Although the product does not fold up, one can easily carry it from room to room or from house to house, which is great when visiting relatives/friends.

Like many new parents, I looked at baby swings out of desperation, even though I was a staunch minimalist when it comes to baby gear. I'm writing this review because this seems to be a relatively new product with barely any reviews, but I took a chance and bought it. Since a swing is a big (literally) investment, rest assured this one is a good choice. Everyone gets the Snugabunny swing, but why bother (unless you like your home to feel like Babies R Us)? This does front-to-back and side-to-side swinging so you can get it before you even know which your baby prefers, which was a definite factor in our decision.

This has all the features of a deluxe full-size swing, including six speeds, tons of music and sound options but in a 40% smaller size (according to Fisher Price). I think most of the size must be the height of the swing; it's not as tall as a full-size swing, and the seat is slightly lower to the ground, but babies don't even sit that much higher in full-size swings. Full-size swings might have a slightly longer swing arc, but only slightly - and I really can't imagine a baby enjoying swinging at max power.

Some reasons we bought it:
- small size
- two swinging directions (no buying a $$ piece of baby gear to find out your kid hates it)
- AC power operation (has option for battery power)
- six swing speeds (can't imagine anyone would need more)

Some pluses if you care:
- good music options
- some non-music options (though I wish there were more. A white noise option would be good)
- designed to be easily carried from room to room
- very light, neutral colors. Actually, it looks lighter in reality than in the photos.

I Like:
1)That this takes up less space, you can fold up the legs (The seat doesn't fold up), and easily carry it from room to room with the handle.
2) A pretty deep seat, not as deep as a rock n play, but deeper then the papasan swings like the Snugabunny.
3) My husband said setting it up wasn't too bad, it was actually fairly user friendly.
4) The little head cushion works fine, The higher settings it swings pretty fast but my babies head stayed center - no flopping from side to side.
5) This can swing front to back or side to side with an easy twist of the seat
6) I love that this has the option to plug in saving batteries (although you could use batteries if you wanted).

I Dislike:
1) The mobile is not detachable, it is sewn together onto the swing
2) The motor is noisy, noisier then say the Snugabunny swing. It sounds weird when it is trying to adjust the speed (they call it smart swing technology) so that is has the same speed no matter the weight of the baby, it actually reminded me of the beginning of the Mission Impossible theme song. You can hear it working to tweak the speed and it sounds out of sync- the noise of the motor doesn't bother me if it is a regular tempo, but when you change the speed and it does that it gets on my nerves.
3) I don't care for music in baby products, but I do like the white noise/nature sounds. However the nature sounds for this is a babbling brook which is nice but they also add in occasional bird and frog noises which to me is irritating because it breaks up the nice water noises.

I bought two of these for my two month old twins. I love them, they are exactly what I was looking for. The seat has three positions, that means that it will sit upright when the baby is a little older instead of always being in a reclined position like a papasan swing. The fabric is adorable and girly, the seat looks soft and comfy. There are pockets on the outside that come in handy for storing things like pacifiers, small toys, etc. The tray is easy to remove and attach and is big enough to hold a small toy, etc. The mobile has three butterflies hanging from it. The wings make a crinkle sound and can be detached so the baby can play with them. One of the best things is that they plug into your electrical outlet, no batteries are needed. I used to have the Graco Lovin' Hugs swing and buying D batteries really started adding up after a while. The only thing that might be considered a con is the music. It's just a basic on/off switch which means that you can't pick what song you want; after you turn it on it plays continuously however that isn't something that I have a problem with.

Style Name: Cradle 'n Swing Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is very useful if you need a lot of flexibility in where your baby naps. If you have a good dedicated space a full sized swing (in particular I like the Fisher-Price swings like this one: Fisher-Price Snugabunny Cradle 'N Swing) is a much better option: the full sized swing can swing side-to-side or pivot to swing front-to-back, can support a higher weight, and has more swing levels. However if that doesn't work for you, or you have that, but you need something for napping away from home then this is a great portable swing.

It does well at the four most important things:

It's safe: it sits low to the ground, and the support design is simple but effective. The harness is easy to use and keeps the baby from falling or leaning out.

It's cozy: I had this same basic fabric on one of our FP swings and it goes through the washing machine without any shrinking or tearing.

Decent swing levels: While not as effective as a full-sized swing it has a good number of swing options.

Easy to move: you can fold it up, but the profile is so small you probably won't need to, just grab it and go.

I like that it doesn't have a ton of toys. Those are there to look cute for parents. Toys won't help your baby take a nap - and the more a toy moves or lights up, the worse it is for getting a baby to sleep. And honestly, it's all about getting the baby to go to sleep. The angle too is great for babies with colds - keeping them a little upright can help prevent ear infections and help reduce nasal drip issues.

So overall this is a great portable option - if you need one. Or if you just have money to spare.
