My son received this toy as a Christmas gift (he was 7 months old at the time) and has enjoyed playing with the blocks everyday since he received it. He is now 10 months old and is still enjoying the blocks even more each day. He loves to watch the faces pop up out of the blocks and will shake the blocks to listen to the clack of the pop-up over and over again. He just discovered how to stack the blocks himself and so has found a new way to enjoy this toy.

The only downside I can see at all to this toy is that the lid is hard to keep on the toy and the blocks spill out all over, however it really isn't too much of an issue because this just makes discovering the blocks all over again so much fun for my son! :)

My 7-month-old loves these blocks. Amazon had the best price. The best part is the squeaky snail... He makes a sound like a dog squeak toy. Baby loves this.

Bought a dump truck that came with two of these blocks when my son was about 8 months. He loved them (push the button on the cab and the stacked blocks dump out). I saw that you could get a full box of these blocks and bought it for his first birthday. He's now 17 months and I don't think a day has gone by without playing with these. Since the popup piece sticks up a bit these were the first blocks he could stack himself. He makes towers, loves putting them in and out of the box, using the lid and base of the box to start stacking... and they're durable. The only lame thing is the stupid squeaky snail - very little noise and too hard to push. Not sure why they added that piece - great toy without it. And nice that it comes in a compact storage box that toddlers can carry around the house. Definite value for money toy and seemingly indestructible.

These blocks are made very well, they are easy to keep clean. The children can and will put them in their mouths, at lest they can not bite them like the sponge blocks. All the children love them, infants rattle them and preschoolers build great towers! Fun toy I have four sets!!

We bought this for our son for the holidays and it wasn't quite what we expected. The pop up faces don't stay popped up unless the block is on the raised portion of the pail/lid or on the enclosed snail. Also, the only thing that makes noise is the snail which has a half-hearted squeak. He was underwhelmed. He has also played with them half-heartedly. I did give it 3 stars for educational value as he did need to learn to raise the blocks to get them off the raised portions of the pail/lid, which is actually hard. The clear bin is also good to help them learn the concept of being in something. We'd put a block inside and see him figure out how to get it out. Despite these pluses, tho, I would have gone with something else if I had seen these in person. As it stands, we'll keep them for awhile, hoping he eventually grows to like them more.

Unlike traditional blocks, the top portion of these blocks go back in when they're not stacked onto the base or the cover. This is not that intuitive for a 12-month old, or even a 2-year old, to figure out. My daughter prefers the traditional blocks simply because these are not easy to stack up.
