Product Description

Editorial Review

This is one of those toys that you wish you had as a kid. Working on four C batteries (not included), the Rescue Heroes Ultimate Rescue Vehicle can do just about anything young imaginations dream up. Attached to its back with a coil cord is a remote control that allows kids to move it forward, backward, left, or right. The control also has two green buttons that create sound effects, and a red knob that maneuvers the robot's right arm, which has a clawlike hand for picking up or removing obstacles. Features on the robot itself include a winch attached at the left hand, which can be deployed by the push of a button and wound back up with the blue crank handle; a button that raises the torso of the robot to "maximum body extension" for those out-of-reach rescues; a button that pops the robot's head up and turns on a bright spotlight; and a flip-down platform in the back that can carry a Rescue Hero to the scene. Added cool factor: when you place a Voice Tech Rescue Hero (sold separately) in the robot's cockpit, the URV will recognize them and call them by name. --Pam Lauer

5.0 out of 5 stars The Coolest Rescue Hero Toy Yet, October 2, 2002
By A Customer
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: PowerMax Ultimate Robotic Vehicle (Toy)
We just gave this toy to my son for his bday last night and he loves it. "URV" is very fun. The robot holds figures and is controlled by an easy remote control. It lights up and speaks with the voice tech characters. It is a bit heavy at 14 lbs and kids 3 and under might need help holding it. I predict this toy will be one of the hottest holiday toys so buy it early. It seems sturdy. It has a couple of negative features. The first is that it requires 7 batteries, 4 c's and 3 AAA's. That could get pricey. I also wish the remote was cordless for ease of use. It also took me a while to figure out how to use the power max tools with it. But that is the only feature that gave us problems. If your kids love rescue heroes they will definately want this toy. I can already see that it will be my son's favorite rescue toy. He loves all the special features, he was amazed when it scanned and revealed the voice tech figures idenity. He can't wait to get home from school and use it with all his Rescue Hero Toys. I know it is a bit expensive but it is well made and worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rescue Heroes Rule!, October 2, 2002

My son loves Rescue Heroes, and I do too! They're so reasonably priced. They're so durable, and best yet, they don't come with a thousand itty bitty parts that get lost or broken after you open the package! Besides all the obviouse basic of the URV, my son (and husband) were amazed that the URV recognized each Voice Tech. figure! I, on the other hand, thought it was so cool how the robot used Jack Hammer's saw! Guess I'll be buying every Voice Tech. figure I can find :>)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Toy!, September 27, 2002
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: PowerMax Ultimate Robotic Vehicle (Toy)
We purchased this toy for our 4 year old son. He loves it. My 2 year old son likes it also. My husband and I think the toy is a lot of fun. We did have a little trouble getting the winch arm to extract. The Rescue Heroes are great at getting the imagination going. My son is constantly in the mode of saving someone from distress. We were glad to add this toy to our collection. Well worth the money.
