My children 4 and 8 had a great time creating their own works of art! This was very easy to set up and since my children play on the Wii- it was easy for them to catch on to the "eye" concept. The kids also loved the fact that you can save your work on a flash drive and print from the computer....they love to display all of their artwork. One down side was that when you had the pointer on an item to select and you hit the orange button- it did not always select the first time...this became frustrating to my 4 year old. Overall good product but a bit pricey.

My children ages 7,9 and 10 have all been having a terrific time playing with the Splatster. The game took just a few minutes to set up and it operates similar to our Wii system with the magic eye. All three kids had a blast making funny pictures and designs with the different activities and as a teacher I appreciated the artistic and creative aspect to the toy. Definitely unlike any of our other video games. Something new and different.

My daughter got this for her birthday. I love FP. We have several of there toys. It is way too much for the money and my 4 yr old hates it. You have to be right in front of the tv and it is hard to pick up the paint brush on the screen. It kinda reminds of a poor version of the WII remote. It was even hard for me at the age of 33. We also have a new HD tv and we can't use it on the new tv. It has to old plugs for an older tv. Not many people have those kinds of tv anymore. All in all don't waste your money and this thing. Just got and get markers and paper! Really your kid will love it more then this thing!

Bought this toy for my 4 year old grandson. The idea is good but the toy simply is extremely frustrating for both children and adults. I am a computer professional and I work all day on computers but using this toy is extremely frustrating. The wireless wand simply does not do what it's supposed to do! It does not coordinate your hand movement with the arrow on the screen. It is frustrating for a grown up, let alone for a 4 year old child. Waste of time and money; don't even go near the this toy!

I test electronic toys before giving them for Christmas and cannot get this thing to work. Controlling the brush is awful, it does not place it anywhere close to where I want and I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to do because I could not control the paintbrush. Maybe it was because it was daylight out, it says sun or glare can interfere, but I did have the drapes shut! Maybe it only works well in the dark, but I don't like a toy you can only play at certain times of day, and our Wii does not give us any problems, so I don't know why this thing does. It's going back though. Not happy with it at all.

We received the toy quickly and in pretty good shape, but it didn't work. We tried everything to get it to work, but it never did. We even hired an IT person to come over and see if there was anything that we could do. I still have the product, but don't know what to do with it and feel like I wasted my money. I have never had this problem before.

I have been shopping at Amazon for years and this is my first review. Pretty much need to warn people away from this product. My 6 year old got this for her birthday and she got so frustrated that she started to cry. She can easily use the Wii, Kinect and my ipod without my help so she knows what she is doing. Even I had a hard time getting this toy to respond. I know the tech is not as good as the products I listed, but for over $50, it should at least work as advertised. I wouldn't even spend $20 for this toy as it just creates more frustration than fun.

My 5-year old received this for Christmas. We finally broke it out of the box and hooked it all up. Despite what someone mentioned about having a new HD TV and the cables not working, I have to disagree. Our TV is 6 months old (new LED one), and the Splatster hooked up just fine. The colors on the chords don't match the tv, but I figured it out. We used this toy for maybe 10 minutes. I used it first to show my son how to use it but found it very difficult to get it move as I wanted it, select what I wanted. Once I finally selected what I wanted and was able to color freely (I made no attempts to actually draw something; I just scribbled), it worked ok, but then when I wanted to change the brush, it was difficult to get where I wanted. I then handed it over to my son who had a lot of the same trouble I had except to a larger degree. At one point it seemed like the button was stuck but wouldn't select anything still. My son finally gave up. I attempted to close out what he had managed to draw, but I gave up and turned the machine off manually. My son wants to return it, I couldn't agree more with him. Someone mentioned glares causing a problem. Well, the tv in our house is located in a room with a few windows. I had the blinds covering where the sun was shining most, but I'm not going to make him use this only in a dark room. We have a Wii that works just fine in this room. Fisher Price usually has better toys than this. The majority of the reviews on this toy are negative. Too bad. It's a good idea so we don't have to clean up messes, but it just doesn't work like it should. I have no idea how a 3-year old would be able to use this. My 3-year old would have thrown the remote to the ground out of frustration. I would not buy this and do not recommend it.

Save your money and do NOT buy this. It does not work more than half the time and is extremely frustrating to children (as well as the adults trying to make it work for them) when it doesn't respond as it should. The idea isn't bad, but the implementation is terrible. I wish I had read the reviews first.
