5.0 out of 5 stars Much Improved
We previously owned the rainforest bouncer. This new design seems to be much better. First the toy bar is less complex,(this hopefully makes it less likely to stop working) closer to baby, a tad bit higher and the whale dose not get in the way of baby's legs. Second the safety belt comes up higher on baby. I feel that this makes it safer. I have heard of babies hanging...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bouncy Seat
Cute pattern. I am not crazy about the activity bar. The snowglobe in the middle is kind of annoying. It's loud, baby does not enjoy the popping sounds. I wish it was like my old one that played nursery rhymes. The music is so so. Overall it's okay but for the price I wish the activity bar wasn't so poorly designed.

UPDATE: Not sure if others have...

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Improved, February 9, 2009
We previously owned the rainforest bouncer. This new design seems to be much better. First the toy bar is less complex,(this hopefully makes it less likely to stop working) closer to baby, a tad bit higher and the whale dose not get in the way of baby's legs. Second the safety belt comes up higher on baby. I feel that this makes it safer. I have heard of babies hanging out of the ocean wonders bouncer while still strapped in. This dose not seem possible with this bouncer. The vibration unit still makes a bit of noise but it seems much quieter than the rainforest bouncer. Baby sits more upright in this than in the rainforest bouncer. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for an entertaining bouncer for there baby. My son loves it he was smiling as soon as he got a look at the toy bar. If you have the rainforest bouncer and are having problems with it fischer price has great customer service. They had me send them back (at there expense) the seat pad and part of the frame and are sending me a 48$ voucher for anything fischer price. Only time will tell if this toy bar is going to last, but so far so good. I will add to my review if anything changes.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT product!, January 7, 2010
By TKS (San Diego, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is for the Rainforest and Precious Planet Playful Snow Globe bouncers--because we own both--we LOVE these bouncers!
First --the Rainforest version--this was our original bouncer purchase. It has been an absolute life-saver! Our daughter did not like to sit or lie in anything except our laps/arms--until we tried this chair. She has loved it since first being placed in it around 6-7 weeks and still loves it now at almost 5 months. The vibrating function is wonderful (just remove the toy bar and turn on the vibrating for a calming nap time seat) and the chair has just the right amount of "bounce" when she kicks. The toy bar is really outstanding though. From the glowing waterfall to the moving animals, this captures her attention and holds it--easily for up to 20 minutes. This one has two great toys that hang down--the bird and the monkey. There are also different operating functions--continuous play or child-activated. By 8 weeks old, our daughter could operate the "child-activated" function and has preferred that. It's the placement of the toys that enables the baby to easily reach and touch them. The seat material is high quality with a colorful design that also interests her. I couldn't say enough about how much we enjoy this product. We liked it so much, we purchased another version, so we could have one upstairs and one downstairs, which leads me to...
The Snow Globe version--same great basic design with the vibrating function and just the right amount of bounce. We thought our child would like a little variety, so we chose this one. We were not disappointed! The toy bar is not as phenomenal as the Rainforest one, but it's still wonderful--and can hold her attention easily for 20 minutes. In order for our baby to use the child-activated function she loves, she had to be a little more advanced to use this toy bar, because she needed to be able to reach towards the center with both hands in order to touch the whale, which hangs a little further away than the Rainforest toys. She also seems to prefer the design on this chair a little more--she likes to try to "talk" to her "friends" on the chair. One final note--the toy bar I initially received with this bouncer was slightly defective--the snow-blowing was weak and then stopped entirely. Fisher Price customer service was outstanding in this matter. After a short call, a replacement toy bar was sent out and we received it in a just a few days.
So--all in all--oustanding product design and customer service! If you had to purchase one, I would personally go with the Rainforest, but you wouldn't go wrong with either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bouncer, adorable, March 20, 2009
We bought this bouncer last week and love it! It keeps my 7 week old daughter entertained for up to 30mins and that is saying alot. It gives me time to cook, or do a load of laundry or just eat my lunch. :) She loves staring at the penguin and even smiled at it- she just learned to smile so her smiles are rare. You can play music or nature sounds and when the nature sounds are on then the lights dim a little, which is nice to prevent overstimulation. You can also play the lights and snow globe thing without any music on. I am sure when she is older she will enjoy the baby-activated stuff but for now I love the continous play mode. The fabric on the seat is very soft and comfortable yet feels as if it would be easy to wipe clean. It sits the baby more upright which most babies enjoy but at her current size she could definitely nap in it as well. Yes it's the most expensive bouncer out there, but we bought it after trying a nice baby swing which she hated. Compared to swings, this bouncer is not bad in price for what you get. It provides an entertaining place for the baby to sit, and it's also super cute. Very gender-neutral also. I'm so glad we bought this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bouncy Seat, May 29, 2009
Cute pattern.

