Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Gentle Waves Musical Mobile

We got this mobile as a shower gift....it went perfect with our beachy/sea creatures themed nursery. We use it every night and my little girl LOVES it! She would fall asleep to the peaceful music or ocean sounds and the swaying of her "friends". In the morning she would have full out conversations with them! It was so funny and absolutely adorable. We have only ever had to change the batteries in it one time, which I think is fantastic seeing how much it gets used. Within the past week however, the arm has stopped swaying. The music still plays, so we assumed it was batteries. After replacing the batteries, we have come to the conclusion that when they say to only use from birth to 5 months, they mean it! Our daughter is 5 1/2 months and the arm will sway for a moment or two and then stop....very sad because we really do love this mobile. Seeing how she is ready to move on from the mobile, this one will be retired, however I would still buy another one in the future for a second child. My only other suggestion for this would be for Fisher Price to give it some sort of remote control so that it could be turned on from the door instead of having to reach in and press the on button.

*****EDIT: Last week the rotation feature stopped working and the back and forth motion still worked. Baby still liked it just fine so we didn't think twice. Today the back and forth feature stopped. Baby yells at it expectantly so we will now be buying a new mobile. Changed reveiw to 3 stars. It was nice while it lasted****

We bought this mobile through our local consignment shop and it was used. It works just fine-no problems at all with the motor not working as some reviewers have said.

Pros:
Nice gentle classical music
Mobile arm sways back and forth and also rotates
Sturdy construction
White noise option (waves on a shore)
Easy to install
Long battery life
Multiple volume levels
Can play music while mobile is stationary
Easy to operate in the dark

Cons:
Music/mobile plays for only 5-10 or so minutes then stops
Must have audio while mobile is in motion
Not correct fit for all cribs (we fixed this with flannel wrapped around crib so it would not leave marks)

The music and colors of the mobile are nice but it doesn't swing at all. It starts doing it and then stops after a few seconds. Plus, there are only 3 figures on it and, since they do not move, they do not really capture my baby's interest. I would recommend going with something else.

I installed this in the crib a week ago. My daughter (two months) absolutely loves it! It includes some of her same fishy-friends from her Ocean Wonders swing. She loves to watch them "swim."

Like so many others, the mobile has stopped spinning properly. While the arm still sways back and forth, it gets stuck on one side sometimes. So, the fishies stop "swimming" for several "sways" before they start back up again.
I tried changing the batteries, it didn't help.
So far, my daughter isn't complaining about it, so we're still using it.

My reason for the 3 star rating at this time:
I'm afraid it will completely stop working and I'll need to buy a new one.

The music and sounds play, but the mobile has no movement. I am so upset that this product does not sway back and forth like it was meant to do. It went perfect with the bedding that I bought- now what to do?

My son loves this mobile. And I love the fact that the songs play for well over 15 minutes, which gives little sleepyheads enough time to be lulled to sleep. Plus the ocean sound is great when you're trying to get them to go back to sleep. Overall great product!

Bought this for my little one when he was at daycare. He loved it and when he started pull up the mobile pops out and plays music. Great!

I wish it had a control remote but so far my son loves it, very simple and i like that.

We really liked this mobile and purchased it because of the unique movement of the arm that swayed back and forth over the crib. However, after less than 2 months the arm stopped moving. The only functioning part was the sounds. We ended up returning it and purchasing a different mobile.

My baby loves the ocean theme and so do I. Works well and was everything I expected. A nice addition to any crib.
