I bought this for my one year old "leap day baby" niece. I brought it up to work to show it around to everyone else here. Upon noticing it was only playing the "demo", and trying not to fully take it out of the box ( I asked my brother if i could and he said no! ), I noticed a protection tab that could be pulled out.
Anyway, comments mention below it shuts off after two minutes of inactivity. That is MORE than enough time as anything longer might start to drive ya nuts. It reacts to snapping, clapping, and even his name when spoken loudly! Everyone at work wants one now for themselves, and I am the youngest in my office at age 36! Too cute, too precious!

I was browsing down the toy aisle with my 9 month old son and I saw this on the shelf. I thought it was adorable and my son was looking at it too, so I picked it up. I played the demo and Eeyore played peek a boo and then said, "I love you, baby." It was too cute!! My son was reaching for it and I was too, so in the cart it went. Now that it's home I have to help him start it up, he is a little young yet to activate it. He is probably not loud enough for the voice control or the rattle, but I am sure he will be soon enough. I love that it has more than one song and activity. A lot of baby toys just have one or two songs/activities and they do them over and over. This is more of a variety. Plus, it's Eeyore. He is so cute and a lot less done then Pooh. Fun, interactive toy for baby.

Singing and dancing toys seem to be very popular now. Peek N Play Eeyore first reminded me of a toy I had when I was younger, Tickle Me Elmo.
I noticed that Eeyore is an interactive toy like Elmo was, but it seems to have more activities and songs. Eeyore has seven different activities that toddles can enjoy. While I remember Elmo as having only two or three. Eeyore sings well known songs like "Patty Cake" and also has movable ears for the child to enjoy. Also, Eeyore is motion activated which can make it easier for the child to play with. All that is needed is a shake of the butterfly or a clap of the hands to activate the toy. On the other hand, with Elmo you had to push his stomach which may have been harder for some children to do. Another benefit of Eeyore is that he is soft and cuddly, which is practical for a child's toy. Tickle Me Elmo had a hard middle which could cause injuries if accidentally hit with it, as can happen with kids. Overall, Eeyore seems to be a practical gift for anyone with a young child or toddler. He is entertaining, educational, and fun for kids to play with. He has variety, which is a necessity since it can help limit boredom.

I bought this for my 5-month old daughter for Christmas. She is just beginning to use a rattle, so her interactions with Eeyore are limited at best. Whenever she does shake the rattle to turn him on though, her attention is immediately grabbed. She seems to think he is very interesting, and I'm sure as she gets older, they will really have fun.
Other than my daughter, my husband and I find this toy to be great for laughs. A lot of parents always post on these reviews that a toy is "annoying" because it says the same things over and over...well, Eeyore has a lot of different games, songs, and things to say. Besides that, of course it will be a little annoying if you are subject to it for hours and hours, that's what most kid's toys are because they learn from repetitiveness...haven't you ever seen Dora The Explorer? Now that can be annoying...but as a parent, I am happy to watch and sing along with my 2-year-old.

I bought this on sale and feared it would be a SALE toy, but I was impressed that it is cute and works. My baby is only 11 weeks old but it keeps her entertained and is interactive. I should have bought an extra one of the inlaws house.

I saw this online, then I was at Wal_mart a few days ago and found one for $7(the packaging was damaged). My 8mo old daughter LOVES this toy. She is mesmerized by the moving ears. When it stops moving she usually laughs loud enough to start it back up again. The rattle that comes with it works well too. We love this toy.

My 1-year old grand-daughter loves Eeyore. She more enjoyed the feel of Eeyore's ears and body, rather than play with it. She also enjoyed tasting the rattle rather than shaking it. When mommy showed what Eeyore could do she giggled.
Overall I think this particular toy is more for an 18-month child, as opposed to a 12-monther. |
