My 2 month old was happily kicking away in this a few feet away when I looked up from what I was doing and saw he was bleeding all over the place. The plastic housing unit for the motor is hard enough under the fabric layer that as he was kicking it split his skin open. Not happy about that. It's not like he's gonna have his foot amputated or anything, but seriously? Babies kick. I feel like that should have been taken into consideration before putting something that hard right under where baby feet will land. To the parents I'd advise you stick a towel or something over it to soften it. To Fisher Price, I'd advise maybe suspending the motor further under the seat so it's not hard enough to inflict injury. Anyway, I'm annoyed about it enough that I'm gonna send pics of his bloody foot and the bloody chair to Fisher Price just so they're aware of it.
I didn't give it one star because I actually like the stupid thing when it's not, you know, shanking my baby. Derp!

This product is unsafe. My 4 month daughter cut her ankle on control panel also. I belong to a mommy group and 3 other moms had the same incident. This is a top seller on Amazon??

I bought this because none of the other bouncers seemed to 'cradle' a newborn. The little lamb bouncer is almost identical to this in appearance and comfort but does not bounce - it's stationary. This is the best of both worlds because it is very cozy for a new baby yet has the ability to actually bounce (you have to use your hand to make it bounce - it's not automatic). Also, while both the little lamb bouncer and this bouncer have a vibrate feature, the little lamb shuts off after 10 minutes. This bouncer's vibrate stays on until you turn it off. My daughter loves to be bounced on a yoga ball and it was killing my back and I can bounce this aggressively enough where it simulates me bouncing her on the ball.

I got this when I was pregnant and I'm so glad I did!
Since she was born we've used it since day one, we put her there while we were having dinner sometimes to give her a bottle and sometimes just to soothe her. She loves it. It's comfy and soft. She takes all of her naps here.

I didn't use the toy bar until she was about 2 months I put batteries in turn it on and nothing, I called fisher price and they sent me a brand new toy bar for FREE! Well that one didn't "work" either, I called again and the lady told me I had to pull on the little string in the middle DUH!!! So I asked if they wanted me to send the new one back and she said to keep it, so now I have two perfectly fine toy bars ;)

My baby loves the toy bar. At first she would just look at it, then she started hitting the rattles and now at only 4 four months she figured out she has to pull the string to turn the music and the lights on! (Mommy couldn't figure it out...oy!)

This bouncer was really comfy for my little one. He loves the vibrate function, but the straps do not fit very well. I would suggest adding some scratch posts.

Like many, we registered for the rainforest bouncer b/c the baby bargains book said it was the "best". We recently bought this one for when we visit my parents house. It was fairly affordable and seemed to offer similar features to the rainforest (both have music, lights and vibration). If I had to register all over again, I would opt for this one over the rainforest bouncer. I like the toy bar on this one much better. It offers a variety of toys that each make a different sound and can be manipulated. They toy bar height is high enough that an older infant can reach for the toys, pull on them and inspect them. The height also allows us to easily place the baby in and out of the seat without removing the bar. The rainforest toy bar sits much lower-essentially lap height, and the toys can only be twisted. Most of the engagement or hype with the rainforest version is passive, eg looking at the twisting waterfall or the moving monkey. If you are choosing between the two, you won't be disappointed with this one. The only downside I could find was that it requires two types of batteries.

We had twins in March, so getting the Fisher-Price Deluxe Monkey Bouncer was a necessity at the time. Since then, they've both more or less love sitting in it (unless they're hungry, of course), so much so, that I really do need to buy a second one. The chair itself is pretty basic as far as bouncers go, with your frame and the washable cover that goes over it that wholly comprises the seat. It also has a vibration unit that's good for soothing a baby located at the bottom of the seat (runs off a D battery), as well as the removable toy/light bar (runs of 3 AA batteries) that easily inserts on both sides of the seat frame (and more importantly, it's also easily removable and doesn't get stuck with baby still in there).

