it himself. The same goes for taking the pieces apart. And when I see him having a hard time with the pieces I just encourage him to push/pull harder or to place the toy on the floor and push. I enjoy helping him with this toy and I look at it like quality playtime with my son. I like the fact that he gets very creative with the designs. These issues do not mean that this toy is of poor quality. In my opinion, poor quality means that the item is not sturdy and breaks easily. My son is very hard on his toys and when he is crashing his bigger toy cars into his Trio car, the pieces do not even come apart. That is quality, if you ask me. Overall, I think this is a great product. Overall, I gave it 4 stars for the minor assembly issues my son has.

P.S. After receiving the free car my son asked us to buy him more. Not wanting to give him everything he asks for, we did not buy it for Christmas, but we will be buying this for his birthday. I'm looking forward to seeing his eyes shine when he opens it!

I bought about 15 toys (lego and its family) for son's Birthday. This was the firs toy he opened -- boy i was delighted to see his happy face. He enjoyed building this so much that he wanted to do over and over again. Highly recommended based on todays play.

My 6 year old really wanted these for Christmas but they weren't fitting in the budget with some other items he wanted more. When Amazon had sale prices on these they were so good I could not pass up. I was pleasantly surprised. They build large structures, good size cubes for small hands. Sometimes they are hard to get snapped together and will make the structure less stable, but if you get them snapped tight then the whole thing can be picked up by a piece and carried around. Even my 15 year old daughter thinks these are cool. I have since bought 4 more different sets for him including the Wizard's Castle & King's Castle. We have multiple large rubbermaid storage bins of imaginext and geotrax which we loved as well but these are so much better. They are cooler than the duplo legos, my son doens't regard these as baby toys, but much easier for him to build with than the regular legos he has.
