THis is the cutest thing. Once you pull elmo's right hand his left leg gets smaller. While saying silly phrases. To cute.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hi I'm Elmo and I don't like you
When Elmo was delivered he was talking in his box. I giftwrapped him for my nephew and he still talked. Left alone in the middle of the night he would say, "Elmo needs a good stretch" and/or laugh maniacally. In short my Elmo was possessed. For long stretches of time he would act like a normal toy that wasn't being touched, i.e. do nothing, but all of a sudden he...

When Elmo was delivered he was talking in his box. I giftwrapped him for my nephew and he still talked. Left alone in the middle of the night he would say, "Elmo needs a good stretch" and/or laugh maniacally. In short my Elmo was possessed. For long stretches of time he would act like a normal toy that wasn't being touched, i.e. do nothing, but all of a sudden he would start talking and wouldn't stop unless I shook him. After being woken up three times by him I decided it would be wrong to give such a creepy toy to a little boy. I even decided donating it would be wrong too, because then I'm just passing on evil to the less fortunate. I don't know if it was just my toy that did this but I would be cautious. I ended up throwing out my Elmo in the trash and if he ever somehow ends back up in my apartment please someone come and save me.

I bought this for my 19-month-old nephew for Christmas. When my sister unwrapped it for him, SHE squealed with delight! :) I think my sister (who is 23) has probably played with it more than he has. But I can't blame her... I was playing with it while it was in the box before I wrapped it. I love that you can pull on an arm and the corresponding leg gets shorter and Elmo makes a funny "whoa!" noise and laughs! When my nephew gets a little older, I'm sure he'll appreciate it, as well. He was a bit overloaded on Christmas (hence my sister opening his presents for him).

My daughter received this for Xmas at age 19 months. She liked it at first but was a little afraid of it taking when you pull its arm or leg. She still won't play with it 8 months later, but she will stay in the room & watch if someone else wants to play with it. There have been occasions when I heard it talking from the closet. Scary!

My son loves Elmo but he did not like this one. Sometimes when you stretch his arms or legs, the voice mechanism is not triggered and you have to tug him agaim. Overall not as entertaining as the rest of the Elmos that we have eg Pizza Elmo, Hokey Pokey and TMX but is durable enough for kids who like to throw toys around.

Funny toy for an Elmo fan. All 4 arms and legs pull. When you pull the arms out, the legs pull in and vice/versa. For our just-1-yearold, we wanted a simple plush Elmo that interacts and she likes it but can't yet pull on him.

Weirdly enough, I bought this as a gag for my husband because he was obsessed with it while in the toy aisle shopping for our nephews. He got a kick out of it for awhile and then we donated it to a children's charity since it wasn't age appropriate for our nephews. Seemed to be fun, just be aware of the hard battery pack in the belly.

I purchased this Elmo plush doll for my young niece who absolutely loves Elmo! Upon receiving the gift she immediately starting tugging at his arms which don't "stretch" like 'Stretch Armstrong'; instead the arms are not sewn to the shoulders/body so you can pull the arms back and forth through Elmo's upper body in a 'flossing' way.

Although my niece did play a bit rough with it, after the first day Elmo was already missing some of his internals which we just stuffed back in through the arms. If your child will be tossing this around and yanking on it, then it wouldn't be the best bet.

Overall it still did the job and put smiles on my nieces face. I'm sure you could get a plain-old Elmo plush and run into less problems and save a couple bucks.

Bought this for my great niece who is only a few months old. So while a lot of play is not being had for it, it is a neat cuddle toy!
