5.0 out of 5 stars To Fish is to Dream..., July 27, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
Not that author Bob Rich asked, but to me fishing is about dreams: the dream of catching a fish, and the dream about it after I do.

"The Fishing Club" set me to dreaming about fishing past and future through his cast of famous (and near famous) anglers. Rich's characterizations of the fisherfolk and their fishing DNA is fresh and thoughtful stuff, hence this new book is a very enjoyable read.

Enjoyable enough, in fact, for me to hope for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fishing Club, May 30, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
Really cool book. I was intriqued by the different backgrounds and stories of the fisherman profiled. It really hits home how universally loved fishing really is. Bob seems to be able to capture the essence of each of the anglers. There is hope for us amatuers afterall!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fishing stste of mind, May 14, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
Even for someone who has not experienced the types of adventures and fishing challenges so smartly written about in this book, it gives the reader a wonderful insight into the intrigue and excitement of this sport. Bob Rich's love of fishing and wonderful stories about his friends and their enthusiam for angling makes this a great read. The author's creative talents shine brightly in his lastest book.

Bob Rich has written what will become a modern day classic with his new book, The Fishing Club! As Charles Fox once said, "angling is the way to round out a happy life." I think reading The Fishing Club is another good way for anyone to enjoy life! Whether you like fishing, sports, or simply a great read on life and passion, there is something here for everyone. Thanks, Bob!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fishing Club with Bubba, November 6, 2006
By
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
Reading this book has given me a new perspective on fishing; the memories with family, great friends or even the solitude when alone in the quiet of the winding rivers. I marvel at the stories of Bob's closest friends, many of whom are famous through their accomplishments and others including Bob who have demonstrated the importance that fishing with family and friends have on a prominent business man. I enjoyed the stories, the awesome pictures especially that beauty of a 13 pound brown trout "caught" by President George H. W. Bush while fishing with Bob and Mindy Rich. The retrospect of his thoughts in his conclusion conveyed all the feelings we as anglers have when we think of our passions for fishing and sharing those fond memories with our closest friends.

Well done Bob!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fishing Club, May 16, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
This book is a classic, a quick read full of great tales. It's fascinating to read the life of the anglers featured in this book and Bob did a fantastic job keeping the reason for the love of fishing until the very end. Anglers and non-anglers can easily connect to the reason we love sports and other hobbies. This book is inspirational, thought provoking and a lot of fun. A MUST READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars EVEN BETTER THAN "FISH FIGHTS", May 9, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
My brother and I live in San Francisco and are avid fisherman. We discovered Mr. Rich's first book in Key West a few years ago and The Fishing Club is even better than his first book. We will be buying a few dozen for our fishing pals' Christmas gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fishing Club is more than just a book about people who fish., May 6, 2006
This review is from: The Fishing Club: Brothers and Sisters of the Angle (Hardcover)
From the Test River to the Niagara River, "Bubba" Rich shares with us a unique insight into both the sport of fishing and a group of individuals who make it special.

The Fishing Club, takes the reader on a journey to some of the finest and most unique "Fishing holes" throughout the world to fish with some fascinating anglers. While reading the book I felt like I was standing there casting a line into the water with them while they told their stories.

For some people, fishing is a sport, for others it is a way of life, but for all of them it is about passion. The Fishing Club is a celebration of that passion.
