4.0 out of 5 stars Do not pay more than $49!!
You can find this toy at many other locations (including the fisher price site itself!) for $49 dollars. The price is inflated only because you can not find it here. Don't pay inflated prices.

3.0 out of 5 stars We didn't like it as much as we thought we would
Today is my sons 5th birthday and he is completely obsessed with Planet Heroes, so we thought this would be the perfect gift for him. He was really excited when he opened his present, so we got right to work assembling it.

It's extremely easy to assemble. The pieces all snapped together in about five minutes and it looks like it will stay together fine...

Today is my sons 5th birthday and he is completely obsessed with Planet Heroes, so we thought this would be the perfect gift for him. He was really excited when he opened his present, so we got right to work assembling it.

It's extremely easy to assemble. The pieces all snapped together in about five minutes and it looks like it will stay together fine.

There were a few things I don't like about it though. First of all, it doesn't really DO very much. There is a trap door that my son seems to like, and it lights up and announces "missions", but it doesn't do a whole lot more than that.

There is a neat looking pod where a chair pops out of it when you push down the lever, but so far it's a total dud. For one thing, the door keeps getting stuck and doesn't open right half the time and we've tried three different Planet Heroes and none of them fit in pod. You can snap them into the chair but then the pod won't close. From the picture on the box it looks like maybe the new version of Ace fits in it, but we don't have that one. We tried the old version of Ace and he definitely doesn't fit. It's a shame that they wouldn't design this so that the original Planet Heroes fit.

My son doesn't seem to mind it's downsides and is playing happily with it, so I can't really give it a horrible review, but I'm a little dissapointed in it. It's a pretty expensive toy for something that doesn't really do a whole lot and doesn't accomodate the original Planet Heroes.

For the thirteen I paid on clearance at TRU, this is great. My 8 and 5 years olds are having a lot of fun after two days, though I know from experience that most toys like this get "boring" (insert whiny kid voice) after a few weeks and will then get pulled out only every few months. We'll see how long the new toy high lasts. The toy doesn't do anything incredibly interesting in my opinion, but my kids are having a lot of fun with it right now. It gets them using their imagination, and they are running around the house "flying in outer space." And they are playing together - nicely! That makes it worth thirteen right there :)

My son, now 6, still plays with this toy! He received this and most of the other Planet Heroes toys when he was 4. I can't remember if he was interested in space first, and that's why we got him the toys, or if the toys sparked the interest, but either way they go hand-in-hand for any kid that loves space! All of the toys in the collection have held up great and they typically come with short DVD movies too, added plus!
