Fisher-Price Rainforest Baby View Auto Mirror

I really had high hopes for this mirror after reading many good reviews about it and after looking at many other car mirrors. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for us (we used it in Nissan Murano). The mirror is cute and attaches easily (stays in place pretty well for the most part). However, if you are looking for something that will allow you to see not only the baby overall but his/her face as well then this is not a mirror for you (the customer image/picture submitted by C. Fromel with a little girl right next to the baby is pretty accurate actually of what you will see, maybe a little clearer but not by much, and yes, that small). If I wanted to see, for example, if my son was sleeping, I was not able to do that. I had to ask my older son who is seating next to him to take a look and tell me if his baby brother is sleeping.
Because we couldn't see the baby's face clearly/well enough at all this mirror is useless to us. We got a simple rectangular Fisher Price Travel Care Max-View Baby mirror that works much better (not ideal, but better than Rainforest monkey mirror) as it actually magnifies the view of the baby so that we can see his face really well.

I got this before my daughter was born. She's now 10 months and it's still going strong. It took some tinkering to get it strapped around the headrest right, and tight enough, to prevent the slipping problem another reviewer mentioned, but since re-adjusting it the last time, it hasn't moved a millimeter. I love that I can see so much of my daughter, and the rounded surface means that even if the mirror does slip, you can still see your child without having to pull over and adjust. Overall, an essential buy for new parents!

Great product, fairly easy to install, very visible but not distracting. Miror small but that is OK. The monkey head moves around which acts as a distraction for our 4 month old.

I absolutely love this monkey mirror. My husband has an Eddie Bauer child safety mirror in his truck and it works very well, but only shows the baby's face. This Rainforest mirror shows me my baby's entire car seat so I know what she's doing with her hands as well.

The only thing I would change is the method of stabilizing it. It tethers great to the built-in hook behind my back seat, but the stabilizing strap doesn't attach to the actual seat. If I take a turn faster than 8-10mph, the whole thing tips over. It's not a safety problem, since the mirror is round and I can still see my baby, but it's off-center at this point, so I have to adjust my rear-view mirror...and the monkey is then upside down.

Otherwise... great product!!

I haven't had any problems with this mirror...installing it was pretty easy. it hasn't flopped around (unless my older kids touch it) and I can clearly see my little guy looking around and he smiles at himself while I'm driving. The only issue I have is since I have to put my rear view mirror down a little more, I can't quite see all the traffic behind me...unless I duck my head slightly but no problems, its so much clearer than some of the other mirrors I've had and when I'm finished with it in the car, I'll probably put it in the crib. I'm going to upload my own pics too. Definitely worth the $18 to get this. (Plus I can see my other 2 kids when they start poking him....).

My 10-month-old is still rear-facing in her car seat and she absolutely HATES it. However, since we can't turn her around to forward-facing yet my sister found this mirror for us in the hopes that it would stop our sweetie pie from screaming after 3 minutes in the car.

THIS has done the trick!

We've got the mirror stabilized on the safety latch behind the middle back seat in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's stable enough. And, the mirror height and tilt is adjustable. It's set up so that I can see my daughter AND she can see me waving at her. Most importantly, in the mirror she can see out of the windshield. She LOVES not looking at a back seat.

I'm going to buy a second one of these for my husband's car.

I am so glad that I purchased this item. It's great to be able to see my daughter while we're in the car. When she was a newborn, I wasn't used to all her sounds she made- and this was so great to be able to see if there was something wrong with her or not. Plus, she loves to look at the friendly monkey :) Now that she's older, she enjoys looking at herself in the mirror and makes faces at herself. And sometimes she can even see me in the reflection :)

My daughter is almost 3 months old and she loves this mirror. It makes traveling easier. She just sits in her car sit and talks to the other "baby"and monkey friend in the car. It was super easy to put in the car too. I only wish the the mirror was bigger so I can see her better.

This mirror has two adjustable clips so that it can stay stationary in a vehicle. It also has velcro on the back, but you cannot use the velcro solely if the clips will not work. My Jeep Commander does not have customizable head rests in the back, so this mirror does not work in my car. I would not recommend this mirror if you do not have adjustable head rests. Instead, my husband and I clipped this onto our daughters crib.

I think this mirror is great. While I do think that in trying to make it adaptable for every seat type they've made positioning the mirror more difficult than it should be, it serves its purpose and is cute to boot!

Not only do we like to be able to see our daughter in the mirror, she likes to look at herself and other things via the mirror.

The monkey (following Fisher Price's "Rainforest" line of products) is very cute and colorful. There is a reasonable amount of mirror and the image is pretty good for a child-safe mirror product (not too warped looking).
