Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Featuring a unique two-way motion and three different seat positions, the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Open Top Cradle Swing soothes, calms, and stimulates your baby. When your child is in a playful mood, the swing helps keep her stimulated with motion, music, and toys; when she's tired or cranky, the music, motion, and cushioned infant headrest encourage relaxation. For added convenience, the Cradle Swing comes with a swing-away snack tray and folds easily for storage.

Baby swings side-to-side in a cradle-like motion...

... or head-to-toe in a traditional swinging motion.
Motorized mobile spins when baby wants to play and swings away for easy access to baby.

Six soothing speeds and twelve songs (six soothing, six playful) plus nature sounds.

Designed to Promote Comfort and Security for Your Baby
With its soft padded seat and soothing motion, the Cradle Swing instantly envelops your baby in comfort and encourages a feeling of security. With the simple press of a button, you can select one of two different rhythmic swinging motions to help soothe your baby, as well as six sweet songs to keep your baby calm. As your child gently swings, the padded infant headrest ensures his head is properly supported, and the comfy fabric feels soft to his delicate skin. When you can't hold your baby in your arms, this swing takes over with a cozy rocking motion that lets your child drift off to dreamland.

Mobile and Music Stimulate Your Baby's Senses
This swing includes an adorable mobile that spins above your baby, helping to engage her senses and natural curiosity. The mobile's spinning motion and colorful characters (a bright blue whale, a green spotted turtle, and a smiling yellow-and-orange fish) also enhance your baby's visual tracking skills, while six playful songs stimulate her audio skills.

Endless Variety Suits Your Baby's Changing Needs
Because your baby's needs change from day to day (and hour to hour), this swing can be easily adjusted to suit his mood and temperament. With a simple turn of the seat, you can soothe your baby with two different swing settings: side-to-side, in a cradle-like motion to help encourage rest, or head-to-toe in a motion like that of a traditional playground swing. Six swing speeds, 12 songs (six soothing and six playful), and nature songs combine with three different seat positions to offer your baby endless variety.

Easy-to-Operate Swing Gives Parents a Break
Quick and easy to set up, the Cradle Swing can be moved from room to room, so your baby stays safely occupied while you clean, cook dinner, or enjoy a moment of relaxation. Also, the mobile and tray swing away for immediate access to your baby, and the entire unit folds down for compact storage.

Safety and Operation Information
The Cradle Swing is designed to safely hold up to 25 pounds and can be used from birth up until your child becomes active enough to climb out of the seat on his own. It measures 30 x 40 x 36 inches (WxHxL), weighs 20 pounds, and requires four "D" batteries (not included).

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't think I'd recommend it, July 11, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Open Top Cradle Swing (Baby Product)
When my son hit about 16 pounds, the left leg started lifting up a bit each time it swung to the right. Its getting worse now that he is almost 17 pounds. I can't imagine using this up to 25 pounds if its that unsteady now. The design that makes it so easy to turn it from side-to-side swinging to front-to-back swinging leaves the seat (and the baby in it) leaning to one side. Not enough that he would fall out, but he isn't comfortable. And what is the point of the tray? There are no toys on it and even if there were the seat does not sit up enough for him to be able to reach them. What I do like: the music, volume settings and the swing-away mobile. The batteries last a long time too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not the best., July 24, 2009
This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Open Top Cradle Swing (Baby Product)
Someone bought this for my shower. We had the Rain forest travel swing too. My son liked the little swing better. This one just wasn't fast enough to please him. It also takes 4 D Batteries which if you ask me is little much ecspecially when they run out so fast. If your going to spend the extra money on a bigger swing, I would suggest the Rain forest one. It plugs right into the wall, so no batteries. Also the mobiles much cuter, and they can actually see it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Our Baby Likes It, June 2, 2009

This review is from: Fisher-Price Precious Planet Open Top Cradle Swing (Baby Product)
I have read reviews of other swings and compared to the raves of some parents, we are underwhelmed. That said, our baby will sit in this swing for 10-20 minutes and be entertained by the music, swinging and the mobile. The seat is adjustable - there is a more sitting position and one that is more laying. The mobile is a bit on the slow and non-flashy side, but he still seems to enjoy watching the turtle, fish, and whale go in a circle. I would suggest that Fisher Price make the faces more engaging and high contrast which infants seem to prefer. You can't even see the whale's eyes from the swing, which defeats the purpose of a face for the baby to look at. I like how the speed of the swinging is adjustable, and the batteries seem to last a long time. We have to put a rolled up blanket under our baby's head to make sure that he is comfortable, but I'm not sure this could really be fixed by making the swing better. I think it is just hard to make a baby's head comfortable before they have good head control. The swing is cute enough looking. Early on, it did not have any balance problems, but in recent weeks one side of it lifts off the ground a little big when it is swings faster. A bit annoying, but doesn't seem dangerous or to bother baby. Overall, decent swing, although it doesn't strike me as the most amazing thing ever. That said, it is nice to have a few free minutes while little one swings to take care of other things without a baby in arms. I would recommend it to a friend.
