5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!
My daughter received this for her 1st birthday and it is the toy she first plays with every day. She loves that it lights up and makes choo choo noises. The songs aren't annoying either. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not as fun as Sillytown
We got this toy because my son thinks the Fisher Price Sillytown toy - which has the same blocks - is the best. He is 7 months old, and he plays with Sillytown for at least 20 minutes a day. I thought this toy would also catch his attention because it is similar. It doesn't. It is too hard for him to push, because he is just crawling himself! Maybe he will like it...

The handle on the train lets her push it, which she does. The caboose people go up and down when you push it too. She loves all the silly blocks and likes to shake them. I usually stack them up and she takes them all off. The train has very bright colors which makes it fun too. I think I'm going to get her the FP Stack N Surprise Sillytown for Christmas since she likes this so much.

You would think, in looking at the toy, that the little slider rings and the spinning cylinder would be on both sides of the toy, but, no, you have to be looking at the right side of the toy to play with those. Nothing on the side that isn't shown. My daughter currently loves playing with the blocks that come with this, though.

This is the favorite toy my grandson got for his first birthday. The best part of it is the handle on the top of the train. He loves to drag it around with him. He still has a lot to discover about it since he is only 12 months old.

I got this toy for my son when he turned 9 months- He wasnt too interested in it the first month. But once he figured out how to push it he takes it everywhere he goes! He's now 11 months and its the first thing he plays with everyday! It even tought him how to stack the little toys ontop of the train.
Every kid who comes to play loves this toy! Best 25 bucks I ever spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Fisher Price toy!, December 3, 2010
This review is from: Fisher-Price Peek-a-Boo Stack 'n Surprise Blocks Choo-Choo (Toy)
My son received this last Christmas after I fell in love with Silly Town for him. I think I am still a kid at heart, because of all the toys I have bought him (he is our miracle baby, so he is quite spoiled) there have only been 2 that he has not played with. I just knew he would love this toy, and boy did he ever. You just cannot go wrong with any of the Stack 'n Surprise toys. He would first shake the blocks that came with the assortment of toys, then would stack them on the different sets.

I disagree with the age that Fisher Price suggests for some of the Stack 'n Surprise toys, but not with the Choo-Choo. My son loves cars and trains, so he still plays with this at over 2 years old. I tell him to get his choo-choo, and he brings the Stack 'n Surprise Choo-Choo. I think it will definitely be given to my nephew next year when he turns 1.

I think this is definitely going to be a Fisher Price classic, and I will not be selling it, or donating it. It is going in a special box so that my son can pass it down to his children.

My son received this for his 1st birthday and still plays with it every day and he is now 2 1/2. He loves choo-choos and he chooses this one over many of the Thomas toys he has. The best feature for him is the handle. He can push it all around using the handle. Now I am buying it for a new 1 year old because it is one of our most favorite toys!

While I like the choo choo noises and the surprise blocks, I think it's annoying that the back car of the train constantly falls off. I think it should have come attached to the engine since it is just a baby toy. The peek and surprise block toys by Fisher Price are very cute and my son really likes them, but I am not super thrilled with this toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 4-month old's (yes, you heard that right) favorite toy!, January 17, 2011

We were recently given this choo-choo and it immediately became my 4-month old's favorite toy. He loves the light and sounds and the songs and pushing the train to make them happen, even though he's not very adept at doing it himself yet. He laughs as the little faces pop up and down. He loves knocking the face blocks off of the train and tries to put them back on, though he hasn't (of course) mastered that yet.

We're also using it to teach colors and shapes, as with everything.

Moreover, he is fascinated when I make the train go around him in circles. He is quickly learning that when it disappears on his left, but he keeps hearing it going from left to right behind him, that it's going to reappear on his right, and he eagerly looks for it there. So it's helping him learn object permanence and understand how the directionality of sound correlates with the location of an object.

We play with it daily and he's nowhere near getting the least bit sick of it, nor finished discovering all the bits of it yet (e.g. the little slider rings) and things he'll be able to do with iot (e.g. stack the face blocks high). Plus, we both love the realistic train sounds, and the songs aren't nearly as annoying when played over and over as those of most toys are.

I'm sure he'll be playing with this train for years.

My only recommendations for improvement are:
-- I would like to be able to select a "train sounds only mode"
-- It would be nice to have the option to hear the whole songs played rather than just a small portion of each, if the train was kept in motion when in "song mode".
