Registered for this item because I thought it was a great idea, was happy to receive it and even used it for two months loving it. But now my son is 6 months, eating more food, trying to help which means food on his hands, food smeared all over the chair, tray, cover and straps. Eating more food also means messier diapers that leak sometimes on straps of a high chair. So first off the Dishwasher safe tray does not fit in the dishwasher of any household dishwasher, so unless you work at TGIFriday's or some other cove of culinary delicacies that will allow you bring your sweet potato encrusted high chair tray to work to be washed. You are hand washing this puppy. No big deal really it is plastic wipes up easily and fits in the sink sort of... except that is not the only part that can not be cleaned properly., Unlike the magically perfect children of the fisher price design team behind this product, my son
actually drips things, had peas run down his face, wipes it with his hand sand grabs the straps on the chair. And tis a.m. he had a diaper malfunction while in the chair. Now I think I learned in kindergarten that food left out to rot and poop have gross germs in there, it should be washed off your body, hands, clothes and anywhere else it may get......so you don't get sick. Anyone with common sense or who had ever fed a baby knows that white webbed straps will absorb all sorts of grossness that can not be cleaned with damp rag....and obviously you want your baby to eat in sanitary condisions. Well the fisher price design team has no common sense,,, the bottom straps (you know the ones closest to diaper malfunctions) CAN NOT be removed for cleaning. So basically I am left with straps that are less than appetizing colored and smelly, and no way to clean them.

Since chores have very little to do with watching the TV, my wife won't clean anything. Anything includes this chair. I clean it about once a week, and I am amazed by how easy the F-P Space Saver High Chair is to clean, so long as you've wrapped it with cellophane and duct tape, and your baby uses a bib made from a 55-gallon trash bag. Seriously, the arms on this chair must be designed to collect and store enough applesauce and avocado mush to keep your LO (that is mommy-blog-speak for "little one") alive through the next zombie apocalypse.

Running beneath the armrests of this chair are six semi-circle cut outs and a long grove. Inside these little semi-circles and the long grooves is storage for 27 lbs of food. My LO weights 27lbs. Clearly, no zombie apocalypse would last long enough for my LO to eat his own weight in applesauce and avocado mush. I have cable TV, and most zombie attacks last one season, the equivalent of a month. The food stored in this chair would last approximately two months; much too long.

I write this review for the benefit of the Chief Fisher-Price Furniture Design Engineer: This chair is nearly perfect. Eliminate the zombie apocalypse food storage feature of this chair, and I will buy thousands more.

I HAVE TO SAY, I SEE A LOT OF REVIEWS HERE ON AMAZON ABOUT HOW THE F-P SPACE SAVER HIGHCHAIR ISN'T ALL THAT GOOD. WELL I'VE OWNED ONE FOR OVER SIX YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN THROUGH TWO GRANDCHILDREN, (ACTUALLY STILL GOING THROUGH THE SECOND GRANDCHILD.) AND A FEW FRIEND'S CHILDREN. ALSO OUR PATTERN ON OUR SEAT COVER ISN'T THE TAN CIRCLES, BUT IT'S ALL TAN.

I HAVE A FEW POINTS THAT I WANT TO MAKE ABOUT THIS AMAZING CHAIR. OK THE EASE OF USING IT, YOU CAN'T BEAT IT! WHEN YOUR BABY IS VERY LITTLE, THE SEAT RECLINES SO THAT HE/SHE CAN BE SITTING IN THEIR SEAT AND WATCHING YOU WHILE YOU ARE DOING DISHES, OR MAKING LUNCH/DINNER. THEY ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE AND YOU ARE IN VIEW FOR THEM. ALSO TO HAVE THEIR BOTTLES YOU CAN SIT COMFORTABLY NEXT TO THE SEAT AND FEED YOUR BABY. THEY ARE COMFORTABLE AND SO ARE YOU. OF COURSE HOLDING THEM IS SO MUCH BETTER.

YOU CAN REMOVE THE TRAY TWO WAYS. SQUEEZING BOTH SIDES OF THE TRAY OR IF YOUR HANDS ARE FULL , JUST RELEASE THE FRONT LEVER AND SLIDE FORWARD.

CLEANING THE TRAY. I KNOW THAT SOME OF YOU ARE A LITTLE UPSET THAT IT DOESN'T FIT IN THE DISHWASHER RIGHT. I PUT MINE IN THE LOWER RACK OF THE DISHWASHER. OK FOLKS, IT TAKES UP THE WHOLE SHELF!!! I ONLY USE THIS METHOD... ONE... IF HE'S EATEN, CRAZY STICKY STUFF OR SAUCY THINGS THEN YES, IN THE DISHWASHER IT GOES. OTHERWISE, IT GETS HANDWASHED IN THE SINK. (WE DO HAVE A DEEP SINK). IF YOU DON'T HAVE EITHER OF THESE, THEN THE TUB WORKS WELL TO WASH IT OFF! AND DAWN ANTIBACTERIAL DISH SOAP CLEANS IT PERFECTLY BTW.

OK NOW THE SEAT~ IT'S PLASTIC! IT'S SOFT AND CAN BE WIPED OFF WITH A GOOD WASH CLOTH! AGAIN USE THE DAWN FOR MOST JOBS. AND IF YOU WASH IT UP ASAP YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANYTHING GETTING DRIED ON OR STAINED INTO THE SEAT.