The bouncer seems comfy enough to both my twins as they sit for as much as 30 minutes transfixed by the sound and light show. They're just getting old enough to pull a bit at the "bananas" to activate it on their own, so things are just getting kind of interesting with it now. There are rattle toys to the left and right of the pull "bananas," but those don't get as much attention, and they don't rattle all that loudly (which is probably a plus). There are controls to turn the bar off, as well as to control the volume and duration. These are nice features, and will help to maintain your sanity just a little bit longer.

Overall, the Fisher-Price Deluxe Monkey Bouncer is a great bouncer and probably the best one we've used (none of the bouncers we used with our oldest daughter even came close). For the money, it's probably the best one you can buy (important when you don't have a lot of spare cash, and let's face it, for the 99%, that's always a concern come baby-time).

I just assembled my bouncer (baby isn't here yet) and I thought I had the same problem as like 30 other people. I put the batteries in, moved the volume switch and nothing. Turns out that the sound and lights go off and on by pulling the center toy/banana. So it does actually work. So if you get it and move both switches and nothing happens, pull the center banana and watch it go.

Just thought I would write that up so others wouldn't go through the pain of returning, etc.

Again, haven't tested on baby, so not sure about that part.

Great infant/newborn seat! My daughter is now 4 months old and we still use her seat very often. She practically lived in it during her first few weeks!!

We tried several different seats, none of them were as soft or cradled and supported a newborn (and her head) as well. Also, every other seat we looked at had a thin strap for between the legs, which seemed so uncomfortable. The Snug-a-bunny has a wide crotch strap made of plush, soft material. It's easy to bounce and as she got older and started kicking alot, she learned to bounce it herself. I love that the body support cushoin easily comes out for washing (and it washes well, we make sure to hang dry it though.)

Assembly was pretty easy, although it took some effort to stretch the material over the metal frame. Instructions were easy to follow. I do wish it folded or came apart into two pieces easily so that travelling with it was easier; it's not heavy, just bulky.

The vibrate turns off after 20mins or so, and I think the music is about the same (she doesn't like the music, we don't use it) This helps save batteries but make sure to turn the switch off, too, otherwise batteries will drain quicker. However, the short vibrate cycle did cause our baby to wake up from naps as soon as it turned off. For us, batteries have lasted a long time, only changed them twice in 4 months. This is good because it takes three D batteries ($$$$!!!).

Overall, I'm very pleased with this baby shower gift and I hope to use it until our baby is more mobile or can sit independently. She still fits in it just fine and she's 14lbs and almost 25 inches. Would definetly recommend this product.

This is a great bouncer! We own all of the Fischer-Price Snuggabunny items. The quality, style, and comfort is better than any other! Our son has enjoyed this since we was only a week hold. He is now 4 months and still loves it. I still remember the first time he noticed the birds hanging above, so cute!

The bouncer is great because it's more elevated so you can put the baby in, safely strap him/her in the harness, and be able to interact with your baby while the baby can see you. It's nice to have another option besides laying down all the time. Our son loves to sit in his bouncer in front of the window (floor level) and watch outside while he waves his hands and kicks his legs. He also really loves the vibration and seems to find it as soothing as a ride in the car. The padding is so soft for baby skin and very comfy. It's easy to remove and is machine washable. The safety harness straps fit very well and seem to allow for more room than the Snuggabunny swing does.

This is great to have your baby with you while you clean the kitchen, take a shower, or do other household projects. He has taken a few naps in this comfortably, but usually this is used for awake time.

What we don't like about this is that the music plays soooo quiet that we can hardly hear it. Now, we have the swing which plays the music pretty loudly, so it's possible the one we purchased could be defective? I know he can't hear it at all over the vibration or if anyone is talking. Unlike the swing, this runs on batteries. They last a decent amount of time, but as they slowly die, the vibration gets lower and lower. The other thing is that the padding over the buttons where his feet go is pretty thin. I usually put something under his legs like a small blanket folded, so that he doesn't hurt his feet while he's kicking. Also, the power night is very bright if you're looking right at it.

Overall I would still highly recommend the entire Snuggabunny line. The color/styling is gender neutral so perfect for a boy or girl and especially if you plan to reuse it with other babies.
