5.0 out of 5 stars Alot of fun but disappointing
I bought this toy for my 4 year old son for Christmas last year. Although it is alot of fun, extreme caution should be adhered to because of the spinning blades. I am disappointed however, because the blades no longer spin due to some problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars other rescue hereo toys are better
I bought this for xmas last year for my 5 yr. old. The pull string got stuck out (which keeps the blades from spinning) the very first day. Although we fixed it it continues to do it. It is VERY difficult to get a rescue hereo into the seat, can't be done by a child. And the helicopter is not balanced very well so when you put it on the landing pad of the command center...

It is VERY difficult to get a rescue hereo into the seat, can't be done by a child. And the helicopter is not balanced very well so when you put it on the landing pad of the command center it is very easy to knock it off, which is rather dangerous because it is a fairly large item. We like other pieces much better. Maybe the fire helicopter works better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Three Cheers for Fisher Price!, November 20, 1999

My kids absolutely LOVE Rescue Heroes! It is so nice to see some action figures out there that aren't meant to fight, but to help others instead. When children come to our house to play, the Quick Response Helicopter is the first thing they pick up!

My two older sons, ages 3.5 and 6.5, love this toy. They've been fascinated with the Rescue Heroes since we accidentally gave the younger boy the Gil Gripper action figure. We gave them this helicopter (and the Voice Tech jet) as Christmas gifts. As other reviewers have noted, the blades and windshield pop off easily, and I'm worried that the pull string will meet an early death at the hands of my younger son. Putting action figures in the cockpit is a little tricky for smaller kids, too. Overall, this is a good toy, especially since it encourages positive role play and thinking about safety. Just don't try to use it to airlift the family cat; trust me on this one.

If I could give this toy no stars for durability I would. It was broken within days. My son loves the Rescue Heroes toys. We have never had a problem with any of the other toys in this series and I would highly recommend them. However, save your money and don't buy this one.

We love it!!! Our 4.5 year old son begged us for months to buy him this toy. Finally his grandma gave it to him as a gift. Every day, without exception, he plays with his Rescue Heroes collection - the Command Center is in the middle of it all, surrounded by the ATV, Motorcycle, Jet, and finally the Helicopter. All the "heroes" and their animals are at their perspective posts. They all seem to have a deep discussion going on as to where the fire/flood/earthquake/avalanche is taking place and how to rescue the victims. He never takes a bath without them and never leaves the house without at least a few guys/girls in hand. I am glad that this collection of toys is not violent, but teaches kids how to help those in need. It keeps my son occupied for hours and teaches him how to role play. We've been buying these toys for him for the last 1.5 years and he can't get enough of it. We can't wait until the ship is in the stores, so we can get it for his next birthday. As far as durability goes, if you have little kids you know they'll bang and throw their toys every where. These items have lasted through many very daring "rescue missions", so they must be rather durable.

I purchased this item as a birthday present for my 4 year old. He loves it! It works really well with the command center. Unlike the other responses, my 4 year old (and I) can easily put a figure in the pilot seat. The blades spin when the hook is pulled down. There is enough power in the blades to turn and pull up a rescue hero on the hook. It is a little tough to pull the chord and maybe this is why others feel its not kid friendly. The landing pad is fine for "flying" the toy although you must use two hands. Ours stands well on the ground or on top of the command center. My only wish is that it was voice tech like the jet and fire engine.

This is the worst Rescue Hero accessory! The windshield pops off and won't stay back on, the helicopter blades do the same thing and now finally the pullstring has broken. It is going to the garbage as we speak. Otherwise, we LOVE Rescue Heroes!

Hello, I purchased the Fisher Price Quick Response Helicopter at Christmas, keeping it until my grandson's 4th birthday. He likes action toys and I thought this would be perfect for him. However, the retracting pack holder and the rescue rope were missing from the package. I notice right away for a small child, the helicopter does not stand alone, except when on the platform. The plastic cover over the seat comes off too easily, also. We both are disappointed in the new product. We haven't been able to use the retracting pack, since it is missing. Thanks! Bette Somers

4.0 out of 5 stars Hours of fun for your little one, August 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher-Price Rescue Heroes Quick Response Helicopter (Toy)
To the rescue again!! Fisher Price has come up with a line of toys that are not only positive role models for our kids, but are also just downright fun to play with. The Rescue Heroes Quick Response Helicopter is another excellent toy in this product line. The toy itself is built tough, just as you would expect from Fisher Price, and takes a lot of punishment from my two year-old child. My son loves to play with the movable blades on the copter and the rescue rope provides additional enjoyment so that he can "rescue" other action figures. But, I feel the big surprise was the video that came with this toy. It was an action packed and well-done cartoon that showed the adventures of all the Rescue Heroes. My son loved seeing his figures "come to life". The kids will love it. It was very refreshing to see the Rescue Heroes solve their problems without resorting to violence. The positive influence and the image they portray of everyday heroes is nothing short of amazing. I also have to say that Amazon has the best selection and prices on the web for these toys. Keep up the good work, Amazon.
