please do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this product. I love the swing and highly recommend the brand but this seat is a waste. I have twins and currently own 6 bouncy seats. These are by far the WORST product that I have come across from FP. I think as adults we look at it and think "Hmmmm fluffy and comfy -- if I was a baby thats where I would want to be". There are two main issues with this chair

1. most babies (7 of the 8 I know) grow out of this in three months
2. the vibration turns off after 15 minutes and most babies wake up

buy the Sensory Selections bouncer by FP. I am still using it 6 months later. Everyone that bought the papasan chair that I know is upset at the high cost and low functionality. Two other mommys subsequently bought the Sensory selections one

Try to find a used one if you really think that it is great. The whole thing is washable so you don't have to worry about cleaning another kids germs off

I agree with the other parents who stated that you should actually get one that bounces and has toys. I think most of the people who gave five star reviews on this have brand new babies still. My kids both hated it after 3 months and they were under 5 lbs so it was still roomy enough

It is really interesting to read some of the negative reviews on a seat that after my second child I decided is one of my "must haves". I think it depends on what you expect out of the seat. I plan to use it only for the first 3-4 months as it is an infant seat and not a bouncer. But for those first couple months it is where my 2nd and 3rd babies spent a great deal of their time either sleeping or gazing around. Most (but not all) bouncy chairs have too much of a recline or a dip for a newborn baby. The papasan seats fit newborns so well, and you can even snuggle them in by tucking a blanket around both sides between the main seat area and the pillow. My colicky son was actually content in his papasan chair at least 50 % of the time. He was also refluxy, and it gave him the perfect sleeping spot many a nap and even bedtime. I love how easy it is to move around, even with baby in it,(not recommended, but we did it often), and that I can put it on the floor or even in the crib when my babies are little. It's easy to wash, folds down pretty flat, and is nice and sturdy.

I actually like the 15 minute timer as it is usually is enough to lull baby to sleep or back to sleep if they start stirring, without worries of it completely eating up the batteries. Although, it would be nice to have a 2 or 3 setting timer. Like 15 min, 30 min, and 45 min. Not enough of an issue to stop me from loving it.

I guess having different expectations might make a difference in whether one likes it or not. I love mine enough that I eventually bought a second, one for downstairs and one for upstairs.

Our FP Baby Papasan Seat has now gone through 5 babies and is still like new. We love this chair for the newborn stage (birth to 3-4 months)as it is sturdy, has a gentle incline and most importantly it doesn't bounce.

All our newborns have had major reflux issues due to my over supply and over active let down. We can't lay them flat ever for the first few months of life or they bring back the contents of their stomach. This chair has allowed them to sleep in a gentle incline that allows them to keep their feed down AND get some much needed sleep. It also allows me to actually get breaks from wearing the baby constantly while running after the other children.

I love that the fabric is easy to remove and machine washable, especially with severe reflux. I also love how easy it is to fold flat for storage once they outgrow the chair and we put it away until the next baby arrives. I know there have been comments about it being too warm, but we live in South Florida and we've never had an issue with any of our babies getting too hot in this chair. They like the snugness, especially when we can almost swaddle them by tucking a cover under the sides of the seat cushions.

We do stop using this chair at about 4 months and start using a bouncy seat at that time, but I do really prefer this seat to a bouncy chair for those first couple of months when they do not have much control of their head. You won't get a tilted neck in this chair that you get with a bouncy chair when they don't have good head control. It is perfect for the early months, but may not be what you need once they get a bit older.

This chair was a god sent for my daughter who suffered from acid relux since a new born. I could not lay her down flat in her crib , she constantly got sick. I could sleep and didn't have to worry about her choking. She literally slept in the chair till she was able to lift herself out. I'm looking for the pink one for my niece . Very disappointed to see they don't make it anymore.. I give this a 5 star for over all function.

This little piece of baby swing/seat is really really helpful on baby sitting my infant girl, so we as tired parents can get some break. The cover is very soft and a little blanket on top keeps the baby very warm. The whole thing is so easy to take off, wash and put it back. My baby likes playing the little rabbit. We feel so excited to see her able to touch the rabbit and pull it off after few months' practicing herself. We change the little rabbit to other snap objects, like little pig, so she won't get bored. The seat frame made with with study material, so it is very safe. When the baby grow older, we put a piece of music toys (the one that help baby stands) in front of the seat, she can seat in the seat and play with the music toy. We get extra break. The seat belt is safe, so sometimes we will buckle the baby there when we need to be away and get some stuffs in the bathroom, kitchen, etc. This is a must piece for parents who has young baby.
