5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun game!
I bought Fisherman's Bass Club new for eight dollars. I wasn't extremely excited about it, but I've always had a small interest in bass fishing (In real life and games), so I decided to give it a shot. Now I'm very glad I did.

Sound - could have been better, but not too bad.
Graphics - excellent. Detailed and realistic.

The game was on sale for [money] at a local store so I took a chance on it--most PS2 games are 20 or more. I would have had more fun folding my money into a paper airplane and throwing it out my car window.

This was THE WORST GAME I have ever played. I have played other fising games that had more to give than this game. You can only select your casting location by going left and right (you can't move your cast in closer). To reel the fish in, just press the x button--not very realistic especially when the analog sticks could be used as a reel. You also have to keep turning the analog left or right, depending on which way the fish goes and the tension is too tricky.

The game is not intuitive, the lures are not very easy to select, and most of the buttons on the controller are NOT used! The voice was bad, the music cheesy and the tourney took FOREVER. I had to quit after 15 minutes.

2.0 out of 5 stars RENT THIS GAME FIRST!!!!, December 4, 2003
This review is from: Fisherman's Bass Club (Video Game)
When I saw this game I thought it would be one those fun and easy fishing games, but when I played it I realized I was wrong and it was quite difficult to catch a fish. It's real easy to get one to bite but not so easy to set the hook and reel it in, the fish always seem to get away.

If you are good at working the controls and have a lot of patience, this game is for you. On the other hand if your patience level is low (like mine) it's very likely you'll set the game aside and play something else.

As for the quiz section-you have 10 seconds to read the questions and answer. If you know alot about fishing you'll do fine.

I recommend you RENT it first.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really Really BAD, November 15, 2002
By
This review is from: Fisherman's Bass Club (Video Game)
Why do they keep coming out with more garbage fishing games? I don't understand the complexity behind generating the great outdoors with some real nature settings and realistic fish.

This game had nothing. NOTHING to offer. Bad music, sound effects, graphics, the boat was bad the tournament was boring.

I rented this game and played it for 10 minutes.. that's all I could take. I kept hoping it would get better, sadly, it didn't.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice to see a non violent game, November 26, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisherman's Bass Club (Video Game)
This game was a good game for kids and adults alike interested in fishing. It was a nice change from all the violent and car crashing , racing games. The tournaments can go long when you are having a bad game but it is all in a game and the challenge to get the best catchis always out there. We don't have to always shoot or crash to enjoy the game. Gave a good outlook to a different sport and recreation. Many kids and adults will never have the chance to experience this kind of fishing in the real world as we are too hurried and into the rush of adreniline.
We all enjoyed this game right down to the 6 year old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun game!, January 31, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars

I bought Fisherman's Bass Club new for eight dollars. I wasn't extremely excited about it, but I've always had a small interest in bass fishing (In real life and games), so I decided to give it a shot. Now I'm very glad I did.

Sound - could have been better, but not too bad.
Graphics - excellent. Detailed and realistic.
Gameplay - fun and easy to get used to.

The controls may be easy to learn, but the game is hard to get used to. Beginners will find it very hard to catch a fish at first, but it doesn't make the game any less fun!

Fisherman's Bass Club is one of the best games I have ever played. Give it a try - but rent it first.

For the cheap price, this game is great! there are different challenges you can take, and even quizes that unlock new things! The bad reviews are for stupid reasons. If you stink at the game, don't blame the game! If games were easy they'd be no fun, and it's not THAT hard. And how is selecting the lure hard? You just keep pressing the left or right button until you find the one you want, which takes like 10 seconds......................wow, hard. You can't get great games like this for this cheap, so if you see it anywhere for $10, buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great challanging game with various aspects!, April 16, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fisherman's Bass Club (Video Game)
This game is great here are all the highlights

1 fish move and bite realisitcly

2 it has an underwater cam like reel fishing 3!

3 the fish fights are exiting and very challanging you have to move the analog while pressing x to reel while moving the analog to mimic the direction in which the fish is going if its not close it wont work (Like left up down right up left up down right left ect) very challanging indeed

4 A good amount of lures

5 There is a challange mode aside from the tournament where you have to meet certain requirements also a easy to understand tutorial!

6 works with agtec fishing rod!

7 Graphics are very nice for their time

8 there is a quiz mode where the more you know about fishing the more you are rewarded for example you get a 10 set of questions and if you pass them all without failing 1 you get either a new lure or fishing location!!

9 theres a Free mode to help you practice up before dealing with the real deal

Overall I could go on and on about how great this game is (and I do mean that literaly) but for now just see that you can get a whole lot of awesomeness for the cheap price!

1.0 out of 5 stars PSx even have better game than this, March 25, 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fisherman's Bass Club (Video Game)
This game is very bad. The reason I can say that is because I have played a much better game in PSX! Considering the PSX game was at least 5 years older, it is just a shame anybody would sell this game at all.

The only reason I bought this game is because the name is similar to the game I used to play.

I will now compare this game to Fisherman's Bait by Konami that was introduced for PSX (the good game that I used to play):

1. Fish
This game only introduce 2 kinds of fish! How pathetic. And there is no surprise factors at all.

In Konami game introduces at least 5 kinds of fish. In addition, you can sometimes have the surprise factor of hooking off a boots or tin can. That surprise factor is really funny.

2. Game play
In this game, you CAN ONLY THROW THE BAIT TO 1 SINGLE DETERMINED DISTANCE.
Sure you can more left and right, so it is essentially very similar to a 2D game.
All you can do is reel the bait after you throw it. That's it.
After you catch a fish, ALL YOU CAN DO IS PULL. Nothing else. It is so bad, it's not even funny.

In the konami game, you can adjust the power of your throw so you can throw closer or further. In addition, you can reel AND let let loose the wheel if there is too much tension on the fishing line so it does not snap. It is much better than only being able to pull as in this game.

3. Tutorial
This game only give walls of texts for tutorial. I guess that is what you need because this game really HAVE NO FEATURES.

IN SUMMARY:
All you can do is throw and pull the bait. Nothing else. VERY VERY VERY BORING.
It feels like the company worked on it 5 minutes and sell it. Really bad, even a psx game is better--which is a really pathetic comment. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Seriously.
