So Many Ways to Play…
This playset features water sound effects, engine sounds and phrases from Thomas, Harold and Sir Topham Hatt. The chunky style is perfect for little hands while the fun sounds and phrases and cause-and-effect features will entertain and inspire young imaginations! Place figure in different locations on the playset to hear speech or press down on the water tower spout to hear water sound effects. Press the buttons above the doors and they will pop open, allowing the train behind the door to roll out. You will hear a chugging sound effect, whistles and catch phrases from Thomas. Press down on the dormer, and Harold the helicopter will spin around and activate sounds. Drop the cargo into the chute on the roof and it will tumble down into the cargo car. Very recently my son became obsessed with "choo choos" (i blame all the christmas trains ;) For those other newbies out there - this playset is in the Discover Junction line - also called "free wheelin' trains". That means these are largish plastic engines that have WHEELS and connect via a hook and oval between them. They are the perfect size for toddler hands - and can easily be connected. They do not need a track - they are not motorized - they do not have magnets. Engine size is: 3.5 (L) x 2.4 (W) x 4.25 (H)

This playset is great! instant favorite. Actually, my son hasn't touched a single other toy since this arrived. trains in & out, helicopter flying, door opening and cloing, loading the trains with barrels or water. you name it. this is a great set! There are multiple talking buttons - they each have multiple phrases, and the voice is pleasant. so it's not repetitive and annoying.

One addition - if you tie some of the packing string through both holes on the doors (to form a loop on each side) your child can open the doors easily from the front and back. instead of trying to close the doors with their fingers in them (it won't hurt them - but it will frustrate them!)

My husband and i saw a TV ad for this and knew we had to get it for our Thomas fanatic 17 month old. He adores it and plays with it off and on for hours. We'd like to get the additional trains but havent been able to find them yet. I highly highly recommend this for any kid. Similar I suppose to a FP Little People set and a Thomas trainset for older kids. You wont regret this one.

My 3 1/2 year old son asked for this for Christmas after seeing an ad in the paper. He really wanted it but I was worried it was going to be too young for him and he would get bored after a few hours of playing with it. Not the case! He has played with it every day since Christmas (it's now the 2nd of Jan.) He loves all the noises it makes and pushing the button which makes all three doors open at once. I will say that the doors open almost too easily and sometimes he has a hard time getting them to stay shut. That said, it doesn't seem to bother him. It's great for imagative play!