UPDATE: Not sure if others have encountered this problem but the vibration is no longer working. Batteries are new and the activity bar works but the vibration does not. This seat does not have separate battery compartments for the seat and activity bar like older models did. Called FP and they are sending new parts so we'll see what happens.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute bouncer - noisy activity bar needs replacing, December 21, 2009
By Sophia M. "Sophia M." (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
We really liked the look of this bouncer, but as soon as we put in the batteries to try it out, we found that the snow globe motor/fan makes a horribly loud noise when you turn it on. You can barely even hear the music or nature sounds over the loud motor. We wish there was a way to turn off that feature so the baby can enjoy the lighted aquarium or music on their own, but it is all or nothing with all the sounds and lights all going at once. Also, the description says that the fish "swim around," but they do not move at all. We are plannning to return the toy bar to Fisher Price and hope for a quick exchange part, since we have heard their customer service is good to deal with. If we still do not get a quiet bar, though, we are going to return this bouncer. Too bad!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Chair, So-So Activity Bar, November 12, 2009

As a simple chair, this seat is cute and comfy and has been very handy, but there have been some definite drawbacks when it comes to the bells and whistles. For one, the vibration setting sometimes causes the entire battery box to rumble loudly, though I've found that as my little one has gotten older and heavier that she dampens the vibrations and this hasn't been as much of an issue. You also can't really use the vibrate setting when the toy bar is attached because it causes the entire bar to rattle like a jackhammer. This hasn't been a huge problem, though, as my daughter has had little interest in the toy bar. She would watch it for a little while when she was smaller, but it's not nearly as interactive as the description would lead one to believe. At four months, my daughter has pretty much outgrown the seat except for the occasional nap (She gets bored quickly and strains to sit up in it unless she's tired.), and she still can't reach that darn whale. She's by no means a small kid (70th percentile for height at her last doctor visit), but by the time she'll be able to reach that whale she'll have outgrown the seat completely. I wish I had gotten a seat with some lower hanging toys, or better yet with some attachment points so I could hang some of her favorite toys. I've taken to clipping toys to the springs that support the penguin and turtle, which sort of works but is hardly ideal. I bought this seat based on all the glowing reviews, and I have used it a good deal as a chair, but overall I'd say that it's been a little disappointing.

New Grandson LOVES this bouncer! He's just now beginning to watch the snow but the music and vibration already holds his attention and makes him a happy boy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than older version, July 13, 2009
We had the Ocean Aquarium bouncer for my oldest son, but lost a single (non-replaceable) part after moving 3 times. I knew how much my son loved the bouncer and how it provided much needed entertainment and distraction so that I could do housework or workout. Despite the price tag, I knew this toy was essential! I bought this one and was more than pleased. It is even better than the older one. The fabric is great, the animals are so cute and I love the polar bear/snow. The best thing of all is that the music is not as annoying and my 2 year old likes to dance along to it while the baby is bouncing and kicking. A must for all babies!

5.0 out of 5 stars Our newborn enjoys it, May 14, 2009
Not that he ever likes to be put down (anywhere), but when we have to set him down, this seems to be the place to put him. He is enamored with the penguin and is learning how to make the lights come on by hitting the whale.
Great product, well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Quite as Good as Rainforest Bouncer, March 15, 2010

I was so pleased with the Rainforest bouncer that I wanted to purchase another, similar style Fisher Price bouncer for my twins to share. I really liked the Precious Planet mobile, and based on the images, i thought the bouncer looked like a good choice. I'm disappointed in the Precious Planet bouncer because while it looks amazing from the parents' point of view, from the child's point of view it is very plain. Not at all like the Rainforest bouncer. With the Rainforest bouncer, what is seen on one side of the bar is seen on the other. I assumed that would be the case with the Precious Planet. Also, only while in rattle mode can the baby activate it by hitting the dolphin (which I feel is in an awkward place for a baby to reach). With the Rainforest bouncer rattle mode or extended play can be activated by baby. And the monkey and toucan are easier for baby to reach and activate himself. However, that said, both my babies delight in both bouncers. I just higher expectations based on the Rainforest bouncer
