I bought this for my three year old son. I wanted an entertaining toy for a trip we were taking. I could not find the volume adjuster and was worried about how annoyed the other people on the plane would be with the noise from the toy. The volume CAN be turned off... THANK GOODNESS. It is a great toy. My son loves it. He loves the music(very pleasant). I think it is very educational. I bought the software in which he can practice writing the letters of the alphabet. It keeps him occupied for hours (great for plane rides). I can not rate it for durability because we have only had it for a week. Definitely a must to have.

My daughter got this for her seventh birthday and loved it - while it worked. After about 4 months, it just stopped working. The screen would come on and sometimes you could choose things, but most of the time it just didn't work. Now we have all these cartridges, and I don't know if I want to invest more money into this thing and buy another one so all the cartridges don't go to waste. Two of my friends went on to buy it and they also had problems within months. Bummer because she really did enjoy the games.

My daughter loved to use my Palm Pilot to draw, write and investigate the features. She was constantly wearing the battery out and it spent most of the time on the charger. For her fifth birthday I decided to get her a "Palm Pilot" of her own. She uses it constantly and is an expert because of her experience! We have additional games and the light, but the best accessory I bought was the case. It keeps it neat and organized and protects it from potential damage. Pixter keeps her entertained and busy in the car and at home- she would rather use it than watch t.v. For $... Pixter is an exceptional value, has made her happy and allowed me to make appointments on time since mine is not worn out!

I am a 10 year old kid and I have alwyas wanted a P.D.A. Of corse, those are way to expensive for a kid to buy so when I saw the Pixter I fell in love with it! It is a wounderful toy and great for car trips. I dropped it 2 times and it still works. If your screen doesn't work it tells you how to callabaret it.WOUNERFUL!!!

My son received Pixter 2.0 as a 5th birthday gift from his Godmother. He loves all it can do. He especially loves the freestyle drawing. Each day we discover something new it can do. Our only problem is that I want to play with it too and he only gives me a few seconds. I can't blame him it's a wonderful item for children of all ages.

I brought this for my 5 year old son when he was 4 years old and he still loves it. He mainly leaves it in the car and uses it when we travel to pass the time away. He has held it by the string only, dropped it and it still functions with out problems.

The Pixter itself is a fantastic toy. My youngest daughter is 4 and has Autism, we bought this for her to discourage her from drawing on the walls. It definately worked. There is a lot of neat features and extra cartridges you can purchase for it. For all intents and purposes the toy is a great buy if you can get it on sale.My only problem with it is while the volume can be controlled the speaker "blew" within 3 months of having this and when the sound is turned on it makes a REALLY loud and awful sound in the main menu when the song is playing. We had to open up the case and cut the wire because she wouldnt keep the volume off anf it was that awful. Be aware that this toy is not very durable.

My triplets granddaughters used Etch-a-Sketch to oblivion and my daughter said they would like Pixter. So I bought 3 of them (with cases) and had Amazon send them to the girls. Well I got a call back from these 6-year olds - they loved the Pixters and they use them every day. One of them is investigating advanced features already. They use these when they travel - it goes in the car and it has held up great - they have had it since beginning of March. My granddaughters would highly recommend Pixter. I don't know why they are on clearance but snap them up.

We bought this pixter for our 3.5 year old daughter as a toy for an airplane trip. It was great - it kept her occupied for the entire round-trip. And she still continues to enjoy playing with it 4 months later. It's durable and fun.

I bought this toy for my 10 year old son for Christmas. I also got him one learning casette with it. I thought it was a great idea for a toy. A child can draw, learn and do activities and it's portable. Well, he's never taken it anywhere and doesn't even play with it anymore. The games are not as engaging as I had thought they would be.
