TMX Elmo has a laugh that will make you laugh even if you don't want to. He keeps asking you to do it "Again, again" when you tickle him.. and when you tickle him again he screams with glee "You've done it again" and then starts rolling on the floor. It's hard not to laugh even if you know what it will do next. I bought it for work and I think it will be great to bring it out during those workshops when everyone works all day on presentations. It would be fun to offer to tickle the Elmo as a "prize" for a cool idea...the better the idea, the more you can tickle Elmo. Should bring back some fun to brainstorming! The only problem with this Elmo is that it does shed a little. Don't bring it near your winter white coat and you'll be ok!

Great for Adults....and kids,
By Moe "simply happy" (Boston, Ma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo (Toy)
I run a daycare center and bought one of these yesterday- mostly because I thought it would be a great thing to have on my desk- something for adults and children to play with while they were in my office. I pulled it out of the box, and it was ready to go- batteries included, and only 3 of those annoying wire ties to unloosen. I figure what fun is having him, if you don't play with him?
I got to see adults and children from the ages of 6 months to 9 years play with it. First, for the babies- it is an action toy that they want to put their hands on. However, if you do, you have to start him all over again. Some babies were petrified of the sudden movements that elmo made. Other babies couldn't wait to get their hands on it. Toddlers reacted the same way. I guess it will just depend on them. The older the kids were who interacted with elmo, the more they liked it, and could understand the humor in it. Lastly, the people who liked this toy the most was the teachers, and parents. The belly laugh and the floor pounding was awesome. It made everyone laugh. Which was the point of my buying it. His laugh is contagious and cute, and although I usually find most elmo stuff annoying, this for some reason didn't get on my nerves at all. I just loved seeing the reaction that people had watching him. He will have a long life living on (or near) my desk. Hope this helped you out if you were looking for a real life review of this toy... Good Luck!

Novelty wears off very quickly!,
This review is from: Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo (Toy)
My mom purchased the TMX Elmo for my 15 month old daughter. Not being the type of person to buy into toy-hype, I had absolutely no intention of buying one myself. Let me just begin by saying that Elmo is very funny when you first see and hear what he can do. It's funny for both adults and kids. My daughter LOVED him. . . . for maybe a week (at best!). I now have a $40 dust collector. She has totally lost interest in this toy. If you don't already have it, take your child over to a friend/neighbors house who does and let them play with it there. That will probably be as much time as they will play with it at your house anyway. If you absolutely MUST have it, by all means, buy it, but DON'T pay more than the MSRP for it. First off, it's SO not worth it. Second, don't make greedy people rich just to try and buy your child's happiness....there will be more in stores before Christmas obviously (do you really think Fisher Price wouldn't make enough to fill Christmas demand??? -- they're trying to make a profit too!)

Terrific for a Two,

We recently gave a TMX Elmo to our son for his second birthday and he LOVES it. I have never seen him squeal with such glee! He loves to carry Elmo around by the eyeballs while it kicks and wiggles and chase the dog with it. It's so hard to buy him anything new, because as a third child, he inherits everything from his older siblings. This was a great way to give him something new, different and entirely his own. For all the joy he's getting out of it now, I personally don't care if it ends up in the bottom of the toy box in six months. My older children, 5 and 8, can't keep their hands off Elmo. He's just too infectious to ignore. At this time, TMX Elmos are readily available for under $60 on Ebay including shipping.

Limited Shelf Life,

OK, yes. This toy will definately make you laugh - but it wears off rather quickly. My son LOVES Elmo. But he was not a fan of this toy. In fact, it kind of freaked him out the first few times. Once he got used to it - he wasn't interested. I was also very disappointed at how quickly it drains the batteries. Had to replace them twice in 6 weeks. (and it was not my 2 year old playing with it - it was my husband).
After the initial fun wears off, this will just on a shelf or in a toy chest - unused. [...]

WooHoo!!! Don't Be A Sucker.....,
This review is from: Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo (Toy)
I have seen all the reviews and I have seen the video of this little guy and have wanted one, yes only one, for my 20 month old for Christmas. While I have watched the prices go higher and higher on Ebay and Amazon, I REFUSED to pay the outlandish prices. Well, my waiting paid off! Today I got one from the Walmart website!!! A little FYI: they update their computors periodically throughout the day. When you see it come up as in stock, click on it to put into your cart, if it says Sorry Sold Out, LEAVE IT IN YOUR CART! Then keep refreshing the page. They are releasing them in small quantites and you will likely get one if it's in your cart. Good luck and don't give up. Persistance pays off!!!

18 mo old loves Elmo TMX,
This review is from: Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo (Toy)
DD loves this Elmo. It is great to watch her try to imitate his giggle. Elmo giggles, rolls on the floor, and moves his arms up and down. He also stands back up from sitting and laying on the floor. He is too funny! One thing he is not is soft. To accomplish all this, it seems that Fisher Price needed to leave some stuffing out. If you are looking for a toy for your child to hug and cuddle, this is not it. TMX is more of an action toy.

The Elmo Craze Continues,
By
This review is from: Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo (Toy)
Ok, I wasn't planning on getting my 2 yr old son one of these, but we happened to be in the store the day they came out and once I opened up the box to try to get a peek and he heard Elmo's voice admonishing "AH AH AH, NO PEEKING", it had to go in the cart.
At first I just let him play with the box, which amused him for hours. Then I fell victim to the hype and let him open it. Oh how I wish I'd had the video camera on him. His reaction was priceless. He shrieked and laughed and shrieked some more, my usually fairly calm boy. My husband and I were amused by the toy for the first 5 minutes or so, but the novelty quickly wore off, especially when our dog thought it might be a toy for her. While I do think it is cute, I think my son would have benefitted much more from say, a set of unit blocks or something that he can put some imagination into. If I had it to do again I'd get the video camera out and take him to watch one that belongs to a friend. ;)

Just okay....,

The new Elmo is slightly disappointing. His tickle "spots" are really just buttons and can be hard to find and press for a small child. Once my 21 month old daughter had seen Elmo's routine, she wanted to hold him. The problem is when he's held, he stops his routine and he freezes up. He starts moving in jerks and spasms. This is another toy that isn't meant to be played WITH, just watched. That gets old fast, even for a one year old. It also used up the included batteries in just two weeks, and we didn't play with him everyday. He's not worth the $35 (or more) for the amount of time we play with him. I think a plain stuffed Elmo is better. Much more cuddly, at least.

The best Elmo Yet!,

My 20 month old has Shout Elmo, Chicken Dance Elmo & Limbo Elmo. This is by far the most amazing Elmo out there. This doll rolls around, pounds his fists laughing, slaps his knee and gets himself back up every time. It is really amazing. Fisher Price outdid themselves with this one. $34.99 (on sale at K-mart the 1st day) is a little higher then the other Elmo's, but in my opinion it is worth it. You will not be disappointed with this Elmo!
