Product Description

Four familiar friends invite preschoolers to explore this adorable garage.

Amazon.com

Ideal for ages 18 months to 4 years, the Giggle N Go Garage is a playset with all your child's favorite characters, including Elmo and Oscar the Grouch. Featuring a car wash, pump station, and car elevator, this toy fosters imaginative play with fun phrases at every turn.

Setup and Design
With bright colors and popular Sesame Street characters, this adorable playset puts a smile on any child's face. All the pieces snap right into place and the instructions are clearly written so parents can get it up and running in no time. Once the garage is built, kids put the cars on the elevator platform and pull Oscar's head up. When the elevator reaches the top, the platform should tip forward, sending the cars down the ramp. However, instead of in one smooth motion, the Elmo and Cookie Monster cars require a push or two to get past the first curve. Another slight drawback parents should note is that the frame must be handled gently and might not stand up against rough toddler play.

Car wash, pump station, and car elevator snap together quickly and easily. View larger.

Colorful ramps bring the cars into the different sections. View larger.
Fun with Sesame Street
Not only does this garage have all of the usual features enjoyed by young racers, it also incorporates some of Sesame Street's most beloved characters. With googly eyes and wide grins, the cars are miniature versions of Elmo and Cookie Monster. Boys and girls can race their cars down the Cookie speedway ramp or the Ernie car wash ramp, then gas up at the pump station. And the hose really fits the gas tank! Fun phrases accompany all the action and generate giggles from the youngsters. For quiet play, parents can shut the playset off with the on-off switch on the side.

The Test Drive
Overall the Giggle N Go is a great toy for little kids, but some basic design elements could be improved. For instance, the cars are too wide and instead of rolling right down the ramp, they need a push to get past the first curve. The cars also sometimes prematurely roll off the elevator platform. But once you hear Elmo say, "Time for an oil change," in his sing-song voice, you will forget about this playset's few weaknesses. It reaches its target age and engages kids for hours as they race cars down the ramps again and again. The Giggle N Go Garage measures 7-3/4 by 19 by 9-1/4 inches and requires three AA batteries.

Pros

  • Fun phrases from Sesame Street characters
  • Two ramps for racing
  • Elmo elevator brings cars to second level
  • Hose really fits gas tanks
Cons
  • Cars are a bit too wide for the ramp
  • Poor construction makes it difficult to move set around
  • Cars can roll off elevator prematurely
What's in the Box

Customer Reviews

Within 5 minutes of puting it together it was falling apart.
Lisa Uland
The frame was horribly constructed, it says "no tools required" yet when you put it together, nothing pops or snaps into place.

I contacted the company and sent the toy back for a voucher.

Same story as another review: 20 month old daughter loves Elmo, loves cars, went to several different Wal-marts, even babies-r-us to find it, couldn't wait to get it home, put it together and was so upset. The frame was horribly constructed, it says "no tools required" yet when you put it together, nothing pops or snaps into place. The support legs under the ramp don't even stand flush to the ground, they sort of dangle. Like someone else said, this is supposed to be for a toddler yet falls apart at the slightest touch. Meant for a toddler? Not! I took it back the next day for a full refund. Do not waste your money!

I also had trouble with the ramps. Everytime you attempt to move the garage, it falls apart. It is pretty flimsy for a Fisher Price product. I contacted the company and sent the toy back for a voucher.

My boys were very excited about this toy. However, it is junk! The ramps will not stay attached. We just got it yesterday and it is going back to the store. It is not worth any amount of money. Save yourself the frustration and do not buy it!

I too agreed with the majority of posts. Piece of junk, wont stay together, etc. Returned the first, same problem with the second. I called Fisher Price and explained the situation. They sent one out to me and it works great! My kids fight over it and it still stays together. A bit of a pain in the neck to get one that would assemble correctly (kids played with the first as best they could until the second one came) but Fisher Price made good on it. Everyone with problems should contact the company!

My mother in law told me she was buying this gift for my 1 year old for Christmas. I looked on Amazon and saw all the bad reviews and almost told her to just take it back. Boy would that have been a mistake. My 1 year old and my 2 year old LOVE IT! The very first time I put it together it kept coming apart like the rest of the reviews say, but I went back and kept fiddling with it, making sure everything was in it's place and realized not everything was popped in like it was supposed to be. So after that the elevator worked every time and the ramps never came off; even when my 1 year old (who's learning to walk) fell over it, they stayed attached. I think maybe some of you need to go back and have another look, maybe sure you popped everything in. My kids love this toy. WORKS GREAT!

This was one of the toys we most looked forward to our 18 month-old son opening. We could NOT believe how shoddy the workmanship was. I would much rather use tools to construct something worthwhile than be seduced by the easy to set up, no tools necessary, claim of Fisher Price. We considered taking it back to the store in exchange for another one (on the off chance that the one we got was simply defective), but after reading the reviews here, we know our problems are not ours alone. Hopefully, some people see this BEFORE they spend $30 on The Giggle and Go GARBAGE.

Just got this as a gift for our twin 19month old boys. We were as excited as they were - until we tried to put it together. I cannot believe Fisher Price produces such junk. None of the parts pop in as they should. Absolute complete waste of time, money and plastic. Now, we'll have to spend time calling the company to make good on the this - after reading these reviews, we'll ask for a voucher instead of the same toy. Do not purchase this product.
